The region of Massana contains the second largest ski resort in the country, ‘Pal-Arinsal’. Elevations range from 1550 to 2650m. This resort has 63km of slopes and 23 lifts.

The main attraction of Berat is the Fortress, & the neighborhood inside. The settlement was traditionally a Christian neighborhood with over 20 churches. Now, less than 12 remain.

The most prominent feature of Berat is the cluster of white Ottoman houses that ascend up the hill to the castle. That is why it gets the nickname, ‘the city of a thousand windows’.

To get to the blue eye, you can take a taxi or a furgon that travels between Saranda & Gjirokastra. The furgon will stop you 2 km away from the spring, however the walk is worth it.

The blue eye is a natural phenomenon that produces endless bubbles. The exact depth of the spring is unknown, however it has said to be more than 50 metres.

Butrint was an ancient settlement for the Greeks, Romans, & Byzantines. The national park covers 29sq km. The Greeks from Corfu first settled in the region on a hill in 6th century BC.

Once you enter Butrint, you’re greeted by a 3rd Century BC Greek Theater. The theater could hold 2500 spectators. You’re then welcomed by the framework of a large 6th century Basilica.
