Sent to the mansion in a golden box
Whatever may come, your heart i will choose ♡
When: October 26th, 2024 Notes: The wedding.
The last 24h until he walked down that isle were the most nerve-wracking and exciting that Erik had ever lived. His mind was in overdrive, overfilled with love and anxiety and all of the plans for the future, for that ceremony, for that night. He went to sleep wrapped around Seth, in what had grown to be their nest of blankets and pillows in the overgrown ballroom. Ever since they started dating, that was where they gravitated towards, it was special, it was theirs. The dragon knew, though, that it wasn't be for long.
Seth had no idea about it, but he had arranged for a surprise upstairs, the place that was still somehow referred to as "Erik's bedroom". It was never theirs, upstairs. Seth had always been too polite and too mindful of Erik's space, he wouldn't put his own clothes in their closet until Erik told him it was okay. The dragon was set on making the angel feel like this was home, the whole mansion, every inch of it was Seth's now, officially. So he had arranged to move their things upstairs, electricians would come over in the morning, after Chris had rightfully kidnapped Seth to get ready - since apparently it was bad luck for the groom to see... the other groom, the day of the wedding - and they'd change the lighting fixtures in the bedroom, installing dimming lights, much warmer and cozier than the bright ones he had before. That was most of the reason why they stayed in the ballroom in the first place - it had a soft, diffuse light, thanks to the tall windows, and they could see the overgrown garden outside. There were also new plants being moved upstairs, his favorite vines that sneaked up the glass outside were repotted and moved to the balcony, so they could still see the greenery first thing in the morning.
And then there was Chris's wedding gift.
When Erik reached out to the young wolf asking him to kidnap his holy groom and make sure Seth didn't come to the mansion until the ceremony, Chris asked why - because of course he did. And Erik might've been a bit too eager to talk about his plans, and the wolf was eager to listen, so the 30 minutes that followed were filled with quick hand gestures and squeals from the boy. Erik mentioned the only downside of moving upstairs was losing the view of the stars at night, and Chris asked why not set up a projector onto the ceiling. After explaining to the dragon what in hell's wide land was a projector, Erik was set in the idea. Chris, ever the thoughtful though, asked if he could make a "special projection" as a wedding gift. Confused, Erik agreed.
That's how, in the afternoon before his own wedding, the dragon was standing in the middle of his bedroom, the lights off and projector on, looking up with tears streaming down his face. Somehow - by technological witchcraft, he was certain - Christopher managed to emulate the perfect view of the sky back when he was first awake, 600 years ago. Erik recognized it right away, there were three times more stars, the sky was clear and bright, and he recognized some that weren't visible nowadays anymore.
This was home.
The idea that he was going to get to share it, all of it, with Seth made his heart beat so loud in his chest that Erik was certain Seth could hear it across town.
The hours that followed were a true test of his friendship with both Jason and Warren, since the dragon couldn't seem to stop talking. He did a last round, checking on the staff-
"Is the ballroom ready?" "Yes, sir." "What about the painting I told you to-" "Hung by the catering table, sir." "Did the gardeners finish-" "Yes, the overgrown is groomed to a respectable amount, sir." "Good. But did the cake-" "Already conditioned as to Master Seth's orders, sir."
And once Erik seemed to be either satisfied with the answers or ran out of questions, he moved to get ready. Having the Alfa werewolf of the Hollows Creek pack and war incarnate standing side by side in a room commenting about his hair was an experience, for sure, and Erik was glad they kept the eye roll count to a minimum every time he asked.
He could see the sun threatening to come down when Erik nodded one last time to his mirror, swallowing hard. The dragon pocketed the rings - of the purest of golds, forged from one of his scales - and his vows - scribbled in a selection of thick napkins, because it was way too early for him to have thought about bringing his notebook when inspiration struck, when he watched Seth open up shop in a random Tuesday that his employee called in sick - and he was texting Seth, with the stupidest grin on his face.
"Ready to be my husband?"
Seth never imagined this day would come. Since his first moments on earth he wondered what it would be like to fall in love or to find someone to spend your existence with but he had made his peace with the idea that it was not something he would be destined to experience. That, until Erik appeared in his live and now he was the happiest he never imagined he could be.
Now, here he was, getting ready at his best friend's place for his wedding. HIS WEDDING! He couldn't stop smiling thinking about it. He was fresh out of the shower when his phone vibrated with a message from his soon to be husband. Which was quickly answered.
"I am! I cannot wait anymore. I have to admit I would have rather very much to have woken up beside you this morning, though."
If he chuckled like a schoolgirl with a crush when he checked his phone, Erik didn't care. Not today. "I know, but it's said to be bad luck for me to see you - and you see me - before the wedding ): BUT HEY, in an hour or so you'll get to see me again (:"
Seth pouted to his screen when Erik said it was bad luck for them to see each other before the ceremony, "You don't believe that, but okay, I will have to wait one more hour to see you. Are you nervous?"
That made Erik laugh "True, I don't" he texted back "But I don't want to give fate any chances to be mean to us. I don't think I'm NERVOUS, I'm more ANXIOUS. Waiting is hard. What about you?"
Seth smiled at the answer, "You are right. It's better if we do not tempt fate to mess with us." The Grigori took a deep breath before answering, "The wait is almost over. I'm a little nervous but it is the good kind of nervous! More like excitement."
"Fate wouldn't dare 😛 " Erik texted back, his heart swelling in his chest when Seth talked about being excited to marry him. "I love you" was the only words his brain could think of to type, then he added "I should finish getting ready. You see, I have to meet this gorgeous fiancé of mine by the beach in a few"
Seth's smile now seemed permanent whenever he talked to Erik and his dragon always reassured him, "I hope so." Those three words had become the angel's favorite since the first time he heard them, "I love you too, Erik, very, very much," he answered quickly. "I suppose I should stop distracting you then. I will see you later at the beach. I will be the one in blue with a boutonnière."
Erik was lucky Jason and Warren had grown used to his stupidly in love self, if he was still back on the ship, there would've been tons of cat calls and whistles because of his ridiculous grin "Right, I'll make sure to find you. I'll be the one in front of the crowd, at the end of the isle" he answered, then added " ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 "
Seth was unable to repress a sigh at the text while his smile was still in place, "I know I will find you. I will see you soon ❤️ "
With one last smile, Erik pocketed his phone, moving onto the last of the preparation. Soon enough, he was making his way to the beach. Halfway down the hill he could already see the people finding their seats around the isle, most of them talking excitedly, smiles all around. Followed by Warren and Jason, he walked through the isle, nodding along to the people who greeted them, until they stopped under the archway covered in flowers. "Your boy is late" he smirked at the wolf, knowing full well that was expected. Chris had many great qualities, being on time had never been one.
Jason was feeling a little emotional. He hadn’t been at many weddings after Val and even less after his last relationship went down to the drain, but he was happy for Erik and Seth. He moved to adjust the lapels on Erik's jacket and chuckled, "He's not late. Sebastian is already there, they're probably just taking a minute and here he comes," he said shaking his head as he saw the young wolf come down the side of the ail to take his place on the spot for Seth's groomsmen, "Now put yourself together," he winked as he smiled and stepped to a side just in time for the music to start and everyone got to their feet, waiting for the other groom to make his way down the aisle.
Seth could feel his nervousness raising when the time got closer. He pulled Chris in for a hug, thanking him for all his help and then turned to Trevor; there were so many things he wanted to say to the Nephilim. Just the mere fact that he was alive because of him was something he could never thank him for enough and that was why he had asked him to please be the one to walk him down the aisle. With a deep sigh he reached for the taller man and gave his hand a soft squeeze, "Thank you for everything. Nothing of this would be possible without you, Trevor, and for that, you will have my eternal gratitude for as long as I live," his words were honest and filled with emotion.
