thinking about how “everyone has their issues” has negatively impacted me as a disabled person. my whole life I have struggled to allow myself the things I need, whether it be asking for accommodations or just living my life differently and taking breaks to accommodate my needs. because I am constantly comparing myself to more abled people because I was constantly told that “everyone has their issues.” so I always thought I had to be able to do what everyone else was doing, study full time work full time etc. if everyone had issues and they were still managing all these things, then I should be able to, too.
so now I’m a late twenty something who is constantly crying about “why do I feel like I can’t keep up” and “why can’t I just do what everyone else is doing” and I have to remind myself like. I literally have a bone disease. my body is constantly fighting battles that in fact, “everyone” else’s bodies are not fighting.
sure the shitty education system teaching young me that only visible mobility aids = disability didn’t help. sure having my disease since childhood and it therefore feeling “normal” to me didn’t help. but it’s largely because of “everyone has their issues” that I’m only just now realizing that actually, a lot of people are more abled than me. actually, not everyone has this particular issue and actually, I’m not lazy or a failure for needing to just Do Less. and yea I’m gonna go to a therapist about it
In the future they will invent a way to be in bed and in the shower at the same time with no negative repercussions and it will be history's most important invention
He's worried about stepping on flowers. He loves nature.
Wow thanks everyone ;v;
Mini lore snippet lol: at first I just doodled the cat alone in the middle of a page, but I loved him so much I just turned the page and drew the whole thing. He's so great.

Love letters from Tromsø
I saw a video today from a chronically ill woman about the fact you can feel so guilty when doing fun things.
She talks about how, as a kid, you learn to finish work before you can play and that you take this with you into adulthood. So you keep the mindset of having to finish 'have to' tasks/chores before being allowed to 'play'.
But when you're chronically ill, this is literally impossible! If you'd do that it would be all work and never play. That wouldn't be healthy at all. We need to remind ourselves of this. We don't need to feel guilty for doing something fun!
In honor of the news today
