Motherfucker- you were her head guard, intrusted with protecting her and her family, who professed constantly how much this woman was the love of your life. And the moment you think that shes been making out with the guy who you knew had romantic intrest in her, and was supposedly your brother in arms, and you knew that she potentially reciprocated- you immediately run to your evil ass brother, whom you hate, and proceed to betray her and everyone who trusted and relied on you. And when you learn that she actually wasnt making out with this guy, you suddenly remember that your evil ass brother is evil, and do the bare minimum and give them time to get out, which they do, but then realize youve skipped them ahead 15 years, and everything this woman has built and the family she made is functionally destroyed.

And then, after landing a high score in ruining this womans life, you see her again and decide to allow yourself a smooch???

I've touched on this before but I have a lot of frustrations with MS!Aphmau because after a certain point it feels like she has no individuality beyond her relationship to Aaron. Every motivation she has connects in some way to Aaron, she only seems to make decisions based on Aaron, and every time shes talking to someone other than Aaron it feels like shes speed running the Bechtel Test.

This is especially bad in season 5 but i think season 6 gets the most consequences from it, because they try to give her more agency and motivations beyond Aaron, but its inconsistent, she can be self sufficient in one scene but in the next damseled for Aaron to save. She can jump 15 feet across a river, holding a grown ass man twice her weight, at one moment, and yet be easily physically restrained by a human Ein at another. She can be quick thininking and then dumb as rocks 2 seconds later.

I guess what I'm getting at is that, to me, MS!Aphmau never felt like she had a consistent character. She always felt like she was just whatever the plot called for in that moment, and unfortunately for Mystreet, that mostly just meant Aaron's girlfriend.

Usually when that song comes up it doesn't mean someone's gonna die, it usually indicates Irene is connected somehow. It was first used in the Diaries season 1 finale and no one died there (unless you count Katelyn killing Lillian i guess).

The song playing while MT Aaron was getting chased down isnt meant to trick the audience, its meant to indicate Irene is involved somehow. And considering the Wolf lowkey prophesying his death, and what happens in the other series, it really does seem Aaron is just destined to die.

Immediately suffers a transphobic hate crime.

Not again.

It makes sense to a degree with Diaries!Aphmau because she's secretly god and has prior combat experience (unbeknownst to her).

But Alternates!Aphmau? Mermaid Tales!Aphmau?

Those two were just basic civilians before shit hit the fan in their universes, Mermaid Tales!Aphmau is canonically the dumbest Aphmau version so far, yet it never feels like she couldnt at least give it a good shot if she was to get in a bad situation.

I think this mainly comes down to the fact that Mystreet!Aphmau's character being wholly defined by her relationship to Aaron, and vice versa. Whether or not Aphmau is able to think for and at least attempt to defend herself or not, it really comes down to if it's convenient for an epic Aarmau moment. I can't think of a single time where Mystreet!Aphmau had a motivation at least partly separated from Aaron.

Aphmau's year is the perfect example of this, Aphmau was essentially kidnapped, assualted, and had all of her decision making taken from her, yet the only thing she focuses on is that she serious hurt Aaron. Which, while yes is incredibly traumatising, thats the only thing shes upset about? Not the black eye she got from the whole ideal?

Aaron is gone for one (1) year, and she goes into a crying comatose state for the whole ass year. Meanwhile, Diaries!Aphmau takes about 2 weeks before she finally calms down enough to continue on, and Alternates!Aphmau takes presumably a few months to finally move on and accept what happened, but she isnt useless for the whole duration and continues on despite her grief. And in those two examples, Aaron fully died, yet they handle that better than Mystreet!Aphmau just not seeing him for a year.
