The gift of a six month reprieve aboveground is never taken for granted. It wasn't without its trials— ( for instance, Eurydice wishes to forget the other six months out of the year entirely ) but as fickle as the gods may be, even Lady Persephone herself at last saw fit to temper the cruelty the lovers had been dealt. Six precious months, to walk in the sun again, flowers soft beneath her heels.

His voice carries on the wind, a fair breeze that rustles the sturdy oak trees above, and Orpheus' smiling face is the very first thing her eyes catch once clear of the shroud of greenery.

“ You're early, ” She greets softly, sing-song, teasing laughter bubbling from her upturned lips. Her arms extend in an instant, reaching for him eagerly, taking the remaining steps to close the gap between them.
