     “Eh? You’ve never heard of Buddyfight before?”

     There were plenty of games existing out in the world; most of them the youth had tried at some time or another. Yet nothing grasped the attention of the masses more than Buddyfight. Widely popular as it was as both a sport and pass time, it was virtually impossible to not come across it. To hear of someone who didn’t know of it even existing…

Sneakers running in the grass filled her ears as Michiru ran through the open field. Fields like this was rare to Michiru her home didn’t have many places like this, sure it had forests but an open field, nope not many of those. Though soon as rare as the field was it got rather boring out here with no one to really talk to or run with. Normally Nazuna would have accompanied her to a place like this to hang out, but the chances of her actually showing up would be rather slim if at all. Though with all her wondering Michiru soon found herself in this field of grass with the night sky over her, yet another rare sight to her with how the city lights would blur out the sky most times. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she looked around for something as a landmark, but her eye caught something…different.

A girl…with pink hair. Though pink wasn’t the exact color it was enough to get her mind racing with the memories of her friend soon finding herself walking towards the girl. “Um hey there!” Muchiru would shout as she approached the girl from afar making she to wave her arm in greeting trying to seem friendly. She stopped quiet a few feet away from the girl, a big goofy smile on her face, yep she had never seen this girl before. “Hi, I’m Michiru, it’s nice to meet you!” Michiru said without even asking why the girl was out here, for all Michiru knew she could be lost…or a criminal.

Yuzu couldn’t ever see the other dimensions up in the sky. Even when she was still back home, and very much knew of their existence after everything that happened, she couldn’t see them. They were dimensions, after all, not planetary objects.

And yet, here she was again, in a field familiar only because of how many times she’s frequented the place, still looking at the sky, as if she might see something besides constellations she had no names for. Despite the dimension she existed in, they all shared the same sky, and that was one thing she took comfort in. Bloom Prima pulled at her arm, and when Yuzu looked at her, she noticed the expression of concern on the plush’s face.

“I’m okay,” she told Bloom Prima, and it wasn’t a lie. The homesickness, though not completely, was easing off. Yuzu was about to turn her attention back to the night sky again before something else caught that same attention. Someone greeting her from afar.

Did she know the girl? She waved back, puzzled, with a hesitant smile on her face. She tried to think of anyone who she might have known from either Maiami or Wonderland who fit the description of the girl waving at her but no matter how hard she thought, Yuzu was sure she'd never met her before.

Maybe Yuzu was just thinking too much about a question where the answer was simply that the other was being friendly. “It’s...” She mentally shook off whatever residual suspicions she might have had about the situation and smiled properly. When did she become so on edge? She knew how to be friendly. “It’s nice to meet you too! I’m Yuzu.”

Bloom Prima rested on her head, and Yuzu looked around. It didn’t look like the girl — Michiru — came with anyone. “If you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing out here?” It was a question borne out of curiosity. “There’s... not much to do, to be honest. Oh, unless you came to see the stars?”

Chise looked at the girl she could not help but think of her friend Stella at home.

“I’m okay thank you.” Chise said with a small smile as she picked up some of the jars and put them in a bag.

“Thank you for helping me, it is really nice of you.” Chise added as she held the other bag out for the girl to add them in.

“My name is Chise by the way, Chise Hatori.”

“Yuzu Hiiragi,” Yuzu replied in turn with a smile of her own. Her mood was still somewhat sour on the girl’s behalf after what happened, but helping the redhead made the earlier anger ebb away. She placed the sprigs in the bag Chise held out and Bloom Prima did the same with the lavenders.

Now that the bags were reunited with their contents and ready to be picked up, Yuzu realized that one person couldn’t reasonably carry all of them. How Chise managed to carry so many bags on her own in the first place was a mystery.

          LATELY, IT HAS BEEN CALM FOR WONDERLAND—MAYBE EVEN TOO CALM. Sasuke still has trouble adjusting to calmness, if he was being honest. How can he adjust quickly when his whole life was producing turmoil after turmoil? He just can’t, no one can. But, as he walks through the neighborhoods on his daily patrolling, his usually tense body couldn’t help but slowly share the calmness of Wonderland. 

The raven-haired cop looked upwards, noticing there were dark clouds looming ahead. It’s going to rain, without a doubt—heavy rain. It was further backed with occasional thunder rolling through as he casually walked. If people don’t get back home soon, then they’d be stuck inside somewhere just waiting for the rain to stop. That’s an unfortunate circumstance for anyone. As he walked along the pavements, he would count the times apart each thunderous boom would appear. One…two…three…And so on.

However, that process was stopped when he had seen a little girl approaching him—distress in her features. Standing in attention, he would listen to the other’s case. A missing plush, huh. The officer took the card from her grasp, studying the picture carefully before handing it back to her.

