âKidd!â Teddy specified his âfriendsâ name. Then seemed to think for a moment. âHmm.. He figured out all the routes! All the deaths, then a reset and retry until he did it all ân then itâs back to normal for a small bit..â He mumbled, leaning on Frisk just a bit while they walked. Probably a bit tired.
âHe doesnât know I remember..â He mumbled. âMy brother killed me in one,, ân I killed my brother in another and hurt my friend! It made me feel really bad..â
...Okay, yeah, that definitely meant his friend had reset powers. Just like Frisk. Wow.Â
It was weird to think they werenât alone in that, but it was also... kinda sad?  They werenât sad for themself, no-- ( They were long past feeling that way )  But they really pitied the poor kid who had to go through that. The awful control of a power too much for some child to hold, and dealing with mistakes and deaths that always somehow mattered and didnât matter. And pitied Ted, from hearing what he said next.
They looked at him for a moment in shock. There was even a small urge to hug the smaller child. â ...That really sucks. âM sorry to hear that. â  Frisk grimaced.
âââ  â Actually, I have the exact same power. â  They began, â So I think I can reeeeeeeally understand what that must feel like. I think, uh, Kidd? Might not have done all that for fun... If he was controlled the same way I was. Dâyou think there was... um... anything off with him? ...Oh-- But, more importantly I guess I should ask if youâre okay... Um. Sorry, I havenât done the whole talking to people thing in a while. Clearly. â

scared-of-spiders2â:
Ted nodded, reaching over to gently take hold of Friskâs hand again, nodding. âI understandâŚâ He mumbled.
âMy friend was forced too. But he gets second chances, so I guess itâs not as good for you..â He shrugged. âWhy did you have to?â
Feeling him hold their hand again, it surprised them for a moment. But they were grateful he was being so compassionate. It kind of reminded Frisk of their younger self.
They raised a brow as Ted mentioned having a friend who was forced too. And had second chances...? Hm. â I dunno. Thereâs this... person, out there who can kinda just... take control of my soul and make me do whatever they want. They havenât done that in a while though. Probably abandoned this timeline. â
Frisk tilted their head at him, â ...So, uh, what was it like with that friend you mentioned? Howâd he handle it? â
scared-of-spiders2â:
Ted paused, slowly letting go of any grip he had on them. âOhâŚâ He whispered.
He debated a bit, quiet. Eventually, the blonde looked up to Frisk again. âDo you regret it too?â He asked after a little. Probably not the response they were expecting from a child.
They probably scared him now, didnât they? Frisk couldnât really blame him; theyâd be scared if they were some innocent little kid finding out theyâve been walking around with a serial killer too. Whyâd they have to go and mess up meeting the first actual person theyâve seen in, like, forever?
Frisk felt like they were holding their breath as they awaited Tedâs response. Their gaze hadnât broke, but the silence felt deafening to them even if they were used to it.
......Did they regret it? A halfhearted laugh came from Friskâs mouth. It was so funny, that it was sad.  â ...Yeah. Yeah, I regret it a lot. I didnât actually want to. I was forced. â  They ended up confessing quietly.

inkyubeytorâ:
âYour soul is quite powerful, so there are very few wishes that would be beyond your power. Short of becoming a god, any wish you make would certainly come true.â Because of Friskâs determination, combined with the resets building Frisks fate, Frisks potential as a magical child was well above the other candidates. Â
âIf you are ready, simply picture your wish and I will do the rest. Bear in mind that your wish is in your control, whatever you imagine will be the wish that is granted.â Kyubey continued, hoping that this information would ensure that Frisk would agree to the contract.
To be fair, they were pretty on board with the wish thing as soon as it had been offered to them, seeing as Frisk had pretty much nothing to lose down here. Or at least, that was the way they saw it.Â
âââ â Okie dokie. That sounds great, gimme a sec then. â  Frisk said, as their mind drifted to trying to come up with a way to picture the wish they had in mind.Â
...How were they supposed to imagine a concept? The kid had no clue how to pull that off, but that was fine. Just as long as another player never got within, like, a hundred foot radius of their soul and never touched their controls again-- Frisk would be fine with anything. They wanted their soul to be free of its chains, and free of the code it was bound by.
