Okay well. My main WIP is actually a detailed outline that I’m writing for a fic WIP to come, so this is not the actual prose that you’ll read when I finish and publish the fic—but rather, a description of it.
This, friends, is from the outline of an arranged marriage slow burn AU.
“What’s this for?” [Essek] asks.
Caleb looks pulled short and stammers that [the porcelain cat statuette is] just a little gift, he doesn’t know if Essek likes cats but it made him thinks of him, and as Essek’s confused silence stretches on Caleb says Essek doesn’t have to accept it, he can take it back, it’s fine, it was foolish, and he makes to take it back—but Essek pulls it out of reach and tells him no, it’s lovely, thank you.
Caleb smiles awkwardly and excuses himself. Essek makes a note to quietly dispose of it at some point. It doesn’t go with his decor.
But come the next morning, it’s still there.
