Dr. Claud Anderson discusses how immigration economically harms Black Americans. Yet, Black voters continue to support the Democratic Party with 92% of their votes, despite the party's policies that may negatively impact them. Is this insanity or simply ignorance?

Unfortunately, the greatest fear and deterrent against racism is empowering the very people it targets, preventing them from achieving economic independence. College education often equips individuals to build, maintain, and strengthen oppressive systems that were never designed to liberate those they oppress, particularly Foundational Black Americans. The essence of "The Art of War" lies in recognizing these challenges and navigating through the barriers that seek to trap us in poverty and ignorance.

Tupac 2Pac said, "Sometimes you gotta go meet people where they are in life, in hope to get them where they need to be in life. We are all
In that sense, 2Pac wasn’t just talking about helping others—he was talking about leadership, love, and responsibility. If you’ve found clarity, even briefly, your role isn’t to look down on those still wandering. Your role is to reach back, throw a life raft, speak their language, walk alongside them for a moment, and light the path without forcing them to walk it alone. Show them the blueprint, and allow them to choose their path.

Algorithms: control behavior and thinking by analyzing digital footprints to predict and subtly influence choices, primarily for engagement or commercial goals, such as targeted ads. They create feedback loops that reinforce existing beliefs and narrow worldviews, effectively turning users into predictable components of a system rather than independent decision-makers. Algorithms function as complex sets of instructions that learn patterns in data to suggest content, shape perceptions, and automate decisions. This impact extends to various aspects of life, including shopping, racial perspectives, music choices, dating, and political views. Algorithms can reinforce and amplify existing societal stereotypes and racism because they learn from data that reflects historical and current human biases and discrimination; basically, if you're pro-Democrat, it will feed you anti-Republican feeds and vice versa. You type in your prejudices and biases, and it will spit out information that will keep you firmly locked into that bias and stereotypes.

Black American celebrities won't invest a penny in America's Black communities, yet they have profited immensely from the hip-hop and Black culture that made them millions before taking that wealth to Africa. When you have citizenship, you should build wealth in the country from which you extracted it, rather than neglecting the community that contributed to your success.

During the Biden administration, a disturbing pattern has continued and intensified: sanctuary cities and large-scale migrant resettlement programs are disproportionately concentrated in municipalities with the highest African American populations. From the outside, this is framed as a humanitarian policy. But from the inside—on the ground in Black neighborhoods—it often feels like another chapter in a long history of forced social experimentation on Black communities without our consent.
If one were to ignore history, this might look accidental. But Black America has seen this movie before. Urban renewal, redlining, mass incarceration, predatory lending, public housing demolitions—every so-called “policy solution” that arrived wrapped in benevolent language eventually produced devastating consequences for Black families. What we are witnessing now follows that same blueprint: large-scale population shifts imposed onto already economically fragile Black neighborhoods, while wealthier white communities remain insulated from impact.

What’s happening in historically Black communities across America is not random—it is part of a long-standing pattern of policy design, economic engineering, and displacement that continues to evolve with each generation. When refugees or immigrant groups are placed strategically in predominantly African American neighborhoods, it is often the result of federal resettlement programs, local economic incentives, and business zoning decisions that rarely include African Americans in the planning process. These systemic choices create conditions where outside groups—regardless of race or origin—can unintentionally function as economic gatekeepers, even while they, too, are struggling to survive in America.

I had the opportunity to watch Sugarfoot of the Ohio Players perform live at one of his last open-air concerts in Columbus, Ohio, in August 2013 at Bicentennial Park. The temperature that evening reached 98 degrees, with a heat index of about 105. Under the stage lights, it had to be at least 110 degrees. I was burning up just standing backstage taking photos, so I could only imagine how he felt, especially given his frail health.
His three-set, 90-minute performance was fueled by pure dedication and passion to give his loyal fans his very best; it was as if he instinctively knew this was his final curtain call. That evening, Sugarfoot decided to endure the heat and transcend into another musical dimension.
I watched in amazement as he limped backstage, sat in front of a warehouse fan, drank a bottle of ice-cold water, wiped off the sweat, and mumbled a prayer—I assumed he was asking the Lord for strength—before walking back onto the stage for another 30-minute set.

Fine art is often inaccessible to poor or working-class Americans—not because it is unaffordable, but because many lack an appreciation for the aesthetics and collectibility of original fine art. Growing up, our home was adorned with artwork, photographs, and family heirlooms. We didn’t have much money, but creativity surrounded us. Art was on the walls, in the stories our elders told, and in the music that played through our neighborhoods. We learned to value beauty not through wealth, but through exposure. Creativity was part of our survival—it gave us identity, pride, and hope.

The song serves as a warning: "Smiling Faces" often hide deceit. They will tell you what you want to hear, only to betray you later. The song offers advice on how to identify these liars: look into their eyes. While it's easy to fake a smile, it's much harder to mask the truth with your eyes. The song was written by Motown songwriters Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong and was recorded by both The Temptations and The Undisputed Truth. It first appeared on The Temptations' album, *Sky's The Limit*, in April 1971.
