5⭐️s Finished!!!!!! . Story-time: I bought this book back in November. Because it is a trilogy of more than 1300 pages, I decided to read it in December. December came and I had finals so I could not read it. And then I didn't read it in January as well. Not reading this in December was when my reading slump sank in. I stopped reading, stopped using #bookstagram as well. I did read a few books but they were small, less than 200 pages contemporary novels. I cannot count the number of books I have picked up and put down since December 2021. I cannot count the number of books I promised I would read but never was able to. But finally I don't know one day, probably a week ago, I picked up this book and started it. Really loved it from the beginning but I remained cautious because I liked Kafka on the shore in the beginning but the ending confused me a lot. Now I loved this book from the beginning till the end. This is not a book I would recommend you to read as a starter to Murakami. Try reading some other of his works, probably his short stories and then pick this up. But I think he is not an author one must give up if one does not like one of his works. . . . . #books #bookstagram #book #bookstagrampakistan #booklover #bookshelf #booksintranslation #harukimurakami #bookaddict #bookaholic #bookaesthetic #bookphotography #darkacademia #read #reading #readingtime #japaneseliterature #novel #fiction https://www.instagram.com/p/COsoD4lLB01/?igshid=15wzdrzfxdgs5
A shot of @readings.pk shelf. Since COVID visiting book stores has become very difficult but since it's Ramadan and soon it will be Eid which means I'll have money and many reasons to convince my family members to drive me to readings. I really miss emptying my wallet in a book store. . . . . . #books #bookstagram #booklover #bookshelf #bookstagrammer #bookphotography #bookaddict #bookaesthetic #darkacademia #read #reading #readingtime #readersofinstagram #readingaddict #reader #bookshelvesofinstagram #literature #instadaily https://www.instagram.com/p/CN77S-grhDF/?igshid=horwv18a304p

Arundhati Roy I came across Roy via a study circle last year in my university. I went home, did some Googling and reading her articles and at first sight loved her language. She writes in English, just like many other writers yet her works maintain a distinctive quality in them that puts her above all writers for me. She has written two works of fiction that I have read, enjoyed and loved. She has written many works of non-fiction on various political, social, economic issues out of which I have read Azadi (I shall read My Seditious Heart one day when I collect enough money to buy the Hardcover from readings but nvm). All her works make me marvel at her genius and her perspective. I see a green bush but I know Arundhati will see more in that or at least will write excellent about just a green bush. Anyways, the whole point of this post and me rambling at 8am in the morning before my maths class begins is that, you should read Arundhati Roy and I haven't met anyone who hasn't loved her (except a university fellow who just dislikes things just because a lot of people like them idk weird logic guy) Stay Safe 🌻 . . . . . . . . . #bookstagram #books #book #booklover #bookshelf #bookstagrammer #bookphotography #bookreview #bookaddict #bookaesthetic #bookaholic #arundhatiroy #india #literature #novel #read #reading #readersofinstagram #readingtime #readingaddict #reader #darkacademia #darkaesthetic https://www.instagram.com/p/CNjNF2XLRaN/?igshid=uilxeqcynf76
Dostoyevsky I really plan to read this at some point in future, maybe this month maybe next month, but I should read it because everyone and by that I literally mean everyone around me or people on bookstagram who inspire me are either reading or have read it. So let's hope I read this too. Also i bought this book before the first quarantine in 2020 so I need to like read it. . . . . . . #bookstagram #blogger #books #booklover #book #booksintranslation #bookshelf #bookstagrammer #bookflatlays #bookphotography #bookaddict #bookaesthetics #bookandcandle #read #reading #readersofinstagram #readersfirst #readingtime #readingaddict #reader #darkacademia #darkaesthetic #dostoyevski #russianliterature https://www.instagram.com/p/CNaTD5MLe3m/?igshid=1j61vktjkp2uq
The books written by Japanese authors that I own. 1- Breasts and Eggs by Mieko Kawakami. 2- Kafka on the shore by Haruki Murakami 3- 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami . I usually read Japanese/Korean fiction online or borrow them from the library. I'd love to buy more of the books I love! Also despite I have mixed feelings towards Murakami and yet I want to read and own all his works! . . . . . . . #books #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #bookssansborders #japanesebookstagram #booklover #booksintranslation #womanbookstagrammer #bookshelf #bookflatlays #bookphotography #bookreview #read #reading #readersofinstagram #readingtime #novel #bookaddict #bookaesthetics #bookaholic #darkacademia #murakami https://www.instagram.com/p/CNWsjaprnuY/?igshid=nzoubws4uwew
April TBR. I only plan to read these 4 books this month. I have been able to read very less in the month of march so no high hopes for April. I really hope to read these this month, let's see if I do read these. . . . . . #books #bookstagram #booklover #bookstagrammer #bookphotography #bookaddict #bookaholic #bookaesthetic #oxford #russell #read #readersofinstagram #reading #readingtime #bookshelf #pages https://www.instagram.com/p/CNIQ21xLBZW/?igshid=1lgu9d0o3roup
6 women authors I loved and so would you 🌻❤️ 1- Arundhati Roy The author of many works of fiction, non-fiction and essays, Her prose, world building, character analysis are all exceptional. She has written two works of fiction: The ministry of Utmost happiness and The God of small things which won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1996. My personal favourite among these two is The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. Her recent work of non-fiction, Azadi is a collection of essays. She writes about caste system, fascism, capitalism, world politics and politics of South Asia and many more issues. 2- Mieko Kawakami I have only read her novel Breasts and Eggs which was a wonderfully written debut novel dealing with themes of womanhood, patriarchy in contemporary Asian societies and societal pressure and conformity issues. 3- Hanya Yanagihara She has written two novels and I have read A little life only. The books was a roller coaster and a detailed review on it is coming soon! 4- Sylvia Plath Her novel A bell jar was an all time favourite of mine. Very insightful and very carefully written. The writing felt very personal and raw. I loved the novel and will love to read her poetry soon. 5- Margret Atwood She has written many novels and an anthology of poems titled Dearly. I have read her novels The Handmaids Tale which has a show on it too, I'm not sure on which platform and The Testaments. Both novels are Dystopian novels written around women. Both novels deal with women identity, role in a society as perceived by a conservative society and dictatorship (esp of men and how it's just stupid of them to think they can do so successfully) 6- Yaa Gyasi I am reading Transcendent Kingdom by her and will love to read Homegoing soon! So far her writing is very simple ( a quality which I love) very raw and personal. . Have you read any of these authors and what were your favourites? . . . . . . . #books #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #booklover #bookaddict #bookaesthetic #bookaholic #bookssansborders #booksbooksbooks #bookshelf #booksofinstagram #bookphotography #bookpile #darkacademia #lightacademia #read #readersofinstagram #readingtime #reading https://www.instagram.com/p/CM-Dij4rC-3/?igshid=70dy6be8lr88
