âJonas, hva i helvete?! Where are you? Pick up!â Eva hissed into her phone as partygoers passed her by, smiling at them sheepishly as she moved out of their way. Heâd promised to meet her there, on the corner, but he was late. Again. Turning in her spot, Eva sighed in frustration, watching her peers head around the corner, toward the music. Noora had already confirmed she was sick, and none of them had heard from Adeline much lately. The other girls weren't responding and it left Eva fretting. She really didnât want to go in there alone.
Eskild gasped when he looked up from his phone, equal parts surprised and pleased to see her. "â Is that Eva?! Hei, kjĂŚre. What are you doing loitering out here?" He pulled her in for a hug and kiss before moving back, holding her at arm's length for a moment. "Girl, do not tell Noora you saw me here tonight, I mean it. She will kill me. She made me promise not to come but I was far too curious to stay away."
NEW GIRL 6.06 - Ready
Adrian slumped himself down onto the pavement, freshly lit joint in hand, his tired eyes struggling to remain open. He'd been alone last night, and had attempted to sleep on an argument, so naturally the nightmares that'd followed had made him feel as though he'd had no rest at all. None of them were of his own creation, most of them a compilation of horrific rebel memories distorted by a fabricated dreamscape, ones he'd also become trapped in. As much as he'd tried to soothe every person he came across, eventually his spirit battery ran dry, which had resulted in his now hangover. He'd messaged Mickey as soon as socially possible, bunking off training in the process, so he could collect the first drug he'd sought on since he'd started sleeping with Eddie. Adrian knew the relief that began to sink over him after his first drag would be temporary. It would only momentarily curve the guilt by subduing the side effects of his excessive magic use. Falling back into old coping mechanisms and missing important sessions would also not be without consequence, because if Eddie didn't scold him, Alec or Benji certainly would. It that was all interlinked with the core problem, the sole reason Adrian had returned to his dismissive defiance in the first place. The system. The rules and regulations set before his time that controlled their entire group, that purposely formed relationships designed to break. The system had given him Eddie, but would also be to blame if Adrian were to lose him. A person he loved was being trained to die for him. The argument he'd had with his guardian last night had brought upon the realisation, and now Adrian's mind was poisoned by it, imagining every horrific outcome. As he sat there, cool breeze flowing over his skin, he had to accept that weed wasn't enough to distract him from that. Once his joint neared it's end, the Moroi noticed a shadow crossing his vision, causing him to duck his head, as if it would hide his face. Adrian suspected it was one of his peers, finally arriving to escort him to the training centre. "I'm trying to relax. If you could save the lecture for another time, it'd be greatly appreciated."
âOh, honey, it isnât your mother, ikke bekymre deg. No worry.â Eskild frowned at the remark, moving to squat by his side. âEven in the cold light of day, I know who you are. Iâd recognise those baby blues anywhere,â he grinned. Unfortunately, he had no idea what the manâs name actually was, but heâd served him plenty of times at Barcelo. He mightâve shared his own once, but doubted the stranger was sober enough to remember regardless. It was shameful they hadnât been properly introduced. âEskild,â he announced, curling out a hand. âFinally, we have the formal pleasure.â

isak âwhat the hell is going onâ valtersen
I will tell you one thing about these people you donât want to be associated with, Isak. About the people who have put on tights and mascara, and gone out to fight for the right to be themselves. These are people who have chosen to stand their ground, even while being harassed and experiencing hate. Who have been assaulted and killed. And itâs not because theyâre so extremely keen on being different, but because theyâd rather die than be someone theyâre not. That, Isak, takes courage on such a completely different level, than most people are able to understand. And I believe that before you have fought that battle yourself⌠Before you have the guts to stand up for who you are⌠You should be really fucking careful about putting yourself above Gay Pride.

The person sheâd yelled at soon scuttered off after her outburst, shifting Effyâs focus to the boy on the phone. Her eyes narrowed in irritation when she noticed his eyeline, directed towards her. âHello, can I fucking help you? Do you find this funny, or are you waiting for a bloody selfie?â
Eskild stared in awe for a moment, not having expected to be called out. But he quickly recovered, pleased with the idea. Her hostility didnât bother him in the slightest. âActually, a selfie would be fantastisk. You are literally stunning.â Confident now, he approached properly, reaching her property. But the closer he got, the more he recognised her, now realising he might actually be in the presence of a celebrity. âHaven't I seen you somewhere before? Plastered across our screens?â

âIf I see one more piece of litter outside of my house I am going to lose my shit. Stop being messy cunts. This is my fucking house! Clean your shit up. Clean. It. Up. Do you think I want to see your shitty gum wrappers floating in my rose bushes? Iâm tired. Fuck it off.âÂ
âHerregud,â he muttered into the phone pressed against his ear, watching from the sidelines as the woman screamed at passing residents. âI have to go, Noora. Thereâs a lady here more entertaining than âThe Real Housewives of Panemâ.â
eskild or noora
send me a â with two names and iâll tell you whom my muse would save.
