Kakashi

•Okay so I don’t remember exactly how old Kakashi was when he was still an ANBU, so assuming it’s when he was older, he’s still probably not at an age or a position in his life where he’s ready for kids. I don’t see Kakashi planning for kids at any point in time in his life tbh, so it’s definitely going to be difficult hearing that his s/o is pregnant

•When his s/o first tells him about the pregnancy, Kakashi probably takes a few days to himself. He knows it’s irrational, but he’s mad at his s/o. He’s mad at himself. Mad at the situation. They should have been more careful. And he has no right to tell his s/o to get rid of it or anything extreme like that, and he knows how dishonorable it would be to abandon them with his child, so he’s trying to wrap his head around the situation and the reality that he’s going to be a dad, whether he likes it or not

•His relationship with his s/o will be strained at first. He knows he can’t blame them for what’s happened, but Kakashi can be a little petty, so he doesn’t know where to direct his anger. On account of this, he’ll be a little distant from his s/o in the beginning while he’s still trying to figure everything out. He’s still incredibly busy with his Anbu work so that’s a good opportunity to get away from them

•One of the worst phases is when everyone starts hearing about the pregnancy. Some will congratulate him, others will sneer—either way, Kakashi is a little embarrassed and overwhelmed by the attention

•It’s just one of those phases during the pregnancy where he’s really wrapped up in anxiety and doubt. He’ll come to accept the pregnancy and know that there’s nothing that can be done about it. At that point, his concerns lie with actually being a father. Is he going to be a good one? Will he be able to provide for the baby and his s/o? He just doesn’t know

Jiraiya

•Tbh he prefers dates in the afternoon because that’s when everyone in the village is out and he does admit, it’s nice when everyone gets to see his girl on his arm as they walk through the village streets. He’s a bit of a show off

•That being said, quiet dates where it’s just him and his s/o are just as nice too. It really just depends on Jiraiya’s mood

•He at one point probably suggests they have a home-cooked romantic dinner date. His girl probably though he was going to be the one cooking. Meanwhile, he had actually been suggesting that she cook. So when they get together, and no one’s cooked anything, and there’s not shit to eat, the little home-cooked date idea kinda just falls apart. They probably go for ramen at that point

•He gets a little self-enthused when it comes to picking dates. He’d tell his girl that finding a nice spot out in the forest and just relaxing as he writes his novel sounds like a good date idea. No Jiraiya. 

•Honestly just visiting a little tea shop is probably Jiraiya’s favorite, basic date. He doesn’t have to spend too much money, and the atmosphere is nice. As long as his girl doesn’t let him drink sake, at least. Jiraiya easily gets drunk on dates if he’s allowed too much alcohol

•His favorite time of the year is festival time, because it’s easy to take his girl on a date. It’s not that he’s lazy or anything, but if there’s already a big festival with fireworks and great food and cute outfits, it’s pretty convenient just to have a date night then. That way, it’s fun without Jiraiya really having to try. Yeah he’s kinda cheap, I know

•Sorry but I gotta include a little nsfw- 

Jiraiya expects some pussy after dates? To him, no date is complete without some nice sex. Romantic or kinky, doesn’t matter. It probably depends on the date. Was it a romantic dinner date? Then he wants to have some romantic sex afterwards. Was it a fun date? They need some fun kinky sex then

Lee

•Lee has a 24-hour preparation period before any date. It’s like he’s gotta hype himself up. HE’S SO CUTE BUT SUCH A DORK AHHH HE LIKE… TIMES HIMSELF. HE HAS A MENTAL COUNTDOWN UNTIL IT’S DATE TIME. Counts down the hours, literally. Partly because yes he’s a dork. But also because he’s just!!! Really excited!!

•Tries to decide what to give his s/o before the date. Flowers? Food? Candy? He doesn’t know. He just brings everything he can. Shows up at her doorstep with a shit load of presents in his arms

•That’s a continuous thing by the way. Not just a first date gesture. Lee feels like he always has to bring a present for his s/o before every date. He somehow never runs out of gift ideas

•He for some reason needs to let everyone know he’s going on a date?? It’s not like he’s going to announce it to the village or anything, but if someone asks him why he’s running around town looking for gifts, or doing 1000 push ups, he has to explain, “Because it is date night!!! I have to be prepared!!!”

•The push ups are just to make sure he’s energetic and ‘at his best’, by the way. The more he works out, the better the date will be. That’s his logic. Gai probably told him that

•He doesn’t really care where they go on dates tbh. It’s kind of annoying, that whole thing about guys not making any actual plans for dates, and just making the girl choose. Yeah that’s Lee. But maybe his girl doesn’t mind? Because if it were up to Lee, he’d say that going to train together might be a nice date idea. Which isn’t awful, but it’s kind of tiring when the dude is challenging his girl to a sit up contest or a ‘Who can stand on one hand the longest’ competition every five minutes

•He could really dig some simple dates though, like a ramen or mochi date

•He’s also really into group dates. Even if he and his girl are the only actual couple. He’ll take her to dinner when some of the Konoha 11 crew go eat together. With how affectionate and obnoxious Lee can be though, they always feel like third-wheels

Kakashi

•A snow date sounds super cute??? Of course this is reserved for when it’s actually snowing in Konoha, but Kakashi would find a stroll through the snowy village streets to be quite relaxing. Plus the scenery is nice, and if his girl is into that kinda cheesy, aesthetic stuff, he’s hoping it’ll be enough for her. He likes the dates where he doesn’t have to try too hard, ya feel?

