That might be one of my favorite moments in the show.

Going with the original intended plot where Ultraman inhabited his body and was always consciously interacting as Hayata, it's one of those weird instances where Shodai Ultraman gets some characterization outside of saving the planet from the monster of the week.

It's just kinda sweet that;

Ultraman has a sense of humor that includes small pranks.

He sees the SSSP as actual friends and is willing to use humor to connect with them.

If any of these actions ARE how Hayata would usually act (As he is the senior-most member in rank after Muramatsu, so he'd have to been working for SSSP for a couple years I'm sure.) then Ultraman might be drawing on Hayata's memories to help in the part he's playing and not let his mistake in killing Hayata diminish his relationships with his peers.

Godzilla currently suffers from the same issue as Batman, where people's perception of their "invincibility" is dampening the possible creative directions of the character.

Ultraman would totally beat Godzilla in a fight, and it's likely that a few versions of Gamera could as well.

You should eventually want the Monsterverse to end, or else future American films will always be locked into the rules and canon of that universe.

Monsterverse Godzilla has become one of the poorer versions of Godzilla because they can't make up their mind on whether he's a character or a plot device.

Destoroyah deserves very little of his reputation amongst the fandom. He did not kill Godzilla, Godzilla was going to die regardless. Is he still a great kaiju with a fantastic design? Hell yeah, but he also got bitched out of the sky by the Super X-lll after running like a coward.

On that note, EVERY kaiju, even Godzilla, has shown traits of cowardice in at least one appearance. That doesn't make them weak, just shows that they're still animals at heart with natural limits.

Toho has gone more corporate with Godzilla as early as 2016, and that might pose issues in the future if it hasn't already.

The original "death cry" from the end of 1984 doesn't resonate at all and sounds more like a drifting car than an animal in pain.

Memes and fanfiction aside, if you genuinely think two kaiju of differing biology are fucking, go outside more often.

Kumonga is more of an underrated kaiju than Varan.

Tomoyuki Tanaka doesn't get enough recognition by fans for his dedication to the franchise. Shogo Tomiyama is in the same boat.

KOTM killed off Serizawa for no fucking reason other than shock factor.

Godzilla's size doesn't have to be continually increased to make him terrifying in concept. Minus One's Goji being 50.1 meters tall proves that.

Switching out directors every few films helps refresh the style of the series and ensures it doesn't go stale.

While Ifukube's Godzilla March will always be the definitive theme, it needs to stop being so prevalent in newer films. Half of every Godzillas' identity is the music used in the background, and without a unique theme there's little to separate each incarnation from the other.

Nakajima, Satsuma, and Kitagawa are/were fantastic contributors to the franchise and suitmation, but there's more to it than just the three of them. People like Keizo Murase and other designers are steadily being forgotten by the fandom the same way Milicent Patrick had her contributions buried by producers at Universal.

Godzilla repeatedly being the sole survivor of his species with little explanation indirectly reinforces the image of him as "invincible." There needs to be more seen of him as an individual within a species so that when his loneliness is emphasized it is actually felt by the audience.
