New update: world map has been divided into five, and regional maps have been added, each of which are divided into two.

I’m sorry if this is significantly more complicated, but I’m hoping to avoid the annoying “my save was removed,” issue by dividing the traffic to different maps. Please remember that things tend to be chaos when maps are initially release. Thanks for your patience!

If you managed to get your clan onto the old map, there’s no need to add it to the new map. We’d appreciate it if you waited for traffic to die down before doing so, in order to give users who don’t have their lairs up yet a chance.

Another project dragon obtained! Meet Pahoehoe! He's Obsidian/Fire/Orange and exactly the kind of fire dragon I wanted. I purchased him as a noodle, then used a breed change and gembond scroll on him. Hooray!

Bar and Daub are cool but I’m waiting for new gem market genes. Their [bar/daub] popularity will die down pretty quickly just the same as ripple and current simply because they’re treasure genes and widely attainable.

The current gem-genes seem to have retained their value pretty well all this time. My dragons with iri/shim are still my best and highest sellers. Common sense is all it is, I realize. I do wonder what the artists have in store for the future.

I'm not entirely convinced that it is because iri/shim are gem genes, so much as they are probably the most beautiful. I like iri/shim dragons, not because I think they are difficult or valuable to breed or obtain, but because they are SHINY. Bar/daub are just gorgeous (and I've been waiting foreeever for them), but they still don't outshine iridescence for me, even though I will be applying them to a few dragons.

But this doesn’t apply just to spotted grasshoppers, of course. Any especially vibrant or unique insect is a candidate for a fae’s collection. Mutated insects, like those with extra heads or wings, are particularly prized. Faes (and some other breeds) will make long journeys to the legendary Zeadrii’s lair in the depths of the Shrieking Wilds to look at her impressive collection of around fifty million entomological discoveries.

Addendum: It is rumored that, in the bowels of Zeadrii’s lair, there is a pinned Ridgeback who attempted to ‘borrow’ some of her specimens.

Ridgebacks come with pins, all you have to do is shove them against the wall hard enough that they can’t pull back out.

After doing the size chart, I thought it would be interesting to size some dragons with their familiars...at least how I imagine the size of the familiars to be.

In order:

Aa, with his Smoke Gyr, sized roughly the same as a large raptor.

Niayde with her Dark-tufted Sparrowmouse, which I imagine being even slightly smaller than I depicted, but didn't go any smaller for recognition's sake.

Frederick and Dael with their Radioactive Slime and River Muck, which I imagine being about waist height to a human.

Lieda with her Peacock Firebird, which I imagine as a really large bird.

Aushi with her Mock Firebird, which is the same size as Lieda's firebird, but is a significantly smaller dragon.

Arvani with her Longneck Skirmisher, which I imagine being slightly smaller than a human.

Solstice with his Stonewatch Harpy, which I imagine is the size of a human.

Bryophyta with her Chimera, which I imagine being about the size of a larger lion.

Illapa with his Bluerige Greatshell, which I imagine being quite large.

Cappid with his Umbra Wolf, which I sized to be a large wolf.

Made a size chart for my own reference, of dragons from my lair (based on Uropygid's wonderful chart!). Only species not included, as I have none in my lair, is tundra (would fit in between wildclaw and skydancer) and fae (would be smaller than the spiral). Added "outerglow" on the dragons so it's easier to differentiate where one begins and the other ends.

Funny to think you can breed imperials with spirals...I feel very bad for the female spirals.

My progen, Patina, is now a Ripple/Current (no Smoke or any tert, because the jungle color just does not look good on her with any existing tert genes).

I really did not like Ripple when it came out, mostly because I was sad we didn't get Bar or Daub, which I'm looking forward to, and it looks like weird stretch marks with most colors. Well, paired with Current and on her particular colors, I thought it looked really nice. Ripple is also the first primary that I didn't feel changed her personality, as dopey as that is to fret over.

The bottom two images are her as I made her, then her with Eye Spots for a while. I think I would like to give her mate, Rust, the same treatment, so it's time to start saving that treasure again!