❝ I haven’t. ❞

Sasuke replied truthfully. As much as he didn’t like seeing displeased faces of little kids, it was better to tell the truth than to get their hopes up and see something far worse than displeasure. Nevertheless, Sasuke wasn’t doing much anyway. He was almost done patrolling the streets.

❝ We could take a look. ❞

He replied a little awkwardly. Sasuke had never been good with talking to kids, finding it a hassle or simply something that wasn’t in his agenda. He honestly couldn’t remember talking to another that wasn’t close to his age or older. The last he had probably talked to a little kid was Konohamaru—maybe? He couldn’t remember. Even then he was still a kid himself. But that was besides any point.

❝ Where did you see your plush last? ❞

The quicker they find the plush, the safer she gets back home.

“Oh...” 

Even though his answer was within the realm of expectation, Yuzu couldn’t stop the frown that pulled the corner of her lips downwards. She took the card returned to her and her eyes remained on the art depicted upon it. Really, where had Bloom Prima gone?

Now that the fairy-type was missing, Yuzu realized how comforting her presence had been. When she first arrived in Wonderland, having Bloom Prima as a plushie took some getting used to, especially after the monster gained enough magic to flit about. It wasn't that she hadn't seen Bloom Prima by her side before, she had. The monster fought with her in many battles. It was having Bloom Prima around all the time that was strange. Normally, Bloom Prima only existed in reality as far as a duel required her to be when Yuzu summoned her. In Wonderland, that changed.

But once Yuzu got used to having her around (after a duration that, frankly, wasn’t very long, because although her current state was strange, Bloom Prima was still a monster dear to her like the rest of her deck), she couldn’t imagine spending her time in the mysterious world without the plush.

She blinked, pulled out of her thoughts by the man’s next words. She looked at him, surprise clear on her features. “Really?”

She shouldn’t look so surprised. He was an officer. He had to help citizens in need. Still... did her problem really require an officer’s valuable time? Despite thinking that, she knew having his help would speed up the process of finding Bloom Prima. The dark sky above them wasn't going to wait.

“Well, if it’s not too much trouble...”

She slotted the card back into her duel disk’s extra deck compartment before she curled a hand under her chin, thoughtful. Her monster was still with her after she left school, she recalled that much, so Bloom Prima definitely wasn’t there. She hadn’t seen Bloom Prima in the areas she already backtracked through, so those could easily be crossed off too.

“I’m not sure, to be honest. That’s why I’m having such a hard time trying to find her,” Yuzu frowned again. “I was planning to check around the concert hall next.”

Chise was walking down the street. She had bags full of groceries and ingredients and so on. Should she not be carrying so much at once…yes was that going to stop her though, no way. At least it wasn’t until someone shoulder checked herand her bag of lavender sprigs, sage, and mason jars fell on the ground.

“Oh man” She muttered as she carefully stepped to the side of the sidewalk. She quickly dragged everything over towards her her before anyone stepped on it. She turned to look at who did it. She caught sight on the man behind her in a suit walking away. She let out a sigh and carefully started to check the mason jars for cracks as she started to repack the bag.

Yuzu, who saw the scene unfold, reached out on reflex, but it was too late. Everything the other girl was holding was now on the ground, and the man who bumped into her didn't even spare a look behind him to check on her.

"Hey! At least apologize!" Yuzu glared at his retreating back, but the man went on his way and day, as if Yuzu hadn't said anything at all. Pushing it into a confrontation would just cause a bigger scene and would probably only serve to give the girl more trouble. She sighed at the thought and walked on over to the redhead.

    Sighing from relief and excitement forming at the incoming meal, Leorio felt himself grin at Yuzu and started to work towards the stall. Thankfully his work at the clinic has made his spending budgets more manageable as of late.

    Hearing Yuzu’s question, Leorio turned around to look at her, “Well…I think I’ve been here for a couple of months now? To be honest, since I started workin’ at the clinic, the days have kinda been slipping by…but since this whole festival’s started up,” Leorio threw a glare at the glorified mirror, “I started to remember what I missed about home…”

     Leorio felt his mood shift as he glared daggers at the Looking Glass, and he quickly snapped himself out of it and put a smile on his face, “S-Sorry about that! How long have you been in Wonderland? I haven’t seen ya around much, but I’ve basically been living at the clinic lately…”

     Getting near the stall, Leorio caught someone’s attention and placed his order, “Just an order of tonkatsu ramen please, and whatever she would like,” Leorio motioned to Yuzu.

Yuzu found herself frowning at the mention of the duration of his stay. Would she also stay in this world for that long? She followed his glare to the mirror with her eyes and with a deeper frown. Though she was glad to know that her friends and family were all alright back in Maiami City, she almost wished she never looked into the cursed thing. It only made her wish to return home all the greater and it reminded her that she still had no clue of how she could possibly achieve that desire.

