Even In Military Time

Actually, I didn’t know what I was getting into. There is no class, or warning that could prepare me for this life. No way to fully know what I was getting into. How do you prepare for the loneliness? How do you know that the military is like a mistress? That more often than not, you have to be there for yourself. But also, for experiencing your first kiss again. I could’ve never known how proud I would be when you get promoted, or complete training. So no, I really didn’t know what I was getting into. But who does?
