Actually, Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke was very funny to me, specifically because so many of the reviews were like, “Oh, this is repulsive, exploitative traumaporn” et cetera. But it was probably one of the most boring, bland, uninspired “horror” novellas I’ve ever read. There’s no emotional hook to the relationship, everything just screams Quirked Up White People, and there isn’t even any substantial gore or anything. Bitch just shits out a massive tapeworm and dies. That’s it. I’ve read way worse.