•Sometimes their dates are just… odd? Kakashi can be such a busy guy, he often tells his girl he doesn’t really have time to do much, but she can come along on missions and diplomacy trips with him (as long as they’re not dangerous). He’s like ‘uhhhhhhh I know you said you wanted to do something together tonight but I gotta go to the Suna for something so… road trip maybe?’. These types of ‘dates’ are especially likely if his girl is a shinobi too

•He does not like dates that are in crowded places okay. He seems like a collected guy, but I actually headcanon he gets a little nervous when around a lot of people while he’s trying to be intimate with someone. He feels a little vulnerable with everyone watching him

•He thinks dinner dates are kind of boring actually? But they’re the easiest thing to do, so he probably has one or two food places in the village that he frequents with his girl

•Being Kakashi Hatake and all, he gets a lot of recognition and favors from people in the village. Often times, he doesn’t even get to pay for their meals because the shop owner always gives him a little wink and says it’s on the house. Which is great for Kakashi because sweet, free food. Wallet saved. But then again, he can’t really be romantic and pay for his girl when half the village is doing it for him

Shisui

•He feels very lucky to have an intelligent s/o. Of course he’ll be proud of any s/o no matter their characteristics and attributes, but he always feels like it’s such a privilege to be dating someone that’s so smart? Like wow! The brain power. He loves it.

•He may have a weird thing for the way they talk…? They just sound like they know what they’re talking about. And they do. And it’s kinda hot  

•And really, he just enjoys hearing them talk. When they’re not only passionate about something, but well-informed too—ugh his weakness

•Shisui is both book smart and street smart, but Shisui with a book smart s/o is sooo cute, because maybe they’re not all that familiar with social situations or how to have good conversations—they have all that brain but don’t know how to use it. Shisui thinks it’s cute lol. He’d like a cute book worm 

•On the other hand, the street smarts is pretty great too. If he doesn’t know what herbs are best to put in his tea when he’s feeling under the weather, his s/o will. If he doesn’t know the best way to haggle with street vendors, his s/o will

Kakashi

•The only one marginally jeopardized by his s/o’s intelligence, and that’s only because sometimes he’s so dumb™ that he’s afraid he makes his s/o look bad

•Like… Kakashi is self-aware lol. He knows he’s kinda lazy, a little lackadaisical, too. Isn’t his s/o out of his league? He’s a little embarrassed that they’re so smart… 

•But still if it came down to it, Kakashi will happily admit his s/o is smarter than him with no grief at all

•Ok but PLEASE imagine that they were in the same academy class—and little shit juvenile Kakashi used to HATE them because they were always at the top of the class with him. He hated the competition. They never got along but now look at them awwww a happy couple 

•Arguing (or more like debating) is still not fun but at least Kakashi finds they always end on civil grounds. They both know the smart thing to do is let bygones be bygones

•Ok but sometimesss intelligence means there could be some arrogance involved. Kakashi knows this because he’s a prime example. So they’ll clash sometimes 

Itachi

•There aren’t many people as smart as Itachi but if he finds someone who is—great! Makes the relationship more fun, and in may cases, more comfortable for him

•If they’re intelligent they’re likely also intuitive. Itachi doesn’t have to spell out things for them all the time. Doesn’t have to downplay the “Sorry, I’m busy today” let down. They’ll expect him to have a full schedule, and make other plans ahead of time so Itachi doesn’t have to worry about leaving them on their own

•What’s most likely to happen is that Itachi and his s/o will have different kinds of intelligence, areas that overlap and areas that differ so that they can learn from each other

•He likes that they have opinions about things, too. He won’t mind if their opinions differ, either. He listens to their side because he knows they’re passionate about what they’re saying

Shikamaru

•He swears he’s not going to spoil his kid(s) but he spoils his daughter, almost unintentionally 

•Like he’ll be the first one to scold her for something but also the first one to tell his spouse to calm down and “let the kid live a little”. Then slip her some shopping money. He hates griping (unless he’s the one doing it) and he hates people griping at his daughter (again, unless he’s the one doing it)

•His daughter heard that her dad is the smartest guy in the village, but that doesn’t make much sense because when she asks him questions, he never has an answer

“Why is the sky blue daddy?”

“I dunno.”

He must be stupid 

•He acts like he doesn’t love everyone in the village fawning over his little adorable girl, but he’s so flattered by it

Shino

•Please imagine he has a daughter that is terrified/grossed out by bugs

•Big rip 

•Shino is so devastated. He tries to introduce her to the “nicer” bugs first. Sure she likes butterflies and ladybugs, but when he shoves a giant beetle into her face, she screams

•So he has to find other ways to bond with her. Which is alright. Disappointing. But alright

•He hopes she at least enjoys nature. He loves taking her for walks in the Konoha forests, holding her hand, getting her ice cream to take on the trip 

•And at the end of the day when she’s exhausted, he’ll carry her home and tuck her into bed 

Kakashi

•His guilty pleasure is cuddling her even when she doesn’t want to be cuddled. She can push him away with her little baby hands all she wants, he’s still squeezing her

•Which doesn’t translate well to when she’s older because then Kakashi is the embarrassing dad that wants public hugs 

•Then he gets all funny about it when she refuses, like “What? You don’t love your dad anymore?”

•But back to her being a little girl—he’s horrible with dressing her up/doing her hair. Better hope someone else is around to help him, because if he’s left on his own, she’s going out in mismatched clothes and the raggediest looking hair you’ve ever seen