âââ  â Alright. Ready. â They glanced at Kyubey, giving the go-ahead as they pictured their wish in their mind. They didnât really care what would happen at this point. Being a magical child had to be better than being doomed to wander an empty timeline for the rest of eternity, wouldnât it?
scared-of-spiders2â:
âWhereâd they all go?â Ted asked, most likely what would be one of his last questions. Heâll realize theyâre upsetting the other soon. He looked around curiously for a second, then up at Frisk again.
âWhy didnât you go too?â
Ugghhh. Ugggghhhhhhh. Wouldnât this kid shut up? What was with this interrogation? This just felt like punishment, but they probably deserved it. Actually getting to speak with some kid of their own species only to relive all the stuff they were trying to forget? Awful. And fitting.
âââ  â Because theyâre all dead. â  Friskâs gaze suddenly snapped towards Ted, answering him in a slow, icy tone. â I killed them. Every last one of them. Happy now? â
scared-of-spiders2â:
âBut,, I thought monsters were the big scary things that hide under kidsâ beds ân closets to try to eat them?â Ted mumbled in confusion, looking up at Frisk curiously.
âAre the monsters still here? Are they nice?â He asked curiously, tilting his head.
âââ  â Well, yeah, thatâs what humans say âcause they think monsters are some kinda myth. But theyâre a real species that used to live on the surface with humans a really really really long time ago. â Frisk explained.
They didnât like the next couple of questions. It was stuff that Frisk really didnât want to think about, and they had a lot of time to get real good at not thinking about it, until now. â ...Guess so. I kinda think monsters are actually so much nicer than humans ever have been. Theyâre not here anymore though. The Undergroundâs pretty empty, as you can see. â
hxartlockxtâ:
âWell.. Itâs a bit hard to be friendly with someone who trys to hurt you whenever you see them.. Thatâs the nicest way I can put it..â
Locket Sighed.
âWhile sometimes they donât really have a choice, they havenât really apologized for the amount of times theyâve hurt me on their own accord so itâs a bit of a hard situation..â
They gave a dry laugh at the answer, â Oh, yeah, makes sense then. I kinda get how that feels. â Frisk paused, as if they were unsure they should actually say it, but then they remembered they didnât really care anymore. Or rather, it didnât matter anyway.Â
âââ â Probâly from the other side of your situation, though. Yâknow. Considering all the... â They gestured out to the empty Underground, the copious dust on their clothes and beside where they were sitting.Â
âââ â I know Iâm just some kid but, yâknow, maybe itâs hard for them too in their own way. Assuming that personâs not, like, some heartless jerkface. I know for sure Iâd never be able to apologize to their faces if I... After all the... I dunno. Never mind. â
scared-of-spiders2â:
âI like the snow!â Ted chirped, seeming to perk up a little. âIâd like that, yes please.â He nodded, following Frisk quickly.
âUmm.. So.. Whats it like down here?â He questioned, deciding to try and learn more about where he was. âIâve never seen anything like this before..â
âââ  â Mâkay. Great. â  Frisk nodded, glad that he seemed a little happier now. They led the way towards Snowdin, their feet knowing the path so well by now that they could probably walk there blindfolded.Â
Their train of thought stopped for a moment as they tried to figure out how to answer his question, unsure of just how honest they should be. He was just a kid after all-- a much younger, innocent kid, but didnât that just mean maybe it was okay for Frisk to trust him?Â
âââ  â ...Itâs always quiet. And lonely. â  They answered, looking away to the side a little, â Iâm not surprised youâve never been here. No other humans come down here either. At least, no one âcept the people who came before me. This was the place where the humans a long time ago sealed all of monsterkind, so they were trapped down here while humans lived up on the Surface-- So usually humans arenât sâposed to be here anyway. No oneâs down here anymore though, except you and me. Maybe a flower too, but he avoids me. â

scared-of-spiders2â:
âItâs a Monstermon card! I guess you donât have it⌠Um- Itâs a game! My brother and I play it with the other kids sometimes. I always lose thoughâŚâ He mumbled that last bit, before shrugging and looking back up at Frisk with a smile.