Trevor was flattered when Seth visited him at the store a few weeks ago only to ask if he would like to be the one giving him away to Erik down the aisle. There was no way for Trevor to say no to that honor and now the day had come and the falling Grigori's words moved him, making his expression soften, "to me, you are another brother, Seth and nothing makes me happier than doing this for you," he smiled, "now, it's time to get you married," he grinned and offered his arm to Seth. As soon as the music started, he walked his older little brother down the aisle as a radiant with love dragon was eagerly waiting for him.
Nothing could've prepared him for the sight of Seth walking towards him that moment. Between a sea of faces, Erik only had eyes for Seth and his bright smile mirrored the angel's. His mouth was dry when he muttered a sincere "Thank you" to Trevor when the half ling offered him Seth's hand and the dragon accepted it, not letting it go for the rest of his life. "Ready?" He whispered conspirationally to his still fiancé, as the music faded, and people sat back down.
In the past, Seth had believed nothing would bring him more happiness than heaven and his holy duties. He had been sure that was the maximus level of happiness he would ever get to experience, but today, this very moment when he was walking towards Erik to promise each other a life of love and companionship, this was the truest happiness in his existence. As soon as he reached for his dragon's hand, all his nervousness vanished. He gave Trevor one last thankful look before his eyes were set on the love of his life, "I have never been readier," was his murmured answer as they both turned to look at Warren in front of them.
The ceremony went by faster than he thought it would, but it was like the dragon's mind was burning every moment to memory. The knowing look on Warren's eyes when he wrapped the band loosely around their joined hands, the how he could feel the people, their friends and found family, wishing them happiness through their wet smiles. The ceremony itself wasn't religious - because he would never give Seth's absent and vengeful father the satisfaction of having their fate in his hands again - but it followed the old traditions, of when Erik was first hatched. Chris and Jason, the best men, crowned them in white flowers as Warren talked about two souls finding each other against all odds and uniting as one once more. They thanked the earth and the tides, Erik ignited a candle as an offering to the fire and Seth blew it out, offering his breath to the wind. The moon and the sun were both in the sky blessing their union in a twilight of color when Warren said they could say their vows.
The ceremony was beautiful and not one he had ever imagined. He was not old enough to have witnessed the old traditions Erik and apparently Warren had lived by, but he would be forever thankful with his dragon for finding a way to make this day so special even with the absence of a part of him he had lost. He stopped thinking about it and was now ready to embrace these new beliefs. It was uncommon for Seth to be nervous to speak in front a crowd, but these words were too especial, and he could feel a soft blush adorn his freshly shaved cheeks. After a deep breath, he smiled and locked eyes with Erik's, "Today is the joyous day of my existence because I get to join my life to yours, not simply as your husband, but as your friend, your lover, and your biggest supporter. I promise to love you for who you are, and for who you are yet to become. I promise to be patient and to remember that all things between us are rooted in love. I promise to nurture your dreams and help you reach them. I love you with all my heart. You're my love, light, and soulmate. You're the one who never fails to make my heart sing, the one who keeps me smiling, and laughing as I never imagine possible. I promise to share my whole heart with you and to remember to show you how deeply I care for you, no matter the challenges that may come our way. I promise to love you loyally and fiercely—as long as I shall live."
Seth could've said a recipe of instant noodles and Erik would've loved it, yes, but he wasn't prepared for the words he heard. It was a rare sight, but halfway through his short, heartfelt speech, tears were rolling down Erik's cheeks and he squeezed the angel's hand, under the embroidered band that tied them together. Some parts could've seemed nice to the onlookers, but went much deeper when they reached Erik's ears, especially when he mentioned sharing Seth's heart. That was it. It was the proof that loving wasn't losing part of his heart. He was giving his own to Seth and getting the angel's in return.
After a moment too long, Erik recomposed himself, murmuring under a wet chuckle "I'm so glad I wrote this down, damn, I wouldn't be able to form coherent thoughts after that". After wiping his cheeks with his free hand, he reached into his pocket, grabbing a napkin with the logo of Seth's bakery. "It's a bit long, so please bear with me" He used the text just to be sure he wouldn't forget anything he wanted to say, but in the end Erik said most of it staring into Seth's eyes.
"I never believed in miracles before I met you. Or believed in love, for that matter. I learned from the start that I could never let someone take hold of my heart, it'd leave me too vulnerable, it felt dangerous and violating. So when I met you, I had my heart safe, locked into this chest buried where no one could reach."
"But you did. You did and it was scary and thrilling and everything I never thought it would be. I craved your touch, I starved for your smile, I longed to hear every word that left your lips, and I thought once I had heard them all, it would end, and I'd find peace again."
"But it didn't."
"And it doesn't."
"And I don't think it ever will."
"Instead, I've found my peace with you. So I could promise you the moon and the stars and make all of these vague allusions about loving you when you're sick or in health, but I won't. Because that's not enough for me."
"So I promise you, Seth Winfred, that I'll do my damn best every single day to be your peace. I'll respect you as my equal, I'll cherish you like a sunny day, and I'll support you with every last spark of energy in my body."
"I love you, and I'm going to keep on loving you until far beyond my last breath, Seth."
"Under the gaze of infinite pantheons I promise you this, and under the sight of the gods of old I humbly request the blessing of the ones who wish for our happiness."
"May our paths never wind far from one another, and may your hand always find mine in the dark, for mine will be searching for yours too."
Seth was never one to cry, but halfway through his vows when he saw those tears of happiness in his lover's eyes, his voice quivered, and he did reach to wipe a couple of tears that rolled down his cheek. But how, how unprepared he was for the dam that it was about to break when Erik said his bows. He smiled at the initial request, "Always, my love, always," his answer as honest as ever but as the beautiful words progressed, more and more tears rolled down his face.
It was common to hear angels were miracles to humans, but hearing Erik call him his miracle was one of the sweetest things he had ever heard. It all made sense, and it came to a full circle; one where they both understood and shared with the world that love was such a selfless act that only implied completing each other. Being what your partner needed and loving every single moment you got to share together. Seth swallowed hard and smiled through the tears, murmuring a soft "I love you," at the end of Erik’s vows.
It was really hard to watch Seth cry without comforting him, so when he finished Erik put the napkin back onto his pocket and reached out to cup his cheek, wiping tears away and muttering "I love you" in return. People clapped and Erik took that opportunity to step closer and go against protocol, pressing a kiss to Seth's forehead. Warren then unwrapped their hands and proclaimed that they could now share tokens of affection. Back in the day this was when they signed treaties and united kingdoms, it went from gold coins to scriptures of land and pieces of clothes with the shield of the family. Nowadays though, Erik knew people valued rings. "I'm going to need that hand, just a second" he murmured, playfully letting go of the angel's hand so he could use both of his own to open the tiny box from his pocket. Carefully, Erik picked up the ring inside, an intricate wine, made of the purest gold from his own scales, he was sure Seth could feel it once it touched his skin. This way humans would know Seth was cared for and every other being would know the fury of a dragon would rain upon them if they hurt Seth. "May I?" He asked, gently grabbing Seth's hand to put the ring in place.
Seth smiled at the soft comforting kiss and let out a breathy soft laugh when Erik said he needed both hands for a moment. The ring was beautiful, and he just knew it was literally a part of Erik and what it would mean wearing it. There was another smile and a nod when his dragon asked if he could put the ring on his finger. He could feel Erik's love through the gold band around his finger, confirming his thoughts of it been made of his lover's scales.
