the only son of house vestra,   hubert was of course expected to be a powerful mage and formidable ally for the empire and edelgard,   the future empress,   but he was also expected to be of many talents.   outside of magic,   hubert is also fairly musically inclined.   he’s graceful enough on his feet to be a more-than-average dance partner,   but he’s also got an ear for tune and harmony.   while he cannot sing,   hubert can play instruments such as the piano & violin,   partly due to his own rigorously studious behavior,   and partly because he was taught the arts alongside the rest of his training growing up.

this kind of piggybacks off of a line that he actually uses in-game,   ie.,   if you choose hubert as a partner to cook with in the mess hall he’ll say something along the lines of how he “prefers his meat to still be bleeding” .......   but to this end i can only assume that hubert is the kind of man who eats his steak practically raw,   like,   ( chef ramsay voice ) it’s fucking raw raw.   and honestly i am ………… horrified

the longest amount of time hubert has stayed awake consecutively rounds off at about 84 hours,   or three and a half days.   this stretch of insomnia  /  sleeplessness occurred during that period of time during his childhood where edelgard was stolen away from the empire and tortured / experimented on by the ancient agarthans  /  those who slither in the dark.   

the most prominent among all the scars that line hubert’s body is one that can be found on the left-hand side of his abdomen;   it traces his skin in a gouge-like line.   this scar stems from an injury he sustained when he was in his very early teens,   having taken a dagger directly to his form in an attempt on his life by some assassin or another.   the likes of which stemmed from: a)  his being the only heir to house vestra,   and b)  his being the immediate right hand of edelgard,   the future empress.   he’s definitely taken more hits than just the one,   but this wound in particular has left the most resilient scar on his skin.

hubert is ambidextrous:   he can use either of his hands with the same level of proficiency when it comes to menial tasks   (  holding a utensil,   writing,   signatures,   etc.  ),   and it’s worth noting that they’re both equally strong.   however,   if one watches him carefully enough,   you’ll notice that he has an unconscious preference for his left.   ie.,    while he can perform the same skills with either hand,   his knee-jerk reaction is to reach for or initiate something with his left,   roughly 75% of the time.

therefore, hubert also has ancient blood running through him.
