i’ve been learning and unlearning a lot about myself these last 2-3 years. my love partner has been an important part of this journey. she’s been supplying me with novel perspectives, open mindedness, and challenging me on things that I never dared to assign my consciousness. self exploration is so beautiful and is definitely humbling. revealing and rejecting indoctrinated and toxic parts of you, then going deeper to examine how much of an impact these parts have made on the person beneath your skin. and finally- being willing to do the work afterwards to move forward. constant self evaluation. constant self correction. one thing i would say is, do not run away from discomfort. it may be uncomfortable at first, but if you follow through, you just might ask yourself why is this so uncomfortable for me?? and then, boom. you’re peeling off more layers of who you are.. and the best part is, you’re the one doing the peeling. many of us know how important it is to ‘be real with ourselves’ but sometimes, you really gotta ask yourself, “am i keeping it real with myself”??? if you’re really honest, you would learn that you most likely haven’t been in one way, shape, or form… just like me. but when you choose to address that?? mann. you’ve just graduated to a new level of self discovery. and self discovery? it’s non-stop and will always feel new, no matter how old you are. so do yourself a favor and ease up on the ego, the pride, the self-righteousness, the selective ignorance, the closed-mindedness, the stubbornness and go a little deeper… within yourself. enjoy.