A while ago, Seth had given Erik one of his feathers, long before they turned black and now he was wearing one of Erik's scales , in the most beautiful exchange that clearly symbolized the exchange of their hearts. Moving forward with the ceremony, Seth let go of his beloved dragon's hand to turn to Chris to retrieve the ring he had chosen for his soon to be husband. It was a golden ring with two wings forming a heart, symbolizing Seth giving his everything to Erik, "May I?" he asked back with a teasing smile and right after the ring was on the dragon's finger, Seth pulled his hand to his lips, pressing a kiss over the ring to seal the promise they had just made.
Very few things in the world felt right, but sliding his ring onto Seth's finger was certainly one of them. He chuckled when Seth asked him the same question back "Of course" he said offering his hand, a gentle tug on his heartstrings when he noticed the engravings. He still had it, Seth's feather, Erik wore it every day around his neck, in a delicate bottle. Now humans would know he belonged to someone as well. A soft warmth covered his face when Seth kissed his hand, sure they this kind of gentle affection had never happened around other people. Still, contrary to what he'd think a few decades ago, Erik didn't feel belittled or vulnerable. It felt right, Seth loved him, there was no question.
With one last prayer to whatever deities who were listening, who cared about their happiness, Warren proclaimed them wed, and with the widest of grins, Erik pulled Seth by the waist, one hand on his cheek as people cheered and his lips touched for the first time his husband's.
This was it. This was the moment they both had been waiting for. When Warren said they could finally kiss and be announced as husband. Seth closed his eyes at the kiss and smiled into it, his left hand now with his wedding band on, pressing over Erik's chest right on top of his heart and in that very moment, everything was perfect in their own little world.

Friends will be friends
TIME: September 25th, 2024 PLACE: Jason’s place BETWEEN: Erik ( @erikdragon ) & Jason NOTES: Written on Discord.
He knew the last couple of days were hard on the wolf, Erik had picked up on the pattern after the few years they've been friends. Every year, around Valerie's birthday or the anniversary of her death, Jason always retrieved into his shell, got broodier than usual and fell inside a bottle. Well, not this year, bitch! Erik let him have the day to brood and hurt, and then he texted the wolf, requesting the first of his best man duties to be fulfilled. "It's not our orgy, no, not a bachelor's party, not yet. It's more important" the dragon said on the phone when he asked if Jason was free because he needed to stop by. About an hour after hanging up, he was knocking on the wolf's door, a couple of catalogues from the town's more expensive tailors on one hand and a bottle of tequila on the other.
Jason wasn’t really in the best mood. It was a hard week for him like every single year. He had promised Chris he was not gonna disappear into the woods again and that he would try to be sobber at least twice a week and he had done that. So now when he was ready to sleep the day away, Erik had decided to call and request him to fulfil his best man duties. How could he refuse when his best friend was about to get married. It really didn’t matter if that made his heart ache a little with the memories of his own marriage, so he agreed to meet the dragon, so he forced himself out of the bed and took a shower. By the time Erik knocked on the door, Jason had already showered, changed and brewed some coffee to force himself to be more alert. He opened the door with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, but he still tried, “hey man! Great to see you!” he greeted with honest happiness to have Erik over, “come on in!” he invited trying to sound a little cheerier.
"Look at you!" He said, grabbing the man by the chin with a smile, fully aware of the bags under his eyes. Still, he teased "Don't look a day over eighty!" The dragon joked before pulling the man into a one-armed hug "Good to see you, Jayjay" it was more honest now and he walked inside, smelling the coffee. "Oh, in hindsight I think coffee is better than booze for our mission" he mused, placing the bottle on the counter and moving towards the living room to find a seat.
Jason huffed and slapped the hand off his chin, “asshole,” he muttered as he smiled and returned the hug. He really needed to remember to be thankful for the friends he had and helped him focus on the now. “I’d like to say the same but it’s always a pain to see that ugly face of yours,” he teased, “no idea how Seth deals with that,” he smiled. “Or we can always spike it,” he teased even though he probably should focus on stay sober. Both of them. He followed Erik to the living room and sat down, “so what’s the mission?” he asked curiously noticing the catalogs on the dragon’s hands.
That was more like it. Erik laughed back "You're just sad now you're never gonna get to tap this" he teased with a smirk "Oh it's a penitence for him, I'm sure. That's why we're getting married" the dragon joked, a stupid smile on his face whenever he mentioned Seth. "No, no, this is important. We can spike it once we're done" he said setting the catalogs on the table before looking seriously at Jason. "Okay so, I told you we're not getting married in a very, uh, orthodox way, right? Since Seth's father is an asshole, we're cutting him out of the whole thing" the dragon said as if cursing the lord wasn't a sin in of itself "So we're doing a wedding by my gods, with a handfasting - everything okay so far. BUT. I've been researching weddings nowadays and I realized the wedding garments we used to wear back in my day are just not gonna cut it." He opened the first catalogue, showing several men in different cuts of suits and tuxedos "So I need your help to figure out what I'm gonna wear."
Jason gagged, "gross!" He said with a chuckled. "Poor thing, he could be dating someone nicer but no, he has to settle with you," he teased cause he had seen just how much the now fallen angel loved his friend. He nodded when Erik said they could get drunk later. A promise he'd make sure the dragon came through with it. He nodded, "you did, yes," he nodded and then chuckled, "so this is a fashion emergency? Wow I'm flattered! Also we both know my style is way better than yours," he said as if he wasn't wearing sweats and a sleeveless shirt. "Well that depends. How formal do you want to be?" He asked picking one of the catalogs, looking at the first pictures full of tuxedos, "what is Seth wearing?"
"It was the settlement of the century, I'm just lucky he hadn't thought it through" Erik joked back with a grin. "Hey, don't push it! My style is ageless! You live off yoga pants and tank tops. Your abs are half your style" he teased with a playful glare, then sat down "But yeah, something like that." Erik frowned at the question "I don't know what he's wearing, I'm not supposed to know, it's bad luck! I just know he's wearing white." His frown got deeper "Are there levels of formality? I thought a wedding was as formal as it got"
"You were definitely lucky, but he was the luckiest to unfreeze that heart of yours," he teased. "Oh shut up! When we met you were wearing pirate clothes," he laughed and shook his head, "and my abs are my best accessory, thanks," he chuckled. "Really? Didn't think you were sticking to that tradition too," he smiled. "Yeah, there are different levels. It can be a suit, black tie, and tuxedo. It also depends on the weather and setting. What time will the ceremony happen?" He asked as he passed the pages.
Erik pursed his lips playfully at that phrase "See? You love me" he teased, but Jason was right. "Yes! Very stylish pirate clothes, I'll have you know!" the dragon laughed, then pulled the invitation from between the pages, offering it to the wolf. "Sundown. We're going to have it at the beach behind the mansion, near the cliff, where it's hidden from view." Erik said, inspecting Jason's face for a reaction "It's not SUPER formal, I suppose, but not casual either. I have no idea what to choose, all of these look the same to me. I just know I can't get married in black, that's- that was a really bad omens, back in the day." He pouted playfully "Help?"
"Sure, keep lying to yourself," he smirked. "Sure! You looked right out of Halloween," he laughed a little. He smiled and accepted the invitation, "that's really nice. Let me guess, it was Seth's idea," he teased. "Sounds like a perfect setting. So no tuxedo. That's more for an indoor wedding. I wouldn't suggest black either cause it's still daytime," he explained changing the pages to find the daytime suits, pointing to a dark gray one, "something like this could work. The accessories can be of a different color," he said with a smile, "don't worry about it. We'll find the perfect suit for you, my friend," he promised.
