Welcome to Tiny Town, Oregon-- an interesting town with a misleading name. A home to everyone from the unwitting humans who believe there are no things that go bump in the night to the demon blooded creatures who may see them as a meal. But as unordinary as the population may seem, the townspeople seem happy. Peaceful. Curious. And what is even more curious is the chat app that seems to pop up on half the populations cellphones, allowing them interaction with the most unlikely company. This town only seems to draw in the strangest of sorts. It’s an ever growing town-- but the word tiny never was meant to describe the size of the city... There’s a reason for everything-- for the application that may have appeared on your phone, for the mysterious area called the Weald, for all the odd things that seem to happen. There’s a reason you came and a reason you don’t want to leave. Everyone has secrets…And in this town, it seems someone is always watching. Don’t bother looking over your shoulder and don’t bother trying to delete Tiny Town Chat. In this town, there’s nothing you can really escape from… but maybe you can try to find some peace.

Your eyes finally open. You find yourself at a desk, the room surrounded in warm reds and low lights, unsure exactly how you ended up here. The plush seat beneath you is warm and you can only assume you’ve been here a while. Despite how abnormal this situation is, and how you can barely recall even leaving your house, you find yourself unable to feel any anxiety about the whole thing as that strange, low buzzing sounds the drones through the room melts your worries away and lulls you into ease. It’s so toasty and peaceful that you find yourself nodding off a little again… Maybe another five minutes?

That peace is disrupted slightly with the sound of a gentle click; the door unlatching itself. You look over lazily to see a blonde woman standing there with a file full of papers in hand. Though nothing immediately seems off to you there’s something about her presence that just feels… Wrong.

“Sorry to keep you waiting.”

She sits across from you, shuffling through her papers momentarily, before her attention to you and offering a smile that, despite its perceived warmth, makes your skin crawl.

“You have died. Your life as you know it is no more.”

You open your mouth to reply, to ask questions about the circumstances and the people you love, but she seems to either not notice or choose to ignore the shock on your face; She must be used to this by now and instead follows her protocol instead of soothing you.

“Everything in your life, every action you took or thought you had… Did you ever wonder if it meant something? If anyone was watching and judging?”

She smiles as she leans closer, pushing the file closer to you and turning to reveal just what is written on the label: Your Name.

“Surprise! We were~!”

The blonde only gives you a moment to look at the cover before pulling it away and opening to a random page, eyes skimming through the text, as she continues:

“You see, we’re here to judge you and determine if you deserve the afterlife we offer. And, my, there’s a lot to judge here~”

She hums in thought, placing a finger on her chin as she giggles to herself, before closing the file with a sigh.

“Unfortunately, the process is… lengthy. It may take years to truly judge you. Since there’s no other place to go, in the meantime, you will be housed here in Purgatory. Your accommodations have been arranged, and you don’t need to worry about an income; Jobs here are simply to keep you guys entertained. In short, all your needs will be met as a courtesy of the Parador for the duration of your stay. Understood?”

You nod and open your mouth, ready to ask a few questions, only to be cut off as the woman across from you stands swiftly and begins to make her way toward the entrance. She opens the door, gesturing to indicate the end of this interaction, as she bids you farewell.

“Well, it sure was a pleasure meeting you. John here will take you to your house now. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask the Parador, ok? I hope you have a great time in Purgatory, and may the scales tip in your favour.”