âNoora. Maybe that'll teach Eskild not to eat all my fuckin' crumpets."
âAre you? Seriously?â Noah didnât know much about gurus, or if Eskild was even being serious, but it sounded helpful. âMaybe I should meet some of these drunks. âCause Iâd probably make them all look like fuckinâ saints.â The way heâd been behaving since heâd lost Ella, perhaps even before then, would surely make them look like better people. Compared to the other victors, he was one of the rare few who couldnât even attempt to mask his trauma. He looked weak in comparison, but simultaneously showed them up for who they truly were, under the surface. It was no longer a burden he wanted to bear, but every time he attempted to make progress, the withdrawal set him back. âUh â sleeping. They have normal jobs, they work hard. Theyâre in bed by ten, preparing for the next day.â
Noah was unsure whether a cuddle would help him, considering how difficult it already was for him to be in such close proximity to a human, but the company certainly sounded nice. It certainly beat going home to Casper and Effy and facing their disappointment, anyway. Strangers had less right to pass judgement in his eyes, and it was easier to forget if he fucked it up. So, for the first time that evening, he genuinely smiled. âI wouldnât be so sure of that. If I were them, Iâd kick me out the second I tried to walk through the door.â Deciding to trust Eskild despite his own words, though, Noah took the hand that was offered and allowed himself to be helped up. âYou sure this is okay? âCause I can find somewhere else. I donât want your friends to have to deal with my shit too.â
âOf course,â he tutted, waving it off. Truthful or not, Eskild was more than willing to commit to the role. He loved helping people â and being involved. âThatâs just the drink talking, darling. Things are always better than they seem.â Sure, Eskild didnât know anything about Noahâs life or past behaviour, but he believed in that. Self-talk was incredibly powerful. âSaying things like this dig you into a hole, ja? Deeper and deeper. But you donât have to make the hole so deep. Youâre still here, youâre still talking. Youâre far from the worst, okay?â He accompanied his assurance with a squeeze of Noahâs arm, hoping it would help. It was so easy to be miserable when you werenât sober, Eskild assuming he wasnât. âWhat have you had tonight, honey?â If Eskild was to look after him, heâd rather know what he was dealing with. He couldnât help but grimace at normal jobs, unable to think of much worse. Of course, he had to get one himself soon, unable to freeload much longer, but it didnât mean heâd enjoy it. He was hardly built for the nine-to-five life.
âUgh. I nearly fell asleep just thinking about that. But you are still the priority over work, donât you think? Normal jobs can always wait. Sleep can always wait! Iâm sure they would agree.â And if they didnât, then Noah desperately needed new friends, something Eskild was more than happy to help with.
Seeing Noah finally smile was a relief, Eskild mirroring the expression. He was glad to have made some kind of difference, no matter how small. âOh please, donât worry about them,â he waved a hand. âThey try and do the same thing to me everyday, but I always find a way. Iâm in their hearts you see, whether they like it or not.â With a grin, Eskild pulled the vampire to his feet, and upon hearing further doubts, threw his arm around the otherâs shoulders, tucking them close together. âHush now, kitten. I donât want to hear any more worries. My friends will soon become your friends, and then we will all be in this together, ja? It is more than okay.â Truthfully, Eskild wasnât sure how the girls would react to him bringing home a stray, but they were far from unsympathetic, and he was sure theyâd be helping out too in no time. âThey can be a bit moody about the food, I will admit. Maybe stay out of the fridge until I can show you around properly. Noora has her own shelf and she takes it very seriously. If only she cared that much about her love life,â Eskild chatted idly, hoping to pass the time light-heartedly, feeling Noah stumble beside him.
Will McDonald & James Majoos as Ca$h & Darren Rivers Heartbreak High (2.04)
âYeah, yeah. Maybe.â Noah agreed, although he already knew the truth. He just wasnât ready to admit it, considering how long the story was. This wasnât a bender gone wrong, this was years of suffering, and the coping mechanisms Noah had created to help him manage his trauma. But those coping mechanisms hadnât been even remotely healthy, which meant recovery was now twice as hard. Two steps forward, one step back.