"You do know my birthday is around Hallows Eve, right? Technically, I DID." The dragon teased, then rolled his eyes when he said it was Seth's idea "I can make nice choices, okay? ...but yes, he picked those." He watched Jason go through the pages, analyzing his choices "That fit seems nice, but- do you think they have something... warmer? I'm not really a gray guy, you know?" Erik bumped their shoulders then, a smile on his face "Thanks bud. We probably should get something set for you too. Don't groomsmen wear kind of the same?"
Jason rolled his eyes, "mine is around new year’s and you don't see me wearing those silly hats," he teased. The wolf chuckled, "I know but these look elegant and very classy," he teased again. Jason nodded and changed the pages, "how about something blue?" He suggested pointing to a dark blue suit. He smiled and nodded, "groomsman suits are usually picked by the couple so you can definitely decide on my suit," he said letting Erik decide what he wanted since it was his special day, "you can even ask Seth. Not sure who's his groomsman but it'll be nice if we both wear something similar."
Erik laughed at that "You could totally rock those, and those 2025 glasses, they match your outfit, I bet" he teased back. "Are you saying I'm not classy?!" He huffed, then cringed at the sight of the next suit "How on earth is blue warmer than gray?" Erik grinned wickedly at that information "Oh, so I get to choose what you wear?! Is that it?!" He chuckled "I think he's groomsman is your boy"
Jason shook his head still smiling, "you'll never see me wearing anything like that," he assured. "I'm saying Seth has a classier taste," he pointed with a shrug. "Aren't flames blue?" He asked as if it was obvious, "I'm sorry my friend but red and gold are really not a great color for a wedding," he pointed simply. Jason frowned, "I don't have a boy," he said confused until it clicked, "wait! You mean Chris?" He chuckled, "how's that you both ended up with werewolves as groomsmen?"
"Well, but I'm the one choosing what you wear~" he teased with a smirk, then blinked when he talked about flames being blue "Let me answer that with another question: are you colorblind?" Erik said turning towards the catalogue "What about the browns? This one looks nice" he said pointing towards a rich latte colored suit. "See! You do have a boy!" The dragon laughed "What can I say? We just love puppies" he shrugged playfully" Though it's kinda cute how the whole pack kinda ended up on the altar, right?"
Jason huffed, "just because your flames are red doesn't mean there aren't blue flames," he scoffed. He looked at the picture and hummed, "it doesn't look bad. Honestly I would've never considered brown, but it'd work," he smiled. He laughed when Erik called them puppies, "it's kinda weird but I'm glad we can be part of it," he grinned, "so are you gonna talk to Seth before choosing our groomsmen suits?"
Erik rolled his eyes, then smiled when Jason agreed on the brown "See?! I don't have that bad of a style. Besides, I think it could look nice with some white accents. It could match Seth's." He smiled, then chuckled "We'll see about that. I've already agreed to give Seth and Chris full reign over the sweets and cake for the private reception we'll have at the mansion afterwards - just so we can have a dinner of sorts before we move towards the festival - so I think it might be fair I can reign supreme on the groomsmen's outfits"
"That's still debatable," he poked with a grin, "but yeah. Some white accents will make it perfect," he agreed. He whistled lowly when he heard that information, "you realize what a big mistake it was to give Chris some say on the sweets? That kid is gonna fill us with sugar," he chuckled. "Sounds fair. So what color you think would look good on us?" He asked curiously.
Erik grinned when Jason agreed to his choice of color. Now they just needed the fit. The dragon laughed loudly at the whistle, glad he could see some life slowly coming back to his friend's body "Oh, I know! But it'll be great of a warm up for the festival, since nowadays you can just put drugs on the wine anymore. That way everyone will be hyped for the party! It's a win-win!" He said clapping, then smirked "Look good on you? Damn, buddy, I don't think I can work that magic"
"hyped? The sugar rush is gonna be massive with that little wolf in change of the desserts," he laughed too. He rolled his eyes, "very funny. I know you're jealous of my looks but try not to, green doesn't look good on you," he teased.
"Exactly! Who needs absinthe when you have refined sugar!?" He joked with a laugh. "Thanks, but if I looked like you, we'd look like the heads of a gang while we walked down the street, with how tattooed you and Seth are." He teased, then shrugged "I was actually thinking about light blue for you both. You know, to match the setting, with the beach and all"
He shrugged "Besides, I know you like blue, and it'd match Chris's eyes"
Jason laughed too, "I still prefer absinthe," he said with a nod. He smiled but then he frowned, "wait! Seth has tattoos?" He was really surprised at the revelation, "who would've thought an angel of the lord would be tattooed." He hummed at the idea, blue sounds good. So do the three of us need to go to the tailor then?"
"Riiiight, it's a lot healthier than sugar, I'm sure" he said, then chuckled at the surprise "Yup, he has a bunch of them. He was sent down here to learn the ways humans lived, so he had to have the human experience, tattoos included, I'm afraid. And he also skateboards, I don't think a lot of people know that. That's actually how we met." The dragon said with a smile "Yeah, we do. Is it okay if I leave my suit here, though? I don't want to risk Seth seeing it, I've heard it's a lot of bad luck"
"At least it tastes better," he argued. "Wow! I didn't see that one coming. You don't like them?" He asked confused, "wait! So the serious and meek is just a facade?" He asked amused. "Sure! No problem at all. You can even come get ready here and we'll get to the ceremony together," he grinned, "so the whole handfasting thing doesn't include rings?" He asked wondering if Erik already had those.
"What the fuck are you on about, of course I love them, I have them all memorized" he chuckled "It's just funny to me that people never notice them, they look at his angelic face and think 'that summer child would never' when he in fact, would, very much" Erik said with a smirk "Not a facade, no, just... He's very polite and very calm and collected, and then you get closer, and you see how wild he can be" the dragon said with an almost dreamy smile. "That's a plan, thanks, man" he nodded "Well, not traditionally, no, but sometimes you could give your betrothed a token when they went away during the day. I'm still thinking about it, because Seth is a baker, so he'd have to take it off all the time... Do you think it's a good idea?"
Jason laughed, "well it was the way you said it! Made it sound like you didn't like them!" He said amused and then shook his head, "No! I refuse. I don't wanna think about Seth and wild in the same sentence, thank you very much," he joked. "Good! It's settled then." He considered it for a moment. Remembering how sad Valerie was whenever he had to take off his ring on full moons, "he could keep it in a chain around his neck," he suggested, "Val kept mine like that during full moons," he said with a said smile.
Erik laughed "I enjoy them very much. His tattoos are the only reason I think about getting one myself, but I don't think there's any ink who could stay in the skin of a dragon" he frowned, thinning out loud, then laughed at Jason's joke. "He can get very passionate about things he cares about, it's very nice to see. It's not just wild in bed, he can be very... fiery when he cares about something" the dragon said fondly. His smile turned melancholic when Jason talked about Val. Talking helped though, right? "Yeah, that's what makes me think of a pendant, maybe. But rings are sort of a societal norm nowadays, right?"
Jason smiled a bit because it was nice to see how in love Erik was, "I'm sure there has to be a way. We heal fast and there's still worked on me," he grinned. "I probably should talk to him more. It's always nice to hear people talk about what they love with such passion as you're doing now," he teased. "It doesn't have to be a ring. Fuck societal norms. It can be whatever works for you and makes you both happy," he assured.

@erikdragon
Trevor: Hello, Erik. I hope you're doing well
Trevor: First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding and festival in your honor ☺️
Trevor: I'm sorry to reach out like this but I would like to talk to you about something regarding your town.
Erik: Well hello to you too, Trevor
Erik: And thank you, we're really excited about both
Erik: What is it you'd like to talk about?
Trevor: You're very welcome. I'm very happy for you and Seth. You both deserve all the happiness in the world.
