Magpie and Mouse

Specifically, rather than 'hazel', a background of light green, with a brown ring about the pupil and notable brown splotching scattered about the iris.

Some days, now that she's all but grown, she lives as a magpie, perched upon rooftops among her valueless stolen baubles -cunning and raucous.

What if it wasn't London, but Gilneas? The underbelly gone a little soft with rot?

Someone taught her to be useful- for herself.  She learned how to tell which doors kept secrets and which doors were simply lonely, how to slip her narrow self through cracks and crevices, and how to coax stubborn locks and bolts into confession, and best of all, how to keep from starving when her stomach and soul never felt anything but hunger.

Someone gave her a name- it was Evellynne, right and proper.  A mouthful though, a big and burdensome thing for a sprat and sprig of a girl with spindle limbs, who grew thin as a rule and sharp as a nail; so she sliced and snipped it to Evie so the sound would weigh better in her pinched and frowning mouth.
