Lights up. // Hey all! Okay, so, it’s been a while, and I’m not sure if you guys noticed me working on dusting off my blogs, but here we go!  So for those of you who have recently followed me… Welcome! I feel really bad about that since I was in some really weird hiatus stuff, but HIIIII. I’M HERE NOW.

I just moved across the country (July 23rd-ish) and got a new job (September 11th) and got married (September 16th), so my schedule’s still a touch wonky as we navigate the holidays together and everything, but I think I’m mostly here.  I just got xkit on my computer again, so we’ll see how this goes. <3

That said, something really bizarre is going on with my inboxes, so I’ve temporarily closed my inbox and submissions for my blogs until I get it squared away.  I’ve also purged most of my drafts– it looks like there were a lot of URL changes/blog closures since most of those drafts were made, so we’ll see what happens there.

Also, PSA… Reno’s blog will be the last one I work on restarting! He’s easily my most popular character, but for now, he might stay something of just an ask blog while I get my others going first.  I don’t want to get caught in the same emotional trap I did last time, where Reno had something like twenty+ threads and my others had one to five threads.  So there will be a thread cap on Reno after I get settled.

(That said, he’s always down for ask-box shenanigans, and I love metaing. So feel free to shoot those in once I open up the ask boxes again.)

I really, honestly, doubt I’ll use this tag much, but I thought I might need it all the same.  It covers everything that occurs from when Reeve is brought into the Shinra home at six until he turns eighteen and moves into his own apartment.

His primary function during this is to translate his father’s notes, but by fifteen, he’s reworking the entire design for Midgar and the reactors.  By sixteen, he’s the lead engineer for all reactors except for Nibelhiem.

From there, he begins building.  Expanding.  Urban Development isn’t yet created, but the seeds are sown.

This is my ‘default’ verse.  If something is not game-plot-specific and you’re not playing an ACC/DoC character, I’m going to assume you want this one.

This is essentially Reeve’s life from after he leaves the Shinra Manor at eighteen all the way up until the start of the game when he’s thirty-five.  For my own sanity, there is little to no mention of anything directly plot-related to Before Crisis or Crisis Core.  So while things might get a handwave, none of those plots or events in threads here will directly tie into those canon events.

Characters from those games are more than welcome to play in this verse, however, as I assume everyone exists here. <3

Reeve lives in the same building from eighteen on, but around twenty-two, he moves into the penthouse because he’s been made a board member.  He’s twenty when he sets up City Planning, and he’s twenty-six when it transitions into Urban Development.

This is identical to my default verse except that it’s reserved for plot lines that will tie directly into major plot points from either Before Crisis or Crisis Core.  So if you want to rewrite SOLDIER desertion or you want to explore something with details from those games?  This is the verse you want.

For anything that happens directly during the events of the game.  If you want to rewrite it or create an offshoot of anything like that, it’ll go here.  It assumes that the events of BC/CC happened, but I likely won’t go in depth about them unless our plot calls for it.

My default for anything post-OG is generally pre-ACC, but that said, any plot points that happen in ACC or DoC can be used or discarded for the sake of plot.  Reeve is 35+ in this verse.

Understanding a character’s flaws is key to making them well-rounded and believable, so send me a number (and a character, if there’s more than one option) and I’ll tell you:

a trait they have too much of  (ex. too much pride = arrogance)

a trait they don’t have enough of (ex. too little pride = insecurity)

a trait they express in the wrong way

a trait they’re ashamed of

a trait they’re not ashamed of (but maybe should be)

a bad habit

something they do that hurts themself

something they do that hurts others

a reason (or excuse) they haven’t improved on any of the above OR

I know it’s your least-used character.  I know you hate it more than Yuffie.  But I promise you, there is so much more to Cait Sith than you realize.

That said, while I have tons of feels regarding Cait Sith and Reeve's direct connection, they are all basically the same as ERC's, and her post is much more eloquent than I'd be.

My only note to add here is that before people protest that Reeve was probably controlling Cait Sith at Rufus's order and thus didn't have to "hide" it... Reeve does, on at least one thing, let the AVALANCHE crew "listen in" on the plan for the Huge Materia.