Trevor: Thank you for your time. I'm sure you're aware there's a law firm here that works with supernatural matters.
Trevor: One of the lawyers is a close friends of mine and recently we have talked about how many cases involving young supernatural he had been working on.
Trevor: most of those supernatural have no family support and we thought it would be a good idea to start either an institute or a foster home to prove them for protection and even training to understand what they are.
Erik: Yes, I'm aware
Erik: That sounds like a big project
Erik: It's a nice initiative though, sounds a bit like the temple I used to have where now is my house
Erik: Which begs the question, why did you come to me?
Trevor: first of all because we need your permission to start this kind of facility in your land.
Trevor: and second, because like you said, it's a big project so we are going to need some benefactors.
Erik: I admire your respect for my old title of keeper of the land, not many care for it these days
Erik: I'd be happy to assist however I can, Trevor
Erik: It sounds like the kind of project that could change lives and it's been a mission of mine keeping the supernatural in town safe
Erik: What do you need to start?
Trevor: I've read a lot about the town since my arrival and it's only fair to show respect to the one who's been protecting it.
Trevor: thank you! That means a lot.
Trevor: Yes, we hope it is. A lot of us navigated this world without knowing what we are or what we can do. Many don't have a family to care for them and we want to break that cycle.
Trevor: Cameron is doing all the paperwork, and we probably will need to find a place big enough for at least 10 people to begin with. We'll need to find volunteers, preferably supernatural. We'll need furniture, clothes, food. There's probably a lot we haven't considered yet.
Erik: Growing up is already hard as is, I'm assuming, having guidance can make a big difference on people's lives. It could even prevent future hostile situations I'd have to deal with, it's only right I support you
Erik: I'll check in with the assets I have, I'm sure I can provide enough at least for the start
Erik: I'll send you back a few options until the end of the month, maybe? So we can see if any would work out
Trevor: that's a great way to see it. I know in my own experience it was hard not understanding what I am so I think we can make it easier for others.
Trevor: I appreciate that very much. Please don't worry about hurrying with it. I'm sure you have plenty to do with the festival and your wedding.
Trevor: please let me know if there's something I can do to help with that.
Trevor: It really means a lot that you are helping us. Thank you doesn't even cover it.
Erik: My youth was far from any of yours, but I can understand the feeling, I haven't even met another dragon in the first century I was alive
Erik: I do, yes, but I figured I could set some things up to work out after the festival, since Seth and I will probably be away for a while on our honeymoon
Erik: Well, it means a lot to me that you care enough about my people to create an organization such as this, Trevor
Erik: I know it's not my place to say it, but your father would've been proud
Trevor: it's good to know you understand the feeling even if I wish you didn't. Neither of us should've have struggled just for being what we are.
Trevor: please don't worry about it. You deserve all the time you need to enjoy the wedding and the honeymoon.
Trevor: thank you. It means a lot to me that you will let me help.
Trevor: that's really means a lot, Erik. Thank you.
Erik: If this works out, no one in town will have to.
Erik: Nah, it's gonna be good for me to focus on something else, so I don't drive Seth insane changing the plans for the decorations every couple of days
Erik: You're very welcome, Trevor
Erik: Now stop thanking me, boy, and tell me who else are you planning to scout for investors?
Erik: Because I know of a short billionaire with a soft spot for lost causes that could just work as one
Trevor: that's our main goal.
Trevor: are you nervous?
Trevor: probably the same billionaire you have in mind. Warren Wilkinson. I've heard he already supports lots of associations, but I thought he might want to help with this.
Erik: Oh I'm terrified
Erik: But I'm sure it'll turn out okay, it always does when it's about Seth and me
Erik: That's exactly the man
Erik: He's bound to come over sometime this week for some drinks, I'll see what he thinks of it 😉
Erik: May our endeavor create deep roots and prosper, Trevor 🥂
Erik: I'll let you know when I have updates
Trevor: I am sure as well. I haven't known you for long but a love like the one you too share is meant to last forever.
Trevor: I would appreciate very much if you could vouch for us with him. We're still working in a formal proposal of the project, but I wanted your permission first.
Trevor: maybe it be 🥂
Trevor: thank you, Erik. I hope you have a great rest of your day.
Erik: I will never forget that you're the reason why we got the chance to do it, Trevor. Whatever you need, you'll always have my help.
Erik: You're a good kid
Trevor: You have no debt at all with me. I did it gladly and I'd do it again for any of my friends.
Trevor: thank you

Erik: Warren
Erik: Warry
Erik: Worrywart
Erik: Guess who has two thumbs and is getting the festival in his honor back after a good 300 years?
Warren: don't talk to me you treacherous fuck
Warren: I can't believe you chose a disgusting mutt to be your best man!
Warren: and even worse, I had to hear it from Maya cause you couldn't even tell me
Warren: for fuck sake's we've know each other for centuries and not chose a stupid wolf over me 😠
Erik: Ouchie
Erik: Seth was right then, you are upset about that
Erik: But it's not what you're thinking, Worrywart
Erik: And besides, Jason is a pretty cool guy, I'm sure you'd like him if you knew him
Warren: don't talk to me
Warren: you're lucky I like and respect your angel, otherwise you'll have my sword in the middle of the chest
Warren: I don't care if he's a fucking saint
Warren: I thought our friendship meant something
Erik: Warren
Erik: I know you enjoy these anger outbursts, but would you shut up for a second
Erik: Best men is a thing of this century, I met Jason this century
Erik: Your role in my wedding was supposed to reflect our story
Erik: So I was gonna ask you to do our fucking handfasting, you absolute dickhead
Warren: oh
Warren: you want me to make your wedding official?
Warren: ok
Warren: I'm sorry 👉🏻👈🏻
Warren: it was just really upsetting to think you hadn't consider me to be part of such an important day in your life
Warren: especially because both Maya and I consider you family
Warren: I'm sorry for been such a dick
Erik: I mean
Erik: Seth's god doesn't deserve to bless our wedding, so we agreed to do this by the old gods
Erik: And you're one of the last people in this world who understands what it means to be blessed by nature in a promise like that
Erik: Oh wow you're apologizing, is that my wedding gift already? 😮
Erik: You big baby
Erik: You really thought I'd let some nobody marry me and Seth when I have a brother who fought alongside me still walking this Earth?
Warren: that's true. They don't deserve to be part of your wedding. Is he really ok with that? Not having his father's blessing?
Warren: I do. Long time ago I even considered a wedding too and that's exactly how it would have gone. With the blessing of the true gods
Warren: no. It's just part of your present
Warren: that really means a lot. Thank you Erik
Erik: It's a sore topic, of course, but he said he's fine as long as we're together. So I promised him every time we renew our vows we can do it with a different creed, so we get the blessing of every entity I the fucking universe to prove his god's wrong.
Erik: I knew you'd get it
Erik: Hey, don't get soft on me now. I'm counting on you to run the ceremony, so keep it together man
Erik: 🫂
Erik: We're going to have the wedding during the Golden Festival's celebration, I'm thinking of a small hand fasting by the beach at sunset and then we do the dances and offerings in a village wide party at night
Warren: that's very thoughtful of you. I'm glad you two found each other
Warren: don't worry about it. This is a one in a century emotional outburst
Warren: sounds like a great way to reset the Dragon's reign 😉
Warren: we should meet up to settle everything, so it goes as planned
Erik: Thanks. It seemed to cheer him up, so I'm planning the 20 year as an Indian wedding, or maybe Greek? The chair thingy sounds fun
Erik: lmao duly noted, I'll appreciate it while it lasts then 😛
Erik: Right? I'm actually super excited about the whole thing!
