I Photographed The Invisible Light That Plants Emit
Craig Burrows
Photon-packing generalist photographer with a penchant for weird and surreal forms of light.
I’ve photographed hundreds of glowing flowers since 2014 after seeing Oleksandr Holovachov’s work with ultraviolet-induced visible fluorescence (UVIVF) photography.
Each time I do a set of UVIVF photos, it starts with going out under the cover of darkness to snatch unsuspecting flowers growing around the neighborhood. I rarely know what to expect from a flower before I get it back to shoot. Some I think will dazzle end up flopping, and others I am surprised by their colors or light. Every one is a surprise!
In the same way a tee-shirt blue glows under a black light, most organic material glows at least a little with UV stimulation and in all kinds of colors. To make the most of it, I make sure I’m working in the darkest environment I can and use a 365nm light so the camera can’t see the UV light.
Any time the flowers are hit by sunlight, they’re letting off their own glow in response and it’s simply overwhelmed by the sunlight we can see. These photos capture something we always see, but never can observe. More info: cpburrows.com|| H/T Bored Panda

Negative Space Inspired Interiors By Mungo Thomson
Working with negative space, contemporary visual concept artist Mungo Thomson from Los Angeles, California has created a series of murals depicting his interpretation of ‘Negative Space’. Taken literally, these fascinating murals seem to depict an inverted view of space in a purer, lighter form. Thomson’s interest in what he calls ‘the dumb idea’, is something simple yet unique – making his work very recognisable and transformational in a interior setting. Works can be found across the globe, in locations such as Vancouver, Brussels, New York and California.
Modern birds are descended from dinosaurs.
Therefore modern rubber duckies are descendants of those hollow mouth-agape cheap toy dinosaurs.
Toy researchers are left only with theories as to how ‘missing link’ may have appeared, but new data is uncovered every day.

Ancient Trees: Beth Moon Spends 14 Years Photographing World’s Oldest Trees
Beth Moon, a photographer based in San Francisco, has been searching for the world’s oldest trees for the past 14 years. She has traveled all around the globe to capture the most magnificent trees that grow in remote locations and look as old as the world itself.
“Standing as the earth’s largest and oldest living monuments, I believe these symbolic trees will take on a greater significance, especially at a time when our focus is directed at finding better ways to live with the environment” writes Moon in her artist statement.
Sixty of Beth Moon’s duotone photos were published in a book titled “Ancient Trees: Portraits Of Time”. Here you can have a sneak preview of the book, full of strangest and most magnificent trees ever.
