Hey! Pride month is coming up soon so here are things to remember:
dont get angry about “straight couples” at pride parades! one or both of the couple could be bi/pan/ace/demi/trans/nb or something else! plus! straight people are allowed at pride! they’re called allies!
don’t exclude any of the acronym! and don’t gatekeep! ace people are real, aro people are real, pan people are real, you don’t need crippling dysphoria (or any dysphoria at all!) to be trans or nb! Bi/pan people in same-sex relationships aren’t “more gay”! bi/pan people in different-sex relationships aren’t “more straight” or “acting”! bi/pan people aren’t confused and dont need to “pick a side”! ace/aro people aren’t “broken” and they don’t need to “just get used to it”!
Support and celebrate lgbtq+ members of color! pride can be a bit washed out at times
support and celebrate our disabled lgbtq+ members! they exist and they deserve to be uplifted too!
make sure that lgbtq+ youth know that they are not alone! especially if they live in negative/homophobic/abusive environments! they need the support!
have fun! be loud and proud about who you are! celebrate in any way you can! if you can go to pride parades, great! if you’re still closeted and cant go? that’s okay! talk to others you know! celebrate in quieter ways! just never be ashamed of who you are!
Sincerely, a pansexual agender 15 yr old who just wants people to feel included and have fun!
