Nikolas Mattia

Plant Manipulation

                At twenty-four years old, Nikolas Mattia lives a fairly relaxed life in Eriwall in a condo in midtown. He started and owns his own landscaping company that he started when he was twenty after he got out of college, and being the only one in town, does pretty well. Of course his abilities are definitely helpful in what he does, but he really has an eye for design when it comes to Eriwall's lawns.

                His abilities definitely make the job a little easier. Since he's able to control plant life, he can be sure that everything takes root and grows well as soon as it's planted, and make sure they grow in just the shape he wants (he's great at decorative topiary trees).

                His father passed away three years back of a heart condition, and his mother lives on her own, though Nikolas makes sure he visits her at least once a week to check up on her. Their family was always one that was talked about, because while his mother had powers, his father was a Normal. No one knew for sure if Nikolas would have powers, though his father didn't have a hard time figuring it out when he gave Nikolas a little plot in the families garden, and he was able to grow more peas than they knew what to do with.

Tobias Joel Cipriani

Cambion

FC: Diego Klattenhoff

                Often going by TJ, Tobias lives a fairly easy life for being the son of a demon. He is rather well balanced between his mother's and father's heritage, always having been stronger and quicker to learn than other kids, but he knew when to hold back. He lives with his human father, and hasn't seen his mother since he was four, but doesn't mind much. She wasn't particularly nice, and he never really cared for the woman.

                Now twenty-four, he's an assistant manager at the only inn in town, famous for driving away anyone who didn't belong in Eriwall, and who they wouldn't want to risk returning. TJ is one of their best at ensuring that they guests hardly have a nice stay, though he sometimes makes a little too much of a show about it.

                Being a cambion comes with more than just a few perks; TJ is an empath, and can sense and easily imitate the emotions or mood of others. He also has what is referred to as enhanced condition, meaning he is at the peak human condition, though he has to put little effort into staying that way. His aging started decelerating when he turned eighteen, though no one is very sure exactly how long he'll live. TJ is also gifted with telekinesis, and a certain amount of memory manipulation. He hasn't mastered completely changing memories, but he can change smaller details and erase parts.

Annika Thomson

Sensory Scrying

                Varsity soccer player and chamber choir member, Annika Kameron Thomson refuses to live life in the slow lane. She lives life in the moment, and doesn't like dwelling in the past or worrying about the future. It isn't exactly a good thing, but she's generally fairly happy in life.

                Sensory scrying allows Annika to experience the world from anyone's point of view that she pleases. She can see, hear, taste, feel, and smell whatever someone else is, though is unable to influence any of it. She is limited in the fact that she had no control over her own body when she is invading someone else's, and is essentially like an empty shell until she returns.

                Her parents first found out about her powers when her mom was having a glass of wine, and Annika came in a few minutes later to tell her that, "the red drink tastes bad." They quickly took her to the doctor, worrying that she had somehow drank some of the wine, but the doctor found that there was no alcohol in her system at all. They were curious if it was a sign of her powers coming in, since sensory scrying wasn't an unheard of ability. They kept a close eye on her for the next few months, and determined that that was definitely it.

Oh, well thank you then! I'm glad you like it.

Um, no? His mother does have super strength and his dad is capable of sound infusion. Why? Did I mess up something?

                Jason Rae Marlette, born Janessa, is a sophomore enrolled at Eriwall Academy. He's a rather quiet young man in his classes, though he can become the life of the party if he's with his friends. He plays flute in the school's band, and loves taking art classes. He loves every kind of move from cheesy romantic comedies to thrillers, and has even starred in a few of the theater department's productions.

                Jason had always been more of a tomboy, and never liked dresses or skirts. He asked his mom if he could get his hair cut short in sixth grade, and she was a little hesitant at first, but allowed him to do so. He started binding his chest with ACE bandages the next year, and started referring to himself as a boy and calling himself Jason, and asked his closest friends to do so as well the year after that. The idea of telling his parents terrified him, and for a while, he thought he could just get away with being a boy at school, and be a girl at home. It worked for a few months, as he began asking his teachers to call him Jason, until the academy called his parents.

                They were more confused than anything, but once he explained, while they weren't overjoyed, they were alright with it. After a few weeks, Jason worked up the courage to ask his dad if they could get his name legally changed, so he wouldn't have teachers or other people calling him Janessa anymore. His dad say he was surprised he hadn't asked sooner; it was taken care of within a few months, and he was officially Jason Marlette.

                His brother Roman only told him that he had known it all along (even though he had only guessed), and is easily his biggest supporter. He wouldn't hesitate to kick the ass of anyone who gives Justin a hard time.