âUm⌠Can you take me somewhere,, Less,, Scary?â He hesitantly questioned, just now noticing the surrounding area. He didnât like how dark it was. âItâs dark hereâŚâ
âââ â ...Monstermon...? â  Frisk just looked at him strangely. â Uh, okay, weird. â
It was kinda unthinkable the humans would make a game for kids about monsters considering they sealed them underground and all. So Frisk was thinking either this kid was from a post-pacifist timeline, or somewhere else entirely.
They frowned as they looked around too; they didnât think it was that bad, but maybe it was just âcause they hung around all of the Underground a lot.
âââ  â It is pretty dark here, huh? â  Frisk thought for a moment, â Uhh... I guess the closest place here is Snowdin. Itâs kinda cold, but the snow makes it look like itâs daytime, if youâre okay with that. Câmon. â They began leading the way to the next area.
hxartlockxtâ:
Locket couldnât help but chuckle and smile at the question.
âIt was a nickname from someone I knew as a kid. I have to say they werenât the best at naming things, but it stuck.. And I have to say itâs more interesting than just going by âCharaâ when there are a million other versions of me.. Itâs just a shame that Iâm not on the best terms with the person who gave me the name..â
âââ  â Oh, okay... â  Frisk nodded slowly as they gave it some thought, â I guess that makes sense. â
The child had to raise a brow at some of the things Locket said, however. A million other versions of them? What did that even mean? The name Chara struck as familiar, but only âcause that was the name of the first fallen human, wasnât it? It wasnât exactly a common name either. Frisk didnât really get it, but something else piqued their interest more than that.
âââ  â Whaddya mean youâre not on the best terms with them? Did something happen? â  They asked. They felt like they were just plain being nosy now, but listening to the issues of some person they just met was far more interesting than doing nothing.
scared-of-spiders2â:
âOh..â Ted nodded, taking the candy. He slowly seemed to be relaxing⌠As long as he was sent home later, he supposed being down here would be okay. âThatâs okay! Father never lets me or Felix have candy⌠Iâm not picky with themâŚâ He shrugged as he happily munched the candy. How trusting he was of Frisk was,,, Concerning. He didnât even really hesitate to eat what he was given.
âUmm..â He paused, looking back up at Frisk again. âRight- Thank you! Uh- Payment,, Um,, I donât have any money on meâŚâ He mumbled, digging in one of his pockets. He huffed a bit before pulling out a Monstermon card. He glanced at it, then offered it to the other. âHere! Since I donât have money- You can have this!â He chirped. He didnât think of the fact Frisk may not have Monstermon.
Noticing that he was calming down more, Frisk felt relieved it was actually working. They didnât think they still had a comforting bone in their body-- but maybe it was just that they never had the chance to show it. ( For obvious reasons. )  But they did raise a brow at how this kid behaved and talked, a bit of concern and pity peeking through their walls.
âââ  â Huh?  No, you donât have to-- â  Frisk wasnât expecting anything in return.Â
They only gave him a single piece of candy--??  Why would he need to pay them back for something as small as that? But before they could say as much, he was holding out... something to them. Frisk looked at it questioningly, but decided to just accept it if the kid really insisted on giving it to them.
âââ  â Fine. Uh... Thanks for the, uh, card thingy? â  They glanced at it, figuring it was probably part of some toy the kid had up on the Surface. Jeez, how long was Frisk down here to not know what these ânew trendsâ were anymore?  Nonetheless they put it into their inventory.

scared-of-spiders2â:
Ted tilted his head hesitantly, a quiet whine coming from him. He didnât know where he was or why he was here, this wasnât kindergartenâ And this clearly wasnât Kidd or anyone Ted knew. This was weird and scary.
âM- Monster Candy..? Whatâs,, Whatâs that..?â He questioned, hugging himself. He hoped that was just a brand name.. Monsters are scary! He couldnât defend himself! That was his friendâs job because he was a pacifist! Not to mention he was a huge coward and cried at everything.
But,, Candy sounded nice right now.