Erik: Well, I was going to invite you over for drinks to ACTUALLY ask you to do the handfasting, before you went and cried your crocodile tears all over my plans
Erik: So wanna come over? I'll pop one of the truly OLD bourbons to celebrate
Warren: make it Greek! It's always fun to smash things 😋 maybe your angel will be less shy then
Warren: don't enjoy it too much
Warren: I am too. It's been a long time since I've seen a real ceremony like that. Too bad orgies are frowned upon now and that I'm in a committed relationship
Warren: I already apologized but since it was my mistake it's only fair I invite you over for dinner at least. Both of you
Warren: that's sounds fantastic actually. Should I bring something?
Erik: True 💯 Oh you haven't seen Seth in a while, he's not that shy, believe me (;
Erik: Well, since we're both into monogamy these days, I'd say it's the best time to have an orgy-less festival lmao
Erik: We graciously accept (: maybe on the weekend? I think by then the actual invitations will be ready and Seth and I can go there to deliver them
Erik: Just bring that tight ass of yours 😉 If you get here before I reach the lair, you get to pick which one we open
Warren: I've seen him at his store. Even though I have a baker at home, I enjoy his sweets on my way to work sometimes. He's still very calmed and soft spoken
Warren: that's a good point. Who would've thought we would be ok with a celibate celebration?
Warren: that's sounds like a great plan. We'll be happy to have you over
Warren: was that a challenge? I'll be there literally in the blink of an eye unless you're cheating and put on wards in the castle
Erik: Oh, that he is, calm and soft-spoken, but don't mistake it for shyness, my friend 😉
Erik: I'm still trying to absorb it myself, it's crazy to think of us as monogamous.
Erik: Not a castle, just a mansion, and nope, no wards, but I'm moving downstairs as we speak 😉
Warren: I very much rather mistake it for kindness, thank you
Warren: we wouldn't have believe it if someone had told us that before
Warren: fine. I'll wait for you there
But that was just a dream
A new age of The Golden One starts. Where: Erik's mansion. Who: Erik Drakorn and Dr. William Bones.
Slowly, Erik’s faith in his people had faded. Not to say that he’d ever stop caring about his town, he sworn to protect it at all costs long before anyone who walked these streets took their first breath, but he couldn’t help but feel like his own presence there didn’t matter anymore.
Back in the golden days, the mansion was called The Golden One’s Temple, he used to take women in as sacrifices, the ones whom society had failed. the ones who’s options were to run away or death, and he’d give them new life under his roof. He missed his priestesses. They were always nice to him, they kept the mansion clean and bustling with life, they kept him fed and entertained, and most of all, they kept him up to date with the villager’s affairs.
People used to come in asking for protection, for blessings and even to settle disagreements. He was a king to most senses of the word, he was respected and cherished, and he liked it.
Erik refused to think about it for long, though. For one, because he couldn’t complain about his life with Seth, he was happy, and also because then he’d have to admit to himself that he regretted sleeping for so long. Now he could see that a heartbreak wasn’t enough of a reason to miss this.
Those thoughts were running through his head as he sat in his library, his phone in hand showing the email he had reread at least a dozen times by now.
A couple of weeks prior, Erik was surprised by a knock on his door in the middle of the afternoon. An old man stood there, the coordinator of the History department of the local college, he said, Dr. William Bones. He had nice eyes, gray hair and the wrinkles of someone who smiled way too much in his youth, so Erik didn’t think much to it when he invited the man in for tea.
“My mother used to tell me stories about this place” he said, picking Erik’s interest “It’s a legend really, they say somewhere along my family tree there was a woman who lived here.”
“Is that so?” Erik asked, expression soft.
“Yes, she was one of the Golden One’s priestesses. Her name was Meredith.”
He remembered her, of course. She was a young one, must’ve been twelve or so when she arrived. She had freckles and the same kind eyes. He remembered she had something about her hands, back then they didn’t know the name of the condition, just called them defective. She broke so many of his ceramic bowls that Erik made her one out of metal with his own hands, if he looked around his lair that bowl might still be there.
“Not many people know his name these days. The… Golden One” Erik said instead.
“Yes, that’s precisely why I’m here.” Dr. Bones followed when he saw Erik’s confused frown “You see, my students were pretty passionate about reviving the traditions of the town, once they discovered there were any.” He chuckled “And who could blame them? Not many towns get to say they used to have a god amongst them, that they were protected by a dragon, that’s for sure” He also seemed passionate about it.
Erik smiled at his enthusiasm “Do you believe that he was real?”
Dr. Bones smiled kindly “Does it matter?” He paused, then sighed “Some things in history are not so literal, sometimes they’re… ideas, emotions, collective thoughts. The Golden One could’ve been a goat for all I know, but what he represented? That was precious.”
Erik smiled behind his cup of tea, a warmth in his chest. The historian continued.
“Which brings us to why I am here.”
“Oh? So you didn’t come here for tea, then?” Erik teased, the man laughed.
“As delicious as your blend is, no, I’m afraid not” he placed the teacup on the side table “Mr. Drakorn, you said your family has lived in this historical sight for hundreds of years, am I correct?”
“Something like that” the dragon shrugged, unable to give him a more accurate answer.
“I was wondering, if maybe you’d have any material that could help in our quest to put some pieces together”
“Pieces?”
“Yes, you see” the old man took a file from his messenger bag, showing Erik the papers inside. Notes and illustrations of The Golden One, quotes and pages taken out of history books, ancient maps of the town showing the new buildings and more. His eyes stopped on an illustration of a party, the image of women dancing around a fire with glasses in their hands. Their clothes weren’t exactly accurate nor the decorations, but he smiled when he realized what that was supposed to represent.
His festival.
“We’ve been gathering information all around town, with the most traditional of families. Everyone knows a story or two about the Golden One, or about the festivals they used to have, or his blessings of the crops, or something or another. But we’re missing some key details and I was hoping you could help us fill in the gaps.”
“I… have a few old books lying around, I could check if they have anything of interest for your… research? Is that what this is?” Erik asked, trying not to sound hopeful.
People remembered him! More people would know about him now!
“Something like that” Dr. Bones repeated Erik’s words with a teasing smile, then grabbed the illustration of the festival and handed it to the dragon “This festival. It used to happen every year, for days on end. People celebrated the community, they shared their harvest, were grateful for blessings of fertility and even whole wedding ceremonies happened in them.” Erik held back from mentioning the orgies. “It was an act of togetherness that reinforced the bonds of the townsfolk. I feel like it’s something that- that we’ve been losing in the last few decades and to be honest I fear of what will be of the next generations when they grow even more apart.”
“What are you saying, Dr. Bones?”
“I’m saying we have a project to bring back the Great Festival of the Golden One, Mr. Drakorn.”
Erik stopped breathing.
“Of course, it wouldn’t be the same, we wouldn’t have the support of the community for so many days off as they used to last, but I’ve been sharing my findings with the mayor office and there’s talk of even turning it into a local holiday. The mayor thinks it could help with tourism, even. But for that to happen, we’d need more… concrete evidence of the history of the town.” He paused, Erik wasn’t blinking. “Which is why I came here to talk to you.”
A moment too long, Erik took a deep breath, forcing his body to react “Of course” he said, clearing his throat. Was he serious? “Well, I will help in any way I can, Dr. Bones.” The dragon offered his hand to the old man to shake, a smile on his face “Consider me an avid supporter of the project.”
In the days that followed, Erik had taken some of his books downtown, to the history department. He also took a couple of handbound notebooks he had found after his latest clean up - journals of the priestesses. He made sure to include a few notes from Meredith too, just because, and one of the vests they used to wear around the temple.
