Nervous, he'd feel nervous, the kind of anxiety which makes your brain switch off and renders you unable to follow the simplest instructions, which would, of course, make the entire situation even worse for him. Another reminder of the cruel hands of fate having dealt him the wrong, worst cards. Do you not realise that he has spent his entire life working, working, reaching, reaching, and that is why he did not have the time to learn all those skills that everyone else seems to have, but he doesn't? Another reminder of what he is lacking. Another reminder that people cannot see what he does possess, and that they only judge him by what he does not have!

However, I think it would also depend on the angle in which you'd approach it! As I do headcanon him as someone who has a somewhat complex relationship with food and the idea of deserving anything nice, good for him in general, you would have to be pretty gentle. "Oh, you don't know how to cook properly?" Wrong, condescending. "You know, it's similar to science." Much better. He was making zinc sulfide at the age of, approximately, five or six, he knows how science works (!) and would be rather eager to impress you. Transferable skills!
