Omg I didn't have my camera butcher a painting this badly in ages π
But it is done!! And I swear there are actually brown/red hues in there, my phone just hates me. I'll try again today, maybe natural light will make it a bit better... also I might add some gold leaf specks as little embers, but not sure about that yet, it might be too much?
This one was already on my list but I was fueled by revenge to make this one as epic as possible! Axel is such a great design for a barbarian and him having hair let me play into my favorite trait to do with barbarians. The puffed up cat hair! I do not know what it is about the two barbarians I have drawn but the feral hissing cat energy with poofy hair just feels right. I think it adds to the menace!
The flames in the background were inspired by him being a fire based dragonborn and used techniques I've learned since one of my favorite pieces back in inktober last year. All and all this piece is a favorite of mine even if I really wanted to give them a two person masterpiece like they gave me. I feel this single a great reference for a party of how scary your team barbarian can be!
