Orchestrate Social Media effectively for your event
Social media is now indispensable to planners and marketers for disseminating information about events and meetings, interacting with attendees, and creating engagement with a target audience.
With the star of new tools like Snapchat on the rise and the bright future of VR established, here are our thoughts about where social media for events is headed in 2016.
Go the Snapchat Way
With the burgeoning growth of Snapchat, it’s clear that video will constitute the highest consumed content on the internet and most of it will be on your phone - 69% to be precise.
Quite a number. Now, Snapchat hasn’t released its API yet and it doesn’t seem like they will anytime soon.
But they have taken a step in that direction by reaching out to ad agencies to get a feel for what they would expect from an API, hypothetically of course.
Well.
Also, with Facebook and Instagram having had significant success with their APIs, it’s only a matter of time.
What Events and Brands have to realize is - whether it is Facebook live, or live streaming on Twitter (periscope) - their fans dig “behind the scenes” big time.
Get their celebrity ambassadors to talk openly like they naturally would; spare your viewers the tinsel town rah rah - and you’ve got your viewers engaged.
Case in point, the Live coverage of the Oscars had a global viewership of 36.6 million. Let that sink in for a moment. Pause. Now go “Holy Moly!!!”.
If that does not establish Snapchat as the number 1 tool for a marketer in 2016 nothing else will.
And because we don’t know how VR is going to influence the video marketing scene that well yet, it’s comically undiscerning to write it off.
Manage your Social Media Feed
But don’t go crazy while doing it. It’s only natural that being a big event management company, you would have multiple social accounts and gazillion interactions to crawl from everywhere.
Let alone the prospect of sifting through them to adjudge a winner of a contest you’re engaging your audience with.
Eventifier helps you manage all the social media chatter your event attracts on the myriad of platforms, and brings it all in one place in a brilliant looking wall.
One that you can place on display on the large screen at your venue.
An ever changing dynamic social hub that keeps updating new interactions users make with your event specific hashtag.
A unique hashtag with which the target audience relates your event.
It could be anything - from a conference, a meetup, an in-stadium fans’ engagements (UGC) during a football match for that matter.
You can project the social media hub in a grid layout or a custom display using your discretion. It’s brilliant. And indispensable.
Easily shareable content is the best content
The number one rule in in the post iPhone era is - make your user’s life easier. Spoil them. And don’t ever make them work.
Especially if you want them to share your event/brand related content. Make it as simple as a duck-soup Click To Tweet.
Knowing this, we’ve made Eventifier’s live wall a walk in the park for the brand (or the event marketer), to re-share (retweet) a user generated content through their social media account - from the moderated wall itself.
A repository of dynamic tweets and facebook posts. Ready to be shared.
So when you spot a great post from one of your fans or attendees, you can repost it from the live wall itself - with just a click.
You can easily browse through and pick up an intuitive question that one of your audience members want to ask the panel of speakers at the conference.
Engagement hasn’t been any more natural and instinctive than it is today. And we are helping it become even more so.
