I donât doubt that Trump wants to #makeamericagreatagain. Because his America is the male, white, and wealthy. Because when the poor start demanding health care and a living wage, and black people start protesting their murders at the hands of police, and immigrants & refugees stand up for basic rights - that threatens the American values that have been built on centuries of oppression, the same values that Trump has benefited from his entire life.
It must be scary as shit when those values are increasingly questioned.
And that means weâre doing something right.

there are a lot of posts going around here with a lot of notes about whatâs going on with amber heard and johnny depp and i definitely support the message about how important it is that a young, less established actress is risking a lot to get out of an abusive situation with an established and loved hollywood actor.Â
HOWEVER, whatâs annoying to me is the fact that none of these posts are talking about the fact that sheâs not only a young actress but also a bisexual actress, and the abuse she faced from depp was 100% linked to the fact sheâs bisexual. he tried to control who her friends were and tried to cut her off from her âlesbian friendsâ which imo is pretty clearly because either a) he was afraid sheâd cheat because lol bisexuals always cheat or b) he wanted to cut her off from people who are similar to her (read: lgbt identifying), and both reasons are abusive as fuck and happened because of her sexuality. not to mention the fact that the media is gonna demonize her for being bi and act as if her sexuality inherently discredits herâŚ
her sexuality is extremely important to this and it feels like a major erasure to ignore that a lot of her abuse was likely due to her being bisexual and the way she gets treated by the media will be influenced by the fact that sheâs an out bisexual woman.. donât ignore that!!Â
Honestly I wonât be impressed until someone like Gabourey Sidibie gets the same recognition as Beth Ditto, Tess Holiday and Melissa McCarthy.
Iâm really over this whole sea of white when it comes to positive fat visibility for women.
When I think about it I canât even name a fat Latina celebrity (death fat-ish size) or an Asian one! At all

We also fought in WWI despite not being US citizens.
In Arizona, natives werenât granted the right to vote until 1948. Think how that type of neglect ties into resource colonization as infrastructure was developed within years prior.Â
In addition: the indigenous peoples of Canada were not recognized as Human Beings until the year 1960. Now let that shit sink in.
In the US it wasnât until 1968 that the Indian Civil Rights Act was passed and allowed for the right to freedom of speech / assembly / press, a jury trial, the right to an attorney etc. Itâs so fucking frustrating.
and it wasnât until 1978 that we were legally allowed to practice our own religions. in a nation founded on religious freedoms, it was illegal to practice our own religions. in our own country. how fucked up is that?
Aaaand Native Americans werenât entitled to their own languages (had no legal rights to teach them in their schools, use them in business) until the Native American Language Act of 1990.