Dr. Bones was ecstatic to say the least, Erik worried he might’ve given the old man a heart attack with how excited he got with the donations.
He invited the man and his pupils to a tour of the mansion at the end of the week as well, showing them the priestesses quarters and the whole side of the mansion that wasn’t used anymore, telling them a couple of stories about the temple and answering some of their questions as they took notes and pictures. He avoided the lair, for obvious reasons, but the exposure he had given seemed to be more than enough to light the fire inside of the young historians.
Which brings us back to the email.
His hands were shaking as he picked th phone up again, to read it just one more time, as if the words would be different on the thirteenth read through, as if he had understood something wrong due to wishful thinking. Still, they were crisp and clean as they were in the first time he read them.
To the esteemed Mr. Erik Drakorn, I come this bright sunny morning to bring you up to date on recent occurings about the project Golden One Festival, which we have discussed before. Your donations to our cause were fundamental to the development of the project, as they made up the backbone of the presentation we have given to the mayor office a couple of days ago. The mayor himself was surprised and extremely excited with the sheer amount of information we were able to collect as well as the quality of it. He was so excited, in fact, that he greenlit the project right away. We’re aiming for a late October festival, the paperwork for the official holiday has been sent and the culture and tourism department are already working on the publicity campaign to engage the local community on the festivities. The Golden One Festival is happening, and we couldn’t have done it without you, Mr. Drakorn. So I must offer you my most sincere gratitude. I’d also like to invite you to be a part on the planning of the festivities, if you’d like. Let me know what you think? With my best wishes, Dr. William Bones. Head Director of the History Department Hollow’s Creek Community College

@erikdragon
Erik: there's someone like you in my town
Erik: I feel it
Erik: please don't tell me it's a fucking family reunion
Erik: I have a wedding to plan man, no time to deal with the apocalypse now
Warren: He's not like me
Warren: It wasn't my idea ok? And it's not a reunion per se... my older sibling decided they had enough one our younger brother and sent him my way
Warren: You can blame Death for it, he gave him my address
Warren: There won't be an apocalypse. I'll make sure of it. Your angel can help. He has an angelical blade right? that would be enough for Freddie to stay put
Erik: I'm not letting Seth get involved in your family mess, man, it's his wedding too
Erik: I don't follow your family tree, you know
Erik: who even is that? Pestilence?
Erik: damn you want Seth to kill your brother????
Erik: you guys should go to therapy
Erik: I've heard family therapy does wonders
Warren: I promise nothing will interfere with your wedding
Warren: It's literally common knowledge
Warren: Pestilence is the eldest, I'm the second Eldest, Famine is younger and believe it or not, Death is the baby
Warren: Freddie is Famine
Warren: I can't kill him myself so it would be much appreciated 😄
Warren: We're too fucked up for therapy
Erik: you forget dragons are not really well seen in church, bud, I'm not religious
Erik: Famine???? What the fun does he want here????
Erik: I'm a harvest and abundance dragon, he CAN'T be working here
Warren: still. You don't have to be religious to know about us
Warren: apparently he wants to learn to live among humans and other beings
Warren: I warned him about it. No causing shortages in town. He said he'd behave. I'll take care of him if he tries something
Erik: you're not THAT famous, you know?
Erik: at least not enough for me to know the order of the kids, like you're a Kardashian or something
Erik: you all seem to have that in common huh
Erik: good
Erik: I do have an angelic blade you know
Warren: are we gonna have this argument again?
Warren: something like that but prettier and with more power
Warren: well this is new for him. He never showed interest in this until now
Warren: feel free to. I can't say in super fond of him
Warren: tho he's the calmer of us all and he's not violent at all. He never attacks first and believe it or not he's not fond of suffering
Warren: He just does what he was created for. I used to be like that too a very long time ago
Erik: you're stupidly handsome but you're no Kardashian, man
Erik: he's your brother, why don't you get along?
Erik: wait, how come he's not fond of suffering when he's LITERALLY FAMINE??
Warren: I'm richer than the Kardashians, Erik. Probably richer than you. And prettier too 😘
Warren: because he's an annoying little shit. He's the only one who takes being a horsemen seriously and he has a very intense sense of duty
Warren: his power doesn't really consist on making people starve to death. He makes them hungry enough to start wars. That's where I come in. Pestilence makes them sick. Famine destroys the crops and then Gilmore comes pick up the pieces. That's exactly how we all should work together
Warren: we haven't done that in a very very long time
Erik: not prettier
Erik: besides, I doubt Maia would call you pretty 😉
Erik: oh so you hate your bro bc he makes you do your actual work?
Erik: so lazyyyy lol
Erik: or you mean like
Erik: summon you?
Warren: I am pretty in a very manly way. She'd agree
Warren: Do you really want us all to keep on doing our job?
Warren: not quite like the big summon we were created for but yeah something like that
Erik: I'm gonna ask you to read that sentence you just typed TO HER.
Erik: nope
Erik: y'all should quit
Erik: that sucks man ._. being controlled like that is never fun
Warren: I already told her that. She says she agrees 😉
Warren: That's what I thought so you should actually feel calmer to know the bossy committed brother is on a sabbatical… here in town unfortunately
Warren: it's not but it is what it is
Erik: she's biased.
Erik: and you sound like you have a praise kink
Erik: which
Erik: you know
Erik: not judging :p
Erik: welp let's see if dear ol’ bro and his eons of years on earth still remembers the old customs and comes pay tribute to the dragon of the land
Erik: back in the day we used to judge the dangerousness of a visitor by their fruit basket
Erik: ah simpler times
Warren: I know but still
Warren: Maybe I do but so do you
Warren: he probably won't but you should take his calmness as a tribute because he was very serious about behaving and even got himself a job in town
Warren: I'm not gonna lie and say he's not dangerous. But we all are. The thing is that he's trying not to be
Warren: simple times indeed but won't deny I'm happier now with everything as it is
Erik: it's not a praise kink it's called being a dragon bud
Erik: oh wow
Erik: please tell me he's working at subway
Erik: got it
Erik: air conditioner and internet is nice and all, but I miss the fruit baskets
Erik: and the dragon festivals
Erik: they always had such good wine
Warren: same thing
Warren: close... the blood bar. He can use his little talent there to make vampires pay more
Warren: ha ha really funny
Warren: I still don't understand why you're not planning festivals again
Warren: you can still find that awesome wine if you know where to look or how to pay for it
Erik: one is being called a good boy, the other is being worshiped as a god
Erik: oooh that's smart, was it your suggestion?
Erik: bc people don't really believe in dragons anymore ):
Erik: I used to have my own priestesses, man
Erik: you'd have loved them
Erik: oh really?
Warren: I know I'm not a good boy
Warren: why are we going at this again? I'm a god. There are millions of statues dedicated to me in different centuries and civilizations
Warren: not really. He's very smart so he probably figured that out for himself
Warren: well but now you have a former angel of the lord worshiping you? What else do you want?
Warren: tell me which wine is you favorite and I'll make it your wedding present
Erik: because you're a god and a good boy for Maia :p
Erik: now -I- get to worship an angel of the lord, man (:
Erik: I guess I just want more noise around the house. it's too much space for two people and a cat, it was made to accommodate at least 15 priestesses, there's a whole wing we never use
Erik: awww you're such a softie :3 thanks man
Warren: I'm not gonna get into details here but the praises aren't for me in this household
Warren: true, that's true
Warren: have you ever thought about children? You And Seth would be good parents
Warren: if you tell anyone I'll kill you
Erik: oh so she's the
Erik: you know what
Erik: I don't wanna know
Erik: how's basically-married life treating you btw?
Erik: you think so?
