The 2025 Nuclear Family
Wattpad wouldn’t survive the canonical porn without plot tag on AO3 😭 But in all seriousness this isn’t new. Wattpad has always been very pro censorship and a lot of authors have had their works removed with no warning before, so this looks to me like same old rules just even more strict than before? And don’t get me started on the ads that have been flooding the site for years, unless you subscribe to an ad-free Wattpad premium where you won’t get ads as long as you pay, but your works will still get removed if it’s too spicy or taboo and someone reports it. This is why we love AO3
Where are yall writing?

Happy Juneteenth 2026
For Juneteenth this year, I'd like to share some information about a woman who few may have heard of. Her name is Dr. Opal Lee and she is considered the Grandmother of Juneteenth. She is still alive today as of June 19th 2026 at 99 years old!
Known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” Dr. Opal Lee was present on June 17, 2021, when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act bill that established June 19 or “Juneteenth” a federal holiday. Ms. Lee said on that day, “Now we can celebrate freedom from the 19th of June to the 4th of July!” Opal Lee was born in Marshal, Texas, in 1926 and moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1937. At the age of 12, her family’s home was destroyed on June 19, 1939, but she nor her family allowed that to deter them from making an impact in the community.

tumblr cannot take Any amount of confrontation omg. why are so many people getting on you for Racists Should Feel Scared Of Being Racist. its like antiracism 101.
it’s all “kill all fascists” until someone asks for actual antiracist action. its all “punch nazis” until a Black woman says racists should not be made to feel comfortable in their racism
(and by saying this i’m not saying You were saying Punch Racists, i’m pointing out how insane it is that people talk so much game about being antiracist and are still deeply concerned with white people who “don’t know they’re being racist” or whatever)
Yeah 😅 I don't quite understand it myself.
This year has been the year of me realizing that things like
"racists shouldn't be comfortable being racist"
"saying the n word is not funny nor acceptable no matter what"
"hanging with white supremacists makes you complicit with their white supremacy", and
"no amount of being queer cancels out being racist"
are all apparently things that are just... Too hard to grasp?
And it's really wild because it exposes who thinks they're the ones being pointed out. Because I've never in my life felt the need to defend someone's right to be racist to someone else. Like... Who are y'all fighting for? Who is this imaginary other group that Needs To Be Protected, so badly, that racism just Has To Happen? That it just Can't Be Responded To? And why do y'all always think that We have to be the sacrifice for that?
What CAN I ask you to do? If I can't ask you to kick bigots out your spaces, if I can't ask you to ask questions or hold peers accountable, if I can't ask you to read books or self reflect or give up the occasional form of entertainment... What can I ask of you? How are you gonna help me? Why should I trust you have my best interest in mind when you aren't willing to do ANYTHING that suggests allyship? Why do you think I should trust you?
Adding "no you don't get to be antiblack to a Black person just because you don't like them or disagree with them politically, it's still racist and you're still in the wrong" to this list. Highly contentious one, even!

ok but for serious i hate hate HATE when trans headcanons get rebutted with the "it's reinforcing gender roles to make the feminine boy a trans girl" or the "it's taking away rep to make this girl character a trans boy" because of the unspoken implication that cis experiences and representation should ALWAYS take priority over trans ones. but like its literally a real thing that some trans women identified as gnc boys before realizing, or some trans men thought they were lesbians before coming out, why can't these experiences be depicted in headcanons?! why is the gnc cis experience so sacred it has to be preserved at all costs? why is denying transition as an option NOT considered reinforcing gender roles?
and for the record, i dont think ANY trans headcanon NEEDS to have evidence or a reason to exist it should be allowed even if it "doesn't make sense". the only trans headcanons i believe deserve criticism are bigoted ones, like making misogynistic abuser male characters trans women.
It wouldn't even make the top 80% of the worst consequences of cultural fatphobia, but how dare we have made a world in which it is not broadly considered a compliment to compare someone to the beautiful and noble whale
