As much as IIIII like to call Dustin my son and call him a silly little guy. I don't really actually view him like that and I really actually hate when people infantilize him. I saw a post yesterday saying they thought it was weird to ship Dustin with other characters and it pissed me off so bad. He's the same age as them!! He's smart and funny and kind of an asshole and he pairs well with basically every character in the show!! The ONLY reason people dislike shipping him is because they view him as a child. I don't even care that much about any of the romantic pairings in the show, I prefer looking at the platonic dynamics (royalbard mostly. Because I'm very biased.) , but I think "he's just a baby" is a stupid reason not to ship him unless you also say that about ALLLLL of the party. Okay? Okay. That's all. Thx for letting me complain.

totally get what you mean, it's annoying, the Babying of Dustin has stunted and stopped Byerson from becoming a much bigger ship, I feel like especially after this last seaon it cold've become a Fandom phenomenon.

I fear its affecting Henderhop shippers as well now,

Dustin becoming this world-weary emotionally exhausted Bamf Anti-Conformist and finding himself having a deep connection with someone else the world has tried destroy for being different could be so juicy, so amazingly compelling

But no fandom Dustin has to be a tiny teddy bear baby and Steve's son/Baby-brother/sidekick, and it's limited down one of the characters the Duffer didn't ruin.

People forget the defining Sam moment to this day I think about "I was a lonely kid, Dean." And Dean looks confused because he made fast friends where ever they were and he never even noticed.

I like Dean but thr Fandom quickly forget Dean had friends superficially but he did have them and conquests, everyone was so charmed by him and thats canon and he never noticed Sam never had that,

Bobby, John and Dean never noticed how alone Sam was and thats in the bones of Sam as a character that lonely ache of Sam Winchester that been there since season 1 it's so ironic, Sam Winchester, no ones favourite and yet people somehow think he's a brat for daring to want a little for himself and Dean is this precious long suffering unloved Cinderella pack Omega when in canon its the exact opposite and its getting jarring.

Video games kinda suck at designing female heroes

In 2002, the photographer Howard Schatz published a photo collection called "Athlete" featuring pictures of, well, various top athletes from every sport and genre. These are some of the women he photographed, and the thing I want you to do in your head is compare the variety of humans that you're seeing here to the variety of humans you see in the cast list of your favourite video games.

These women are all in peak human condition for their fields - if you wanted to design a character who is tough and strong, these are the kinds of bodies you should look to for reference on what that looks like. You tell me how many video games or comics or movies or anime create their characters with even this limited variety in shape and size.

Of course, realism is not the end-all and be-all, fantasy characters don't need to be realistic, but if you are given the chance to make a character look like literally anything and justify it by "magic," and the only thing you do is reproduce the same 3 or 4 generically hot women over and over again, you are doing character design very poorly, in my opinion.
