actually if you live far inland i highly recommend going for freshwater over saltwater when possible, it will be fresher and wont have to travel far. less pollution from travel. also try to avoid seafood from fast food places unless you can be sure of how and where its obtained

catching fish yourself is also an option if that’s something youre able or willing to do. you dont need a boat and youre not contributing to massive fish kills by catching them yourself from shore

“Same-gender attraction” is meaningless to me. I am not bisexual, and I am not queer, and I am not ~LGBT,~ because I’m attracted to women. I am those things because I am not Straight. If that seems like a meaningless or pedantic distinction to you, frankly, I don’t give a shit. My identity is not yours to define and it never will be.

Furthermore, as a bisexual woman, let me say:

“Same-gender attraction” is offensive to me. The queer community has a decades-long history of actively exploiting bisexuals, especially bi women. Our political labour is stolen without compensation: if we don’t spend 110% of our energy campaigning for Gay Rights™ we’re not doing enough for ~the community,~ but if we expect LG people to campaign for us, we’re asking too much, it’s unreasonable. I’ve been called homophobic for voicing a desire to prioritize myself in my own politics. Our lived experiences are appropriated without compensation: my mental illness, my addiction, my suicidality, all get filed under “LGBT” statistics, but “LGBT services” are routinely denied to bi women because gay people need them more. Gay people in the West have reached the level of acceptance and wellness they have on the back of bisexual suffering, but that suffering is unrecognized and actively invalidated unless we allow our whole selves to be subsumed into The Gay Experience. “Same-gender attraction” is nothing but more of the same.

Finally, as a bisexual and asexual trans woman, who has been out for more than a decade and a half, let me say:

I have spent a Hell of a long time analyzing and deconstructing cisheterosexism, and from more angles than most. Trust me when I say I know this shit from boot to bonnet. Here’s some things you need to learn: Queer oppression does not operate on the Kinsey scale; it’s not “straight” at one end, “gay” at the other, and everyone else in between. “Straight” is an ivory tower standing tall above the queer peasantry, and the people inside the ivory tower have decided that “ace” and “aro” do not occupy space within it.There is no such thing as a “straight ace.” There is no such thing as a “cishet aro.”
