I wished Brabanzio would have played a larger part in the greater half of the play. It could've been more interesting if he were involved, on either Iago/Othello's side or Desdemona/Emilia.

Richard is more cunning and evil than Aaron the Moor in Titus. Richard brought about his own demise, and selfishly cut down everyone in his way. The ghosts were very symbolic to the play. When Richard saw the body count, he finally realized his evil actions. It was likely significant for the audience, too, in that there was physical representations of those he killed.

Antonio (The Merchant of Venice, Act I scene i)

I don't like how Shylock was manipulated out of his own contract. Even though Antonio was freed from what seemed an inevitable act, it didn't seem right to go above and beyond the law (of their contract) just to save him. Shylock was proud of his religion, and being forced into Christianity didn't seem to be a valuable, lesson-learned type punishment. That probably reflects how stigmatized Jewish people were in Shakespeare's time.

Ariel reminded me of Peeves and Caliban reminded me of Dobby from Harry Potter.  Prospero imprisoned both of them for his own selfish needs. Peeves was present throughout all the Harry Potter books, and created mischief all over Hogwarts. Caliban is Dobby's equal. Both are disfigured (though Dobby's just a house elf) and are servants to rude families. Automatically I felt bad for Caliban and Ariel because this is -basically- the only life they know and will ever come to know. I'm glad that Prospero followed through with freeing Ariel, at first I wasn't sure he would.
