The blonde hybrid had finished hunting when sheâd found herself a good enough tree trunk to lounge on, grateful the rain had died down enough to provide her with a sliver of sunlight through the trees. It had been an eventful few days for her following her move to the rainy town, and most of her time had been spent unpacking, enrolling in classes, and exploring the small town. Really, the small town didnât have a whole lot to offer, but the town sheâd grown up in had been half the size and sheâd barely managed explore that under her motherâs thumb, so she was grateful for whatever she could get, even if it did never seem to stop raining.
Skimming through the pages of the Jane Austen novel sheâd picked up at the library, Evelyn almost missed the crunching of the leaves that alerted to someone passing by. Realising after a few moments that she still wasnât alone, she sought out the newcomer with her gaze. âIâm sorry, I didnât realise anyone else would be out here.â