Frisk had all the time in the world down here, and yet they still felt way too impatient to deal with this kid. It was probably just that this was new and they were uncomfortable, but who could blame them? They werenât expecting a babysitting gig years after killing off basically all of monsterkind.
âââ  â Exactly what it sounds like. â They responded as if it was obvious, pulling a little delightfully wrapped piece of candy out of their pocket.Â
They didnât have much use for it, since they only ever needed to use up all the high HP items.  â Anyway, here ya go. â Frisk handed it to him. They thought for a moment, â Itâs-- Well, I donât actually know what flavour it is. But itâs good. â

âI suppose iâm talking to you because⌠if youâre like me, which, based on our shared name and appearance, you are⌠Youâre probably not happy with the current results, but also canât fix it yet. Iâm not sure how i got here but⌠i suppose you can say I get it.â they pulled something else out of their phone- a hand made heart shaped necklace. not the actual locket, but⌠it was obviously inspired by the locket. they slid it on as they kept talking.
ââŚi have something going on sort of like this myself. not⌠this extreme or isolating, but⌠being trapped without knowing how to fix it, being alone mentally, even if not exactly⌠physically. and maybe iâm just presuming things. maybe you think yourself remorseless, or that this is what you desire orâŚâ they trail off.
ââŚbut even the worst mistakes donât make a bad person. and even bad people⌠can be good with some effort.â the way they said bad people was almost as if⌠they didnât believe the concept that much.
Mal frowned. They didnât want to admit they werenât happy. Never in a million years. âCause if they ever did, theyâd have to admit that they were living in a lie for years, convincing themself they wanted and deserved it for ultimately no reason. No, they were happy with the way things happened. They didnât have a choice. It was funny hearing Red thought they could fix it somehow. The most hilarious thing ever. That just wasnât possible.
They looked curiously at the necklace, noticing how obviously familiar it looked. And as Red continued to speak... Ugh. This saccharine positivity bullcrap. They raised a brow at their words. Maybe it would have moved them, even a little, more than theyâd like to admit-- If it werenât for the fact that Red sounded like that while they were talking. How was Mal supposed to believe a word they said when it was that clear they didnât even believe it themself?
âââ  â Right, okay. â  They said boredly, â Look, I guess itâs nice youâre trying to make me feel better or whatever?  But thatâs not gonna happen. Youâre wasting your time. Nothing ever changes, no matter how much you want it to. Bad people are bad and thatâs the end of that, and thinking otherwise is just plain stupid. â
@scared-of-spiders2 | continued from x!
Ted frowned at the sight of the knife, immediately tensing up when he noticed it. He was scared and this person was apparently dangerous⌠He didnât want to get too close. He just wanted to go home.
As soon as Frisk responded with âHell,â tears began filling his eyes and he looked a bit panicked, but did his best to relax. Donât panic. This is just another universe, heâll be fine.. Right?
He took a deep breath when he was asked how he got there, hesitating for a bit before responding. âUm.. R- Right- I,, I fell..? I think..? I-Iâm not entirely sure- This is weird..â He sniffled, rubbing his eyes. Why couldnât he have brought a friend with him?
Jeez, theyâve been away from human contact for way too long, judging by the way their little joke flew right over the kidâs head and sent him in tears. Yikes. Maybe Frisk shouldâve figured that answering the way they did to a kid that young probably wouldnât be a good thing. Frankly, they stopped caring about that a long time ago, considering they didnât need to anymore.
He wasnât a monster. So Frisk had no need to harm him. â Wha--? Donât cry, sheesh! I was just kidding. â They made an attempt at calming him down. Though they werenât confident it was actually working or not.
âââ  â You fell? â  Frisk asked, brow raised at him. â ...So did I. âÂ
Not that they knew what he was capable of, but the answer made sense to them considering the large crevice in Mt. Ebott was how Frisk got doomed to suffer here, and they assumed that was the same way the boy came through.Â
They were kind of uncomfortable. What were they supposed to do with some random boy down here with them?  â ...Um, are you hurt or anything? I think I have some spare Monster Candy, thatâll make ya feel better... â
