I have decided that I’m going to not going to be back on Tumblr for the foreseeable future, mainly because it often just brings me distraction or negativity, and giving it up for Lent has really shown me that I really don’t need it, and that I can spend my time in much better ways personally. I’m not going to deactivate, but I don’t think I’m going to come back on anytime soon. ✌🏼

Instead of advancing a particular cause, spread the Kingdom of God.
Traditionalism is good, but please remember that God created men and women to be different, but to have equal value. More than once I’ve had conversations with people deep in the Trad movements and they’ve all acted like I was evil for saying that I thought that men and women are equal. You can still structure your marriage so that the husband is the one who makes the final decisions, BUT if you’re not taking input from your wife the whole time, you’re just drunk on power and don’t deserve to control anything, much less the destiny of your family.
These same people often forget that husbands are to submit to their wives the way Christ submitted to the Church – sacrificially, with selfless love. A true Christian man is not a despot dictator of the home but a servant to the needs of his family. It’s a position of HIGH responsibility, and if you look forward to abusing that responsibility then I hope no woman is pathetic enough to fall for you.
Just a message for y’all: if you’re confused about why Catholics do this, why Protestants think that, why Buddhists/Muslims/pagans believe [insert practice here]…then ask someone of that religion why, not someone who isn’t.
It isn’t that hard and you learn a lot that way.
Also, clarify if the person you’re speaking to is actually well-informed and not basing their knowledge on one or two experiences.
Too many people hate religion for what they think it is, not what it actually is.

The problem with industrialized nations is that we’re directionless after meeting our basic necessities for survival. We’ve divorced progress from God so we’re left with following our carnal desires and impulses rather than using the technological advancedments to spread the Kingdom of God.
For Christians, there is no such thing as meaningless suffering. The Lord is always refining us, always sharpening us for the building of his church.

Trusting God doesn’t mean trusting He will cater to our agenda, give us what we want, when we want it, how we want it.
Trusting God means trusting Him unconditionally, and submitting, and surrendering to His plans, will, and timing, what he gives, and what he withholds.
2 years ago 21 men were martyred. One wasn’t a Christian until the last moment.
“Their God is My God”
“Following the brutal murder of a group of Coptic Christians by members of the Islamic State (ISIS) on February 12, 2015, the names of the 21 martyred men were widely shared. Prior to the beheadings, the victims were kidnapped while residing in Libya, where they were working in order to support their families.
Initially, it was believed that all of the men who were slain for their faith were from small impoverished villages in Egypt. However, while the name and background of one of those killed was first unknown, Mathew Ayairga was soon identified by friends who recognized him in the video footage of the killings released by ISIS. According to “Ahram-Canadian News,” Mathew, who had been missing since January of 2015, was from the country of Chad.
The video showed each of the kidnapped men dressed in orange jumpsuits, kneeling on a beach, with their black-clothed attackers standing behind them. Each man was then systematically beheaded. The video clearly captured many of the men praying, “Lord Jesus Christ,” in their final moments.
According to reports, Mathew was not a Christian. However, just moments before his death, when the ISIS militants demanded he follow Islam, Mathew turned them down. After reportedly witnessing the “immense faith” of the Egyptian believers, he decided to become a follower of Christ himself. On camera, one of the terrorists asked Mathew, “Do you reject Christ?” He responded boldly: “Their God is my God.” He then became one of the 21 men who laid down their lives for their faith in Christ.”

Do you feel how liberating it is to acknowledge our depravity and weakness? Finally we don’t need to take the “believe in yourself” and “you can fix this” propaganda, because no amount of human work can solve the problem of the Fall. We simply need to surrender to the One who can. And then poof—our biggest problem, the ultimate problem, is gone. There’s nothing more liberating than a faith grounded in Christ.
