i love the akatsuki as an organization because to join you have to endure the most deadly job interview of all time, and your coworkers are a shark, a man with plants on his head, several zombies, a literal puppet, and some vaguely threatening holograms…your boss is a reanimated corpse, and everyone just takes this in stride…and instead of retiring or quitting, its members just like. die. or if they do defect from the organization it’s so offhand and nonchalant, like, pein will be all “oh yeah sasori, orochimaru turned on us. go kill him now” and sasori is like “finally” as if pein is sending him out for groceries or some shit
