I previously saw fans put together Jota’s celebration moves Jota’s celebration moves and even gave each one a name, and I thought, “Hey, this could be fun to draw.” Of course, there are still plenty of gestures I didn’t include— I didn’t draw all of them. In total, there are nine moves, each using the English name of the celebration as the background concept. This post features five of those moves. You can tell that Jota’s gestures mostly come from games, friends, and family— everything basically revolves around those. Some of them are also about showing support for his own team or responding to rival fans. He’s an incredibly pure and straightforward player 🥹 Unexpectedly, the smoothest piece to draw in this series was the first one—the MoveMind gesture. It’s dedicated to his good friend who’s an esports player. The meaning of this gesture is simply: “Move your mind.” Although Jota is prone to injuries, whenever he’s on the pitch, he always brings us a fresh perspective. For us Liverpool fans, he’s been an excellent “firefighter” player to rely on. Young, yet willing to put the team first. In the dressing room, he’s also an incredibly important presence—the mood-maker 😢 A kid who loves video games, loves football, and loves his family.