She pushed the thought away and brought her attention back to the conversation at hand. It looked like Leorio didn’t have the best opinion of the mirror either.

“A clinic? Oh! The one at Jax?” She’s thankfully been of good health and therefore never had the need to go to the place yet but considering she lived in the area, she passed by it on occasion. They reach the stall before she answered his actual question so she held off answering to place her order first.

“The Hero Killer isn’t blindly leading us, however, he is captured. I may be a villain but that doesn’t disregard that i do have someone I care about. Especially when that person is the only one that has ever stood by my side…regardless of what I’ve did. Let alone how awful I look on the outside. She knows the real me.”

Dabi couldn’t begin to explain just how much his fellow ally made him feel, it was a feeling that he had never truly experienced before. It was strange, he wasn’t usually expressive to begin with, but with the words Yuzu was saying, he took into consideration that this was the same way he was affection others back home. The fact that he had to leave his family behind, not being able to return properly due to his father being the new number one hero. 

That was probably getting to his head and Dabi knew it. How much of a fake he was. Nevertheless, he listened.

“Of course I would.”

“The only difference is. If anyone touched or hurt her…they’re going to be set to flames.” He said softly, not wanting to even fathom the thought.

“Maybe that is how they feel, but I’m still figuring out how these things…these feelings…are supposed to be handled. I’ve never felt them so much.”

There was hope, maybe, in the idea of getting the older teen to change his view of the world. 

"Why don’t you think of your own will?” Yuzu asked, a small smile on her face. She knew it could just be her being hopeful, but she felt like she was finally getting through to him, and she couldn’t fight off the smile that came from that hope. “You don't have to follow Hero Killer. You could choose your own path, one that doesn't involve hurting people. A different perspective could help you understand your feelings better.”

Besides, how could he consider doing good while he followed someone evil? Maybe he had a good heart, somewhere deep down. She didn’t doubt his threat to burn those who would hurt someone precious to him. It was violent and scary, but if she put that aside for a minute, she knew that the ability to care about someone else to such an extent couldn't come from a purely evil heart. There were those who only thought of themselves and by caring about someone else, Dabi proved he wasn’t like that. 

Dabi was deep in his thoughts before he heard Yuzu begin to speak again, an expression of confusion plastered on his partially scarred face. Then it went from confusion to pondering, a fist clenching up at the thought of something- or someone hurting her.

The same villain he had come with to meet Tomura, back when they heard about the League of Villains, she was the one who was there by his side. Eagerly hearing her joyful voice, how excited she was to be a a part of a villain team. Although he wasn’t so sure himself since he couldn’t take her childish antics seriously, he eventually warmed up to the blonde he called an ally.

The patched male couldn’t even begin to think about the Hero Killer betraying those who believed in him, let alone hurt her directly. It almost ticked him off in a way. But Dabi wasn’t one to just let anyone hurt the person that he considered closest to himself, not without risking it all and releasing his anger into his burst of flames.

“No. Not her.” He said with a quiet tone, “I wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen.” 

“Then is it really that hard to think that others might feel the same way you do? That they might have people they want to protect, the way you want to protect your special person?” Yuzu continued in asking. “If you don’t care about who you hurt while you blindly follow Hero Killer’s ideal, you might end up hurting a person that’s important to someone else. Even if you don’t agree with how the heroes of your world behave, isn’t that too much?”

Yuzu wasn’t sure if any of her words were getting through to him, but she had to continue trying. “You’d feel terrible if someone hurt the person you care about, right? It’s the same for the heroes in your world. They have people they care about, and people who care about them.”

“No.” Dabi answered simply, “Not anymore.” The foreign memories of having a family was something long gone in the villain’s memory, of course he still remembered them. But he wasn’t close to them at all. After all, they were all heroes. How could he fit in with them now?

Narrowing his eyes as he thought about the League, they were basically his team now. His family. All except one. 

The faint imagery of the golden eyed devil he has met appeared in his head, a small smile appearing on his face as he pictured her rosy cheeks and dangerously cheerful smile.

Before she could ask what he was on about, his hand raised up to mess with his hair, “Except her.” He said with a small scoff, shaking his head before proceeding to answer her other question.

“I don’t have any other will than to follow who I look up to. I agree with his ideals, there’s nothing more, nothing less.”

Yuzu thought the matter was hopeless at the words ‘not anymore’. She didn’t know what else to say to convince him to care. If he didn’t care about anyone or anything except following such a destructive ideal, then maybe he was—

Then she heard the mention of a person, and the reaction the mention of them brought. So there was someone. It was one person; Yuzu didn’t know what sort of person they were, but one person might be all it took to help her find a way to make Dabi understand how wrong the person he followed was.