Erik: I mean he's great with children, that's for sure
Erik: I'm afraid they're too breakable to be around me tbh
Erik: have you?
Warren: exactly, don't ask
Warren: fantastic. I never thought things could be this perfect
Warren: I think it's the next step so why not?
Warren: you have a cat and you're careful with it. They're breakable too so why a kid would be different?
Warren: I can't bear children and Maya is worried she's too fucked up for kids
Warren: they aren't in the cards for us but if she ever changes her mind I'm open to foster or adopt
Erik: I don't wanna say I told you so
Erik: but I did lol
Erik: I suppose so
Erik: I don't even know how to go about it
Erik: but do you want them?
Erik: that's the thing
Erik: me and Seth, I have no idea what kind of parents we'd be
Erik: I was HATCHED, he was made by God himself
Warren: and you were right, and this is the only time you'll hear this words from me so enjoy it
Warren: you could just ask him how he feels about kids maybe?
Warren: I've wanted kids since Barachiel. We even tried but that's when I learned I'm barren
Warren: both of you are kind and that says a lot about the good type of parents you'd be
Warren: I was created too but still. It doesn't matter where we come from
Erik: (:
Erik: sometimes it's hard to ask these kinds of things of Seth. I worry he'll think I'm starting my needs instead of asking his opinion and he'd give in to make me happy
Erik: he's already given up too much bc of us
Erik: oh
Erik: welp maybe it's just not supposed to work between you and angels? maybe witches are another thing
Erik: thanks man
Warren: He loves you so I'm sure he would do it for your happiness but for his own too. Do you really think he wouldn't want kids around?
Warren: do you think ids would be giving up on something?
Warren: yeah it's not working, you don't need to know but if I was able to give her children, we would have a football team so no, no biological kids for me
Warren: anytime
Erik: kids would be giving up on his freedom, he'd be stuck to people he'd never met
Erik: oh god
Erik: how's she even still BREATHING
Warren: if that's what you think about kids then maybe kids are not really what you want
Warren: and that's ok, kids aren't for everyone
Warren: you say it as if sex with me was so terrible 🙄
Erik: I want them
Erik: but I want him to want him, I don't want him to agree to it, you know?
Erik: Seth is too giving for his good, it needs to come from him
Erik: WE BROKE DOWN A BUILDING, WARREN
Erik: and I'm a fucking dragon
Erik: she's HUMAN
Warren: then just ask someone to ask him maybe?
Warren: the little wolf is his best friend right? He could help
Warren: yeah and I'm not a monster! I treat her delicately!
Erik: like a fucking middle schooler?
Erik: Chris is a) dead scared of me and b) a fucking excitable puppy. I talk about kids he'll go to Seth with fucking baby shoes in his pocket.
Erik: sorry, people don't usually think of DELICATE when they think about WAR behaving, you know
Erik: nor pretty
Erik: but what do I know
Erik: look at you being out of the box lol
Warren: well I'm sure he wouldn't lie to his friend, and he wouldn't feel pressured to say yes if he doesn't want to
Warren: Christopher is a lot more serious and mature than you think
Warren: well that's cause you never got to see this side of me, this side is reserved just for her
Warren: I'm surprising, I know
Erik: you call him Christopher? I didn't realize you both had met
Erik: SUCH A SOFTIE
Erik: look at you
Erik: :³
Warren: The wolf and the hunter are Maya's close friends, of course I know him
Warren: I'm gonna ignore you now
Erik: you only ignores me when I'm right, you know (;
Warren: or when you're stupidly annoying
Erik: which I get when I'm right~
Warren: Also when you're stupidly stubborn
Warren: lemme ask you something: What would you do if Seth says no to having kids with you?
Erik: not have kids with him
Erik: and then bury myself in a deep hole
Erik: for at least a couple of years
Erik: why?
Warren: this is exactly the reaction he might fear and why he would say yes even if he doesn't want to
Warren: which won't happen if someone else asks him about it
Warren: intermediaries aren't a bad thing
Erik: so you see how I can't just ask him about it right?
Erik: I'll think about talking with Chris
Warren: yes but I also know you want to know
Warren: and the idea won't vanish from that stubborn head of yours until you have your answer
Warren: good! It'll help
[15 min later]
Erik: he said yes
Warren: Who said yes?
Erik: Chris
Erik: what, did you think I just went over to ask Seth to have my babies? come on man get on with the program
Warren: I told you he was a good ally
Warren: you're unpredictable like that
Erik: he did send me an audio reply SQUEALING tho
Erik: heh I like to keep ya on your toes
Erik: are you ready to become uncle war?
Warren: A very Christopher like response
Warren: Are you gonna le me spoil that kid rotten?
Erik: good luck out-spoiling me, man
Warren: it's not a competition, we both can spoil them

Erik: Because I wanted to make this whole thing out of asking you, but the doves came in the wrong color so I had to send them back, then I waited months for the tequila you like to arrive in stock just to have them cancel my order and then the flowers weren’t fresh enough and it was too cold to have the picnic so I waited for the perfect moment and yeah
Erik: I think Seth thought I had already told you
Erik: But yeah
Erik: Now you’ve ruined the surprise
Jason: You’re ridiculous. You just needed to text me, idiot
Jason: Maybe but still, I had to pretend I already knew and I’m sure he didn’t buy it
Jason: I’m happy for you, man, I’m glad you finally took that step. How was it? did you make a whole show like the one you described?
Erik: Still
Erik: Not at all
Erik: I literally woke up and couldn't breathe without marrying him
Erik: It was ridiculously corny, but it was honest
Erik: I love him.
Erik: But yes, would you like to be my best man?
Texts: Erik & Jason
Jason: So why is it that I haven't been asked yet to be your best man?
Jason: and why did I have to hear about this from your brand new fiancé?
Jason: you have one text to explain. Go ahead, I'm waiting.

Merry Christmas, Erik! (I'm sorry i don't know your last name) I wanted to thank you for telling me about the town's lore and the awesome dragon story!!! So, I thought you might like those books to find more cool stories! Let me know what you think!
Best regards, Avery Wright.
"Well that's fitting"
Delivered to @ofarlows with a card that reads:
"Hey there, neighbor! I'm Erik, from the mansion on the hill. I just wanted to wish you a great winter time and leave the door open in case you'd like to come by for some drinks some time. -Erik"
erikdragon:
Erik: Yucks, you’ve glowed up a lot since then, that place was a dump
Erik: The Chinese place beside it though had some pretty delicious coconut fried shrimp
Erik: What? I know people who knows people, I’m sure we can come up with a couple of tests to figure out what happened
Erik: I’m kinda hoping for a “hit my head in the shower” story though, it’d be a nice change
Erik: Are you at your place?
[TXT] Well, I’m pretty sure I’m going to die soon anyway so
[TXT] Or I was pretty sure, I guess
[TXT] You know I don’t understand that reference
[TXT] Great, love to be a science experiment
[TXT] Yeah.
Erik: Not on my watch you're not
Erik: You'd be surprised at the caliber of the people you have around you who are hellbent on keeping you alive rn
Erik: Not a reference, just a suggestion. You should at least use your predicament to try out things for the first time again.
Erik: Coconut fried shrimp, Maya. Do it.
Erik: You're a kickass lab experiment, come on

[TXT] Actually I don’t know, that’s the point.
[TXT] Spells can take days to prepare
[TXT] Two mornings ago
Erik: Fair enough
Erik: What’s the last thing you remember?
Erik: I’m gonna make a few calls
Erik: I’m assuming Warren already knows?
[TXT] Leaving the motel one night about a week after moving in
[TXT] I don’t see how that’s going to help
[TXT] Yeah, he knows.
