Banana Girl (바나나걸) is well 🤔 technically not a girl group but in a way they were. Banana Girl debuted under Big Hit 👀 yes that one, and was a project group with a rotational singer and guess singer system. So Banana Girl isn't exactly one person it's multiple so in a way....kinda a girl group? I'm sneaking them in because we need to preserve HERstory especially since like none of their music is available, atleast of American streaming services idk about Melon etc. So I gathered what I could and will be adding what I can.

Let's first talk about the original Banana Girl led by Ahn Suzie ! She only released one album, Chapter 1, in 2003. The album spawned the lead single 엉덩이 (Hip Song). The song was pretty popularish on variety shows for it's fun campy eurodance vibe.

As for other content from this album / Ahn Suzie I could find. I found a official remix of Hip Song. A random YouTube channel that uploads random songs uploaded track 11 of the album "Time (Jeppet Twin Star Remix)". That song is a slow twisted europop themed vibe with a eerie atmosphere. And unfortunately that is that for this album, again perhaps Korean music sites etc might have more but that's beyond me.

As for Ahn Suzie I found a clip of her from Masked Singer, she returned to perform Hip Song on that Sugarman show and the legend himself, Yoo Jae-suk, was jamming out with Dara of 2NE1 to her stage. She has performed the song multiple times, with many different fun band arrangements, so she's a one hit wonder.

She has since returned to singing in 2017. Releasing OSTs and occasional single but still performs Hip Song now and then. I did a skimmy through her singles and chose 2 to showcase 🧐

사이 (Between) is a super cool groovy jazzy number, if you enjoy the ambience of Persona 5 music or a real Jazz enjoyer you'd like this, her vocals sound great and the band is really vibing together.

The other song 청춘의 덫 (Trap of youth) has that romantic Paris France feel. You don't hear accordions in music too often and this was a catchy bop.
