With your permission, I will write here about FACTS Comic Con in Belgium. I love to read stories about how peaple met David, so I know how cool it is when someone write about it.This story is not unusual, but still I am pleased to recall about that day.
So,
We were lucky to meet him three times on that day. To say we were worried is to say nothing. We were excited so much and we had to rehearse everything we did for not to disgrace ourselves at the moments of the meet, so much moral strength for looking good, but everything was going not by the plan anyway :D
The first time: Autographs.
We were one of the first to go, thanks to the VIP-badge. Moreover, I did not buy an autograph, but the organizers allowed me to stand in a queue to give him a present. What kind of people! When the moment came, it seems I was covered with three-layer goosebumps and forgot all the words .. He sat at that table and very nicely communicated with everyone. And not even repeated in his chats.
Dark brown jumper, from under it was a white monkey-T-shirt (one of my favorites!). Not a man, but a walking PaulSmith, as usual. :D He had a very cool hairstyle (which by the evening was already wrinkled, but in the morning his hair looked really great). And with his disheveled mane and knitted jumper with a zipper, he still was so refined and elegant... with his huge eyes and the visible warmth that emanated from his smile, he looked everyone in the eye and generously distributed handshakes. When the line came to me, I said that I did not need an autograph and I just wanted to give him a small souvenir. He smiled, made a surprised face, looked inside the paperbag and said "Oh, great! New portion of beautiful socks, thaaank you!" and reached out to shake my hand. His palms are warm and strong, by the way. We exchanged a couple more phrases and I walked way with the mutual "See you later". I was walking squeezing my hand tightly, and stopping to close my eyes or face.  ... David is like a cure-module in a game - the moment that instantly makes up for all your lost XP.
The second time:Â A photo.
We were first in line, missed forward only two people in wheelchairs. Everything happened faster than I could have imagined. So fast that I didn't have time to realize what happened and remember it. Before that, I was not going to hug him with both hands, it seemed to me it is not very acceptable. But when my turn came, he spread his arms with his "Hiiii!", grabed me in the hugs and I automatically hugged him too, while forgetting to open my eyes to the end. XD As a result, I got some kind of drunk photo)) Damn!) XD He smells freshness, and his sweater is really soft, and it is slightly cold, as if just it's from the outdoors.
Honestly, I still don't believe he hugged me. Only due to this "drunk" photo I can believe in the reality of what was happening.
The third time: The Q&A Panel.
We arrived in advance, but we still could not sit closer than on the third row. Some of our friends are more fortunate :) But it was still pretty close. He ran to the stage under stormy ovations, pointed to his huge portrait in the role of the Doctor. And he showed with gestures like âIs it really me? It seems, I got bigger!â XD Then he greeted everyone, but the microphone did not work, and he had to wait until they brought another one. This is the merit of my friend Maria, before whom I bow for the endurance of her hands. I intercepted her phone for about seven minutes, and during that time my hands almost fallen off.
Unfortunately, we we could not ask anything, although we had a lot of questions. We were preparing for it a lot but we were unlucky XD... But there were many of people who did it.Thank you very much, David, for coming there, thanks for the handshakes, for the hugs, for the shining, warmth and openness to all the fans, I missed you so much, but now, damn it, I miss you much more.
