‘life begins at conception’ is also a very, VERY recent stance even by religious conservatives of any faction for most of history there were two definitions of at what point life started - at first breath, as in the first breath after birth often considered the point at which the baby obtained a soul - ‘the quickening’, as in when the mother first feels noticeable motion such as a kick around the halfway mark of the pregnancy, considered also to be the point at which a soul was added to the baby both of which are far after the point of medical abortions both of which make infinitely more medical sense then conception as the metric when you consider what the rates of fertilized embryos miscarry and for most of history its bonkers how many pregnancies never came to term and if you lost much sleep over it you would never have gotten far in life

Just because you “function” doesn’t mean you don’t deserve help.

one of the key points of trauma recovery is learning to let go the idea of getting back to “who i was before”. your trauma has shaped you and that’s okay. recovery is learning how to live with what happened rather than getting rid of it, even if that feels impossible at the moment
