you know looking back on it, i think it's fucking HILARIOUS how tumblr sold out to mjourny when every video and image and gif and soundbyte that gets uploaded to tumblr is absolutely CRUNCHED TO HELL AND BACK in some abysmally LOW quality processing in ADDITION to already needing to reduce file sizes

there's been times i've uploaded a painting, gone to bed, then realized the next day that tumblr processed the fuck out of it and made it look like absolute dogshit, and had a serious internal debate whether i should delete and try reuploading the post a different way or keep it because it had a ton of reblogs already, and reuploading would just kill any momentum it had

i knew all of this, experienced the Tumblr Crunch for years and years, and still deleted my original account when the sellout was announced, not realizing that shit is trained off of images with much better quality than tumblr's year-of-2008-grade-servers are capable of producing

(that said, still sucks that everyone's text posts and text reblogs are getting scraped, but it would make me deleriously happy if somehow mdjny got swindled into paying a higher price for every picture too just to get... whatever kind of quality tumblr serves)
