Please post your tentative draft of your Project 4 thesis statement. Then, below it, write out a basic outline for your project so I can see your ideas for your body paragraphs. Here’s a sample for what to follow:

Don’t worry about information for your introduction and conclusion. Those will build over time. For now, I’m only interested in knowing the structure and main ideas for your body of your project.

Please respond to the following questions in a freewrite exercise. Freewriting is a method of writing where you start writing and don’t stop until the time has run out or you feel your response is complete. If you can’t think of anything to write, keep typing - writing “i don’t know what to write” or “blaidjf;oaihw;ands” is just as effective, and keeps your fingers and your brain moving. 

Some questions to prompt you:

What is your topic from Project 1? Can you clearly and succinctly write it out? It should include your film, your social justice issue, and the impact of the intersection of both on your life.

What specific facet of this topic might you be interested in making an argument on for this project? Take as specific a topic, and as specific a stance as possible. If you need to use more than a few words or a sentence or two, you’re probably thinking too broadly.

Please post a link to the text you wish to analyze for project 3. Remember that it needs to be published, credible, at least 1,000 words, and interesting to you. It must also be a strong argument so that you can pick it apart to determine if it is effective or ineffective in convincing its intended audience.

Please write out a paragraph of description for one of your chosen criteria for your project. I expect at least 150 words. Try, if you can, to not just write what’s going on in the piece of media, but start to make connections and describe the meaning of what is in the piece of media.

Please post your topic choice for Project 2. You need the following things:

1. The piece of media you want to analyze

2. The reasons why you’re interested in analyzing it

Post a tentative draft of your thesis statement for Project 1 so I can see it and make comments on it. Make sure you follow our roadmap listed on the prompt so you include everything you need to have a successful thesis.

Write at least 250 words about why you think writing matters. What is important about writing today? What will be important about writing to you in your courses? Your career? How will you use writing? Are there any ways you think writing won’t be helpful to you?

Please tell me what you want your Project 1 Topic to be. You must include the following elements:

1. What film you choose

2. What social justice issue it connects to
