is there specific ao3 tag for when a story has an ending where the misery is implied to continue. sad/unhappy ending implies it's a downturn, but in this case it's more that things get a little more complicated like stacking melodies/we see different facets of a gem but it's still the same main melody and gem and there's no conclusion or change so much as layers and then the story just stops where it stops. sort of slice of life but if it was evil and relentlessly bleak.

there's this one scene which is over 2k words long already and it's still going to go on for a while. it's really, really filled with new information for one conversation, but I like all of it and don't want to cut anything ;-;
