I’d let you know if it works, but seems best if I don’t. I wish simply not agreeing was all I felt about this whole mess. Smug asshole knew he was going to get off from the day he was arrested. Repeating the party line all day doesn’t help either. Hate feeling like I’m the one full of shit.

Thank you for sparing me the seedy bar cliches. Only have so much left in me after having to the exact opposite that I’m supposed to do. But alcohol? That seemed like it could be a temporary fix. 

I try to remind myself of that plenty. I’d hardly say hot shot. If I was I’d be behind Chief’s Brody’s desk instead of trying to futilely explain why we can’t charge a man who’s dangerous. And it makes for no home life in my case. Or I ended up losing what home life I once had because of it.

I wish there was more we can do. And I do think highly of them. What happens when you have someone come in and you can tell it’s a DV case but they’re unwilling to give an account. They tripped. They’re clumsy. You see them again and again. You try and they don’t want to hear it. Is that on you? Is that on us when we get called in to talk to her and try to get a statement? You can’t stop all of it. Shit that should be easy isn’t. It happens all the time. All we can do is be better with our next go. 

It happens to plenty of us. My job has not made me an optimist I will say that. There are enough people who try that there’s still hope for things, but there are days where it feels like we might be spinning our wheels. I’m more suspicious by nature than I used to be. Makes for interesting relationships. 

And if you decide to throw a punch too? Or what if he actually hurts you? So much about this plan can go wrong. I’ve done enough undercover ops to know that nothing goes the way you think it will when you’re setting someone up. I get it though. I’m mad too.

Ana, please. I appreciate the intent but he’s already painting himself the victim we do not need to have something that ends up fueling that more. 

When If he does? Then we make a better case and stop him. Hope for a break with better evidence. And hope that evidence isn’t someone seriously hurt. It’s not a great answer, but it’s how it works.

I can’t really get into the details but trust that had we had the evidence to charge him, we would have. I see plenty of the same, Dr, Reznick. You’re not being asked to like how it is.
