i lovve your nonstandard eri design!! idk i didnt really knoww this wwas controvversial wwith other folks but i think its awwesome wwhen people go "offmodel" and go in their owwn direction wwith their favve's character design, especially since the hs art style and canon designs are really easy to reinterpret or just mostly ignore wwhile still making the character instantly recognizable. also i think he deservves the opportunity to pick a different haircut
thank you so much for your kind message!!💜 for a long time i wwas afraid to make any quirks to eridan’s design based on any interpretation i had of him because i didn’t wwant to people to judge my character just based on howw i draww him or wwant people to think i only see him as some soft uncracked egg who just needs estrogen to be a good person (i believe eridan can be trans either way, i think an argument could be made for both ftm and mtf, and it is my belief that everyone is entitled to their interpretation because…he’s not real)
but i often remind myself that i get in my own head and! i don’t care! i’ll do wwhatevver i wwant! i’m not hurting anybody, i’m an adult, i cant let my anxieties surrounded by how people perceivve me stop me from just drawwing what makes me happy :) and it makes me loads more happy knowwing people get joy from wwhat i share