Noahâs back stiffened at the contact, his throat aching as the maleâs scent became more prevalent. He had enough willpower to avoid hurting anybody, but it meant hurting himself. Still, Noah was touch starved, so he leaned into it regardless, forcing himself not to breathe for those few short moments, and simply accept the affection heâd been offered. âThatâs nice and everything but uh â you donât even know me. How could you know that?â He questioned, genuine in his own lack of self worth. âIâm Noah. I do⌠have a few friends, but theyâre busy. It ainât their job to babysit me. Just thought Iâd sit here, for a while. Watch the birds... or some shit.â
âBecause Iâm a guru, darling. I know everything,â he replied matter-of-factly, shrugging his shoulders as he leant against Noah. âYouâre unwell enough to throw up in the street and still apologise to a stranger for it. Thatâs definitely not your typical drunk. And trust me, I know plenty.â Eskild raised his eyebrows and his head at Noahâs response. It made his heart heavy to see someone have no self-confidence, to isolate themselves from everything and everyone good for them. âNow donât be silly. Itâs after midnight, honey. What on earth could these friends of yours be doing? If Iâm not busy right now, theyâre not busy.â And if there was a party and he hadnât been invited, Eskild would make sure someone heard about it.
âBabysit, maybe not. But give you some water and a cuddle, yes. That is exactly what friends are for, ja?â Noahâs idea got more ridiculous, and Eskild tutted, waving his hand in the air. âOh, shush, there arenât any birds at this time of night. Câmon, kitten, if you donât want to go see your friends, then Iâll take you home with me, greit? We can have a cute sleepover. Iâm always little spoon, of course, but if you need a hug, I guess I can swap. Just for you,â Eskild reached out to pinch Noahâs nose before rising to his feet, outstretching his hand in offer. âMy roommates will love you, I just know it.â

The manâs reaction made Noah cringe with self embarrassment, but only for a moment. Because in the next, he was being helped, something heâd recently discovered the rebels often did. It was in their nature to support their neighbours, even when they were a withdrawing mess on some strangerâs driveway. âI know. I know itâs not. I havenât done anything, taken anything⌠itâs just --â Noah shook his head, hands wringing together in his lap. âI just feel fucked.â
The male sat down next to him, and his scent hit Noahâs nose, causing his throat to burn with hunger. So he quickly took the water bottle that was offered, unscrewing the cap and draining it of its contents. It wasnât what he truly desired, but it helped. âThanks. Thank you.â
Eskild raised an eyebrow at the seemingly younger male, not believing his explanation. âOkay⌠Maybe you just donât remember taking something, dear. It happens to the best of us,â he shrugged. Still, the strangerâs words were concerning, and triggered deep concern within Eskild. He was known for picking up strays, and helping people in need, and Noah would be no exception.
âYou poor darling,â he tilted his head to lean it against Noahâs shoulder with a sigh, snuggling closer. âIt isnât a nice feeling. I know it well. You mean more than being fucked up from something, ja? You do not have to sit by yourself in the street and feel this way. Surely someone as cute as you has some friends. Either way, you have one in me. Iâm Eskild,â he lifted his head to smile, watching the man drink. âYouâre welcome, kitten. What are you doing out here alone?â
Noah was unsure whether it was the lack of drugs, or the lack of human blood burdening him withdrawal symptoms, but he couldnât stop twitching. He sat on a wall outside of a strangerâs home, his legs shaking uncontrollably as hit bit his nails, trying to suppress his own nausea. Vampires weren't supposed to get sick, but he quickly learned that they were just as susceptible to weakness as he threw up onto the tiles in front of him. He wiped the residue off of his chin with his sleeve, shame hitting him as he glanced up, realising that someone had been watching him. âFuck. Fuck -- Iâm sorry. Really sorry. I just ââ need a fucking drink.Â
Eskild audibly gasped, taking a dramatic step back at the sight, as if the strangerâs vomit couldâve reached him. After watching him for a few moments, and hearing the apology, Eskild decided he was not common street trash, but in fact, cute, and in need of serious advice. He tutted, sitting down next to the seemingly younger man.
âNow, now, kitten, no need to be sorry. We all overdo it sometimes. But we have to learn from it, okay? Because holding our liquor is cute, and being messy on the street is very not cute. Here, have a sip,â he held out his near-empty water bottle, which heâd initially been planning to refill with vodka.
