The internet is terrifyingly beautiful place.

But one important truth remains:

Humans were never meant to have instant access to each other.

For centuries communication was limited to letters, carrier pigeons, smoke signals...

Even if you had an important message for someone there was a constant theme - you had to wait.

As amazing as it is to be able to connect with whomever you want, whenever you want, it also has signifigantly changed how our nervous systems are wired.

We live attached to ours phone, scared of missing an important notification. Anxious, dependent, on high alert.

There are things that aren't meant to be obtained within an instant.

Communication is one of them....

And that's what this song is about.

Two years ago, during a break from the screen, a body of work called "Morse Code" was born.

The concept is music allows meaning that words cannot describe. Some of the songs include actual audio samples of morse code.

I feel like I lost my artistic inspiration after this project. I've been waiting a long time to get it back, but it feels like it's returned.

Could the timing be a coincidence or a part of something greater?

I filmed a K-pop-inspired music video on my iPhone 📱✨

No crew. No production team. Just a girl, a dream, and a tripod.

This Is Not A Sad Song represents my journey, which began almost 5 years ago, in my bedroom in South Korea.

I was simply writing in an attempt to see dull circumstances in a more positive light. Today, it reminds me that slow growth is still growth — and that if you look at things a little bit differently, perhaps you may realize that this is not a sad song.

I think of all the commodities of life, the one I struggle with the most is loss.

Loss of a friend.

Relationships.

Materials.

Memories.

I grow fondly attached to all of them regardless of the circumstances.

Mistreatment.

Resentment.

Items which are withered and torn apart.

Stuck in the closet for years upon end.

But can never bring myself to throw away.

It’s an unfortunate sentiment that plagues me.

Does anyone else feel this way?

From the outside looking in it feels like people are quick to discard their battered items.

Strained relations.

But I always hold on. I always wish. I always hope.

Until it’s too late, and the ashes are pryed out of my limp hands.

Defeated.

Left alone to grieve.
