the whole "you're mine / you belong to me / you're the only one who made me forget my dream" got my curiosity picked even more after the latest chapter. what if griffith sensed it as well? that he is guts' "unkingly half" just as skull knight mentioned?

what if things turned out so terribly wrong because griffith didn't exactly lost a best friend, a lover but something deeper? his other half. someone whom he was so deeply connected with that even himself couldn't explain the reason why.

Thinking about the parallels between Count Slug and Griffith– both sacrificing the person they loved the most and hated the most, their other half, someone who was a part of their soul, so close to them that it was like giving up a part of themselves.

And now with this last chapter it's basically canon that Guts and Griffith are each other's half. Skull Knight had said it before, he called Griffith "that unkingly half of yours" (or another translation could be "and your other half, who will be their king") and in this chapter Guts is told the same. "Your other half", "You and he are the same".
