i debated posting this because i think its terrible BUT i thought i must share with the world!! so, i was imagining what a possible future season might look like, and then i came up with the concept of an alice in wonderland esque season with some fairytale imagery. and here is nikita's card for that imagined season!! made using photoshop <3
as an english major, i am required to give my thoughts and interpretations around the card!! the base card includes fantasy type imagery, i didn't want to just use a playing card, i wanted the card to be specific to the season. the pink dragon scales in the background symbolise nikita as a whole for me. pink is also one of her signature colors, but the scales are connected to strength and power. as she's a winner, i really wanted to make her card unique and for this to come across, and also the dragon scales tie in with the fantasy theme!! i used a filter from the photoshop filter gallery to create this artistic image of nikita for the centre of the card. this picture especially screams nikita to me. the pose hints cockiness, she's done this before and she's aware of her advantage in this game. her putting on lipgloss links to her overwhelming desire to mask, it suggests a casualty that is not truly present. she appears put together and confident to mask the terror that still surrounds her, because even though she won't show it, she's still as terrified this season as she was in her first. i really focused on regal imagery throughout, featuring the sun behind her, she's a winner and she is a victor, and she weaves that into her identity. in many analytical psychological pieces, the sun represents the conscious ego, the self, and the vital life force. nikita advertises herself as a vital member of the group and boasts her winner status, but this is a mask for her insecurity, she fears being left behind and losing all of the reasons that people 'have' to like her. anyway, i worked hard on this and i hope you like it!! :)
