Bede could be the Gym Leader of the Fairy Gym and the Psychic Gym if he really wanted to, and he’d probably beat Avery one-on-one fairly easily. He absolutely did not abandon Psychic-Types, so Avery claiming he did just makes him dumb and/or blind. Or maybe he’s just too ignorant and arrogant to realize Fairies can be dual-type.
