For one who lives off of making small wordless gestures, Link wasnât so keen on catching what the Detektive was asking for. He was more intrigued with the odd device they had pulled out. Hyrule had plenty of strange pieces of ancient technology to dig upâbut heâd never seen a thing like that before.
Ezlo, however, was a wiser bird and (somewhat) less distracted by shiny things. âPrincess Zelda,â he clarified. âSheesh, you mustâve been hiding under some rock if you havenât heard of what happened yet!â
At this, Link snapped out of his hypnosis, breaking his gaze away from the fascinating contraption. Away from the Detektive. He bit down on his lip, hard, to cover the pain of recent memories even if the deepening pout may have showed his true feelings. He could say heâs âsaving Zeldaâ jovially over and over againâbut he could never say from what without breaking the facade.
Sensing his partnerâs dismay, Ezlo stiffened and added quickly, âWeâre in a hurry, you see. Now if you donât mind, weâll be on our way. Good-bye, detective.â
âWait, Gluttonia has no...â
They looked up only to find that his hat was already trying to hurry him long.
ââHoy, wait! You canât do that!â they called in protest. They hoisted their body into a swift jog before they could get too far. âMy home being under a rock is no reason to dismiss me outright!â The short distance was enough to leave them slightly short of breath. âEspecially in matters of missing royalty.â