                To add to his childhood problems, with his mother possessing super strength, and his father being capable of sound infusion, it was only natural that Jason would inherit some kind of power as well. He didn't show any signs of any kind of power when he was a toddler, which was usually when a child's power was at its most uncontrollable. The only odd things they noticed was their own powers would occasionally seem lessened, though they figured it was their attention all being focused on taking care of a rather rambunctious child. She pushed it aside and gave the problem little mind until it didn't stop. It began getting worse before they finally decided to ask a friend of theirs. After no more than an hour with them and- at the time- Janessa, he told them, "She has the power to level the playing field."

                Jason is able to lessen the powers of those around him, and sometimes even completely block them out. He has to maintain a small amount of focus to do so, but he can only maintain it for so long (forty-eight minutes is his record).

Shadow Mimicry

                Born April 9th, 1997, Flannery Mae Campbell is known for having very little salience in a room, Flannery very much prefers to keep to herself. She's a very bright young lady, currently a freshman at Eriwall academy, and having skipped the seventh grade.

                She likes to consider herself a realist with pessimistic tendencies, and is fairly confident about herself in nearly every respect, namely her intelligence.  She does have a tendency to think of herself as brighter than most, and even though she is sometimes correct, Flannery doesn't exactly understand why she shouldn't flaunt it. She finds other people's ignorance or stupidity to be a waste of her time, and doesn't care to busy herself with other people's lives all that often.

                Often called or coming off as cynical, she really isn't. She likes to believe people are generally good even if they don't always act like it, and does care about of other people, even though she doesn't act like it.

                Flannery was born into a family with powers, and inherited hers from her mother, Karen. Known as shadow mimicry, she is capable of turning her body and any inanimate object with her (she must be in physical with it) into shadows. She can either keep her normal frame, but be composed of shadows, or flatten herself into a shadow, and blend into other people's shadows, or even travel through them.

                Flannery can be forced back into her normal form when bright light is shone on her, and she is unable to transform in complete darkness, as there is no light present to create shadows.

Headmaster of Eriwall Academy

Capable of manipulating the density of matter.

            Scottie is a fairly simple man with a love of nicely tailored suits, fine wines, and fine women. At a glance, you would have difficulty picturing him being the headmaster of one of the most selective private schools in the world, who is also charged with protecting said school. He is by far one of the most powerful people in Eriwall City, second only to the mayor.

            His parents owned a bakery in Martinsville, New Jersey, which he and his older brother of four years, Daniel, practically grew up in, since they lived above it. He  became aware of the fact that he wasn't quite normal when he dropped through the floor of his bedroom and landed down in the middle of the bakery when he was eleven, when there was no hole. He was able to play it off as if his parents hadn't noticed him come down, since no one had been present to see it happen, or so he thought. Daniel had been upstairs, and hadn't known what to think when his younger brother suddenly dropped through the floor. When Scottie acted like nothing had happened, Daniel did the same, though he was watching his brother much more closely.

            After a few more incidents over the course of three years, including Scottie accidentally running in front of someone riding a bike, and the person on the bike was the one who got hurt, Daniel realized his brother wasn't quite normal.

            All the while, Scottie had been very aware of what was going on and had taken every moment alone to hone his ability, and soon learned it wasn't just himself he could change, but he could throw water balloons through walls at rude tourists. His parents had become aware more quickly than Daniel had, and had made him agree to keep it a secret for the time being. When they were confronted by Daniel, they had to tell him everything. He had been about to leave for college at the time, and when he learned they had been keeping secrets from him for years, he left as quickly as possible. Scottie has only spoken with his brother a handful of times since.

            Scottie made it through high school and college without anymore incidents, graduating with honors. He had tended to keep to himself, never wanting anyone to know about what he could do. After graduation, he found a job in Eriwall City as a history teacher at Eriwall Academy; his father said he had known the Headmaster when they were younger, and was able to set him up with the position.

            What he hadn't known at the time was that the current Headmaster- Dr. Bridget Williamson- knew about his gift, and that he was teaching in a school full of kids who had the same problems he did. To put it simply, it didn't take him long to figure it out.

            When he was brave enough to confront the Headmistress, she then decided that it was her time to retire, and that Scottie would be the one to take her place. She explained to him that this school was for the purpose of ensuring the safety of every child who attended, and her duty, which would now be his, was to make sure that they would never even need to be worried about being hurt until they were old enough to take care of themselves. Scottie couldn't say no, and he has been Headmaster for six years now. He's thirty-eight.

            As carefree as he often behaves, he has no mercy for anyone who puts his students- who he lovingly calls his kids- at risk, and has been known for going a little over the top in eliminating any threats, and there have been more than just a few who didn't survive their injuries to be relocated.

           There have been more than a few rumors circulating that he may be involved with Eriwall's very lovely, and very single Mayor Adelaide Song, although no one actually has any proof, of course.
