Kind of wild seeing this in 2025. This reminds me of how the Simpsons unintentionally became a period piece just by taking place in a time when a working class man could support his SAH wife, three kids, in a nice suburban home. But somehow darker or at least more pointed. Climate change/environmentalism was historically a bipartisan issue to the point that the writers didn’t see anything unusual about both our conservative Texan propane-loving everyman and his eccentric conspiracy theorist friend believing it, now has (intentionally) been polarized to the point where many many people with Hank’s background have been convinced to live in a different reality than… you know, reality.
