Othello Discussion
Othello was so happy, so certain of his love for Desdemona and her purity for him only. In manipulative words, Iago turned the couple's lives upside down. I was really hoping Othello would see through Iago's BS and have as much faith as he did in the beginning. Desdemona was a pure person, in and out. I don't see any stock in Iago's eviliness. Sure, he was mad at Othello, but really, did a lieutenant's title mean that much? ...and how he just assumed Othello slept with Emilia - it illuminates Iago's insecurities and cowardice.
I wished Brabanzio would have played a larger part in the greater half of the play. It could've been more interesting if he were involved, on either Iago/Othello's side or Desdemona/Emilia.Â
